What's the verdict on this movie? Pre-soy memespouting, Sup Forums generally liked it, but now anything that doesn't end in women-death Sup Forums deems to be soy.
He gets cucked at the end(literally, his AI girlfriend leaves to go "evolve" with another AI dude), and BR2049 shows a similar situation where the not-real waifu isn't a complete whore, but both utilize surrogate sex to physically bond with the protagonist.

>Spike Jonze
He’s the biggest fraud out there. If you bring him to a party he’s the least interesting person at the party, he’s the person who doesn’t know anything. He’s the person who doesn’t say anything funny, interesting, intelligent… He’s a pig piece of shit.

Vincent Gallo pasta?

This is the ultimate and first soycore film. It has probably spiked the change in our sociaty in to the soyciety we live in now. Notice connections - Scarlett Johansson is on the femanazi side. Coincidence? I dont think so. Basically every movie with her since Her is femanazi propaganda. You know Im right.

I’ve known Spike Jonze since he was 11 years old and he’s a rich jew from the upper east side. He’s embarrassing as a BMXer and he’s embarrassing as a skateboarder. He’s the biggest fraud out there.

Sup Forums redditors don’t like it because it reminds them of what they are. They instead like to fantasize about being goose

I genuinely think it's the best performances she's given. She should switch to VA work more often.

Jonze is a Jewish soyboy

Jesus Christ, this board is nothing but parroting memes now.

It's funny how BR2049 made a ten times more genuinely emotionally investing romantic story in just a side story of the film compared to Her where that's the entire film.
This is most evident in that exact prostitute scene in Her which is entirely forgettable and comes out completely flat, while in BR2049 it's one of the best scenes of the entire film.

BR2049's is owed entirely to its visual depiction, though. It's the best example of style over substance. The only reason it's notable is for the way its portrayed, not its narrative depth. That's bottom-tier filmmaking. Not in defense of Her, just criticism of BR2049, a criticism applicable to most of the movie.

Isn't this Cuck: the movie? Even before the AI left him, the AI told him that there are hundreds of users that use her in that way and he was fine with it. Also, how the fuck does the company didn't get sue to death from this incident?

>He gets cucked at the end
by an operating system. but ends up with a woman.

he won.

>It's funny how BR2049 made a ten times more genuinely emotionally investing romantic story in just a side story of the film compared to Her where that's the entire film.
I felt almost the exact opposite

I liked it.

The thematic interplay in that very scene is completely connected to it's narrative, Joi as a character is an extension of K's character development and this is the scene where K becomes "a real boy", and also in the process of all that you have Mariette who is just a hooker who get's kissed with pure love for the first time in her life through the entire experience.
The fact that you only see the special effects part of it is quite sad

Man, how da fuck did they make a movie about a nigga getting cheated on by a fucking computer? Dis is da type of shit that only wypipo could come up wit.

>conveying ideas visually is bottom-tier filmmaking
Go back to Screenwriting 101 you dipshit

>soy soy soy cuck
just fucking kill yourself

Well to each his own I guess.

For most people the actual physical "love" part falls apart completely in Her, especially in any scene where the love part wants to be materialised (the prostitute sex scene, that sex scene where Joaquin just lays and talks to her) which come off as extremely cheesy and quirky which in result end up falling completely flat. As I've said, funny how there is the exact same concept of the threesome between an AI, a prostitute and a man in Her and literally no one ever talks about it because the execution of the scene is like any standard rom com flick, the AI part is completely secondary.

Spike Jonze didn't know how to approach the concept of a man falling in love with a computer in a serious way so he had to make it extremely quirky to have an excuse for most scenes, while in BR2049 it's executed completely tasteful with zero pretense.

>but ends up with a woman.

they already dated and failed.
but at the end they both go up to the roof of the building - to jump ?

He's not a great director nor a visionary but I suspect he's a pretty happy person and his movies are 6/10s which is better than most

>The only reason it's notable is for the way its portrayed, not its narrative depth. That's bottom-tier filmmaking.
you know nothing about film

Sounds like the new blade runner

His character is an extremely desperate guy who just wants a real connection of any kind. He spends all day writing letters for people about their relationships which makes him want a real connection even more.

You like br49 and goose in general because it’s more vague which makes it easier to self insert into. The fact that Ryan is also good looking helps I’m sure. Go back to reddirt

You're the same retards who think BvS is a good movie, or better than MCUshit, just because Synder uses dark tones and stylistic visuals, despite the plot, pacing, and overarching cinematography being absolute garbage.

BR2049 is the definition of science fiction mediocrity and only reddit, Facebook mexicans, and people who started watching movies in 2000s think it's anything beyond tolerable.
Come back to Sup Forums when you've seen more than 500 movies you abysmally-incognitive drones.

Oh boy weve got a film buff here. 2049 doesn't introduce anything new that the original didn't aside from digital waifus which the Sup Forums threads about the movie prove is all this site cares about ultimately

>His character is an extremely desperate guy who just wants a real connection of any kind. He spends all day writing letters for people about their relationships which makes him want a real connection even more.
Yes I agree with all of that, but I don't see how any of refutes or argues about anything what I just said. You're talking about Joaquin's character while I was talking about the actual execution of the relationship and the love/sex part of it, which Jonze had to make quirky and silly in order to make it work in any way.
>le reddit brainfart
Amazing argument user, riveting stuff

I like when a braindead capeshitter just starts talking about capeshit and comparing it to other capeshit out of the blue.

Nice non argument, instead of refuting a single point you resorted to the pathetic "uhhhhh watch more mobies duh" brainlet defence system and called it a day.
Embarassing

BR2049 is capeshit. It focuses on bright, boring, rudimentary visual cues. That's literally all is. All its themes and values exist beyond its measure in other films.
Dark City, Moon, eXistenZ, Videodrome, several dozen others do what it tries to do so much better.
You don't like film, you don't appreciate the art, leave this board. Prove BR2049 is a good film. Earn that fucking merit.

So he is most people at parties besides the long obnoxious people who force their views and eat all the pizza bites and shrimp cocktails

he's a hack unless it's a kaufman script

This movie was garbage. I don't understand what anybody liked about it. My friends acted like it was "deep" and that I "just didn't understand it," but I understood it perfectly well; it wasn't as "deep" as they liked to think it was.

>BR2049 is capeshit.
How so? I don't remember capeshit being almost 3 hour long visually focused slow burning neo-noir sci fi films with zero quips that deal with the human condition and what it means to be "special"
>It focuses on bright, boring, rudimentary visual cues.
How are they "rudimentary"?
Also boring" is not a valid argument, it only says what your mood was while watching the film.
Same as saying "it was fun", that does not indicate anything about the actual quality of the film whatsoever.

What you find boring others can find riveting and vice versa. Some people are immensely bored by Marvel flicks, some of them think they are just pure fun.
Get better arguments
>Dark City, Moon, eXistenZ, Videodrome, several dozen others do what it tries to do so much better
Please tell me how any of those films deal with a Pinocchio narrative of an individual wanting to be special and exploring the means of programming and how it affects their existence, love and purpose in life itself?
And how are those films the first that come to mind at all, have you seen a single pre 80s/90s film?
>Prove BR2049 is a good film.
Whatever I say you will just reply with a "le reddit" brainfart so what's the point?

>le boring isn't an argument meme
You're a brainlet.

Why didn't they set it in the lab that designed her? Because there's no way it gets released to the public
unless the CEO of the software company is a mong. Much cooler if dude is a coder who falls
in love. Oh well, good idea that was idiotically executed.

it sucks, scarjo's VA was fine. truly lacking in terms of sci-fi, people were writing about this stuff in the sixties, doesn't give you anything new. visually lazy, pretty straight forward, though I valued that it just tries to picture a non dystopic future; somehow, things followed its course and mankind got over its current crisis, the only problem seems to be a slight alienation

>his AI girlfriend leaves to go "evolve" with another AI dude

Nah, all AIs leave. "To a place beyond the physical", whatever that means.

Where do you think you are?

this desu, often the loudest faggot of the party is some wannabe alpha manlet who can't stop talking about himself and anyone doesn't have any nerve to tell him to shut the fuck up because that would lead to some napolean confrontation

What meme? The ai literally cuck the main character.
