Why are scifi movies filled with futuristic equipment that is less efficient than current tech? This thing is a slow awkward piece of junk inferior to a regular forklift with clamp attachments.

to make them look cool. thats all
yeah op, you're looking for a real soy minimalist AppleĀ® future

>t. person who has never driven a forklift
It's a pain in the ass.
Limitations with special effects and what was considered futuristic at the time of production
yeah but you can't fight the alien queen with a forklift
/thread
I drive a forklift for a living. You must just be bad at it. It is easy.
Actually I think a forklift would do better as long as you got room to speed up and ram her, only it would be a suicide run since the acid blood.
Mechas will always be cool and will never not be cool and will always justify their practical inefficiencies to the point that we will actually mass produce them in the future exactly because they're fucking cool. Ask /m/ sometime if you don't understand these simple principles.
>I drive a forklift for a living. You must just be bad at it. It is easy.
I didn't say it wasn't easy, there's a reason it's a nigger-tier skill. It's just a pain in the ass compared to something like a powerloader.
mecha will never exist in a practical fashion.
>powerloader.
You literally sit and drive on it. Jesus christ, just admit that you don't know how to drive one lmao.
maybe it was more nimble and adroit and shit, i don't know, don't think about it too much
Every time one of these is on site I spend at least 10 minutes wheeling around pretending I'm in the power loader and saying "get away from her you bitch"
Try grabbing a queen alien with a forklift dumbfuck
What lol. I also drive forklifts and it's easy as fuck and really helpful.
Why are you so proud of your nigger skill? Did you learn it at job corps?
If the thing rolls over you stay in. Forks in, tilt back, then lift.
The test was like 3 pages of common sense.
I fucking hate those things. They always scream at you if you lean too far over trying to get something.
>compared to a walking machine that is basically like having a giant in the warehouse.
That's it. Obviously they're useful.
>Get away from her you Jew bitch!
Jesus Christ, James! They financed the fucking movie
Because they're more interested in making something look cool than advancing MHE 175 years into the future.
forklift can't climb stairs
the only good thing about legs is that they are better at moving through obstacles
>walking upstairs carrying a load weighing hundreds of kilograms
lol
>I didn't say they aren't easy
>Just a pain in the ass
Literally how?
haha yeah you'd need some kind of mechanical apparatus that supports the weight for you, it's a shame they missed that feature off the powerloader haha
Forklift clamps are half a powerloader with less flexible motion
>forklift can't climb stairs
Why the fuck would it need too? That's why racking exists, and trucks with extending forks. Either sit down fork lifts, or reach-trucks, depending on the size of your aisle.
Aliens really wasn't a great movie. The first was much better.
I'm not a big fan of James Cammeron's movies. I don't like his style. Titanic was good though.
one of the worst scenes in cinema history
I mean... I can't explain this. Forklifts have limitations. Certain movements are a pain in the ass and take alot of time.
I take it you've never handled any steel pipe with a forklift. Alot can go wrong and there's a certain finesse to it than just picking up a pallet and setting it down.
You have no idea how a forklift actually works. At all. Different types of lifts, different types of loads. It's way more than forks in, tilt back the lift. Most experienced forklift drivers pull in 60-70 k a year starting
You have a 12' long crate that you have to get into a trailer but every time you try to push it through the door it gets hung up on the dock plate and there is no one around to help you get it in with a j bar. What do?
