Why didn't people go this crazy for this move like they did for Black Panther?
Why didn't people go this crazy for this move like they did for Black Panther?
She still lived in racist America.
Because it didn't have a soundtrack with dem dope-ass bars done by Kang Kendrick
That was before social media, before people blew everything up to be bigger than it was
B-but, a singing frog??
2010 was different from now
Different time
Different politics
NIGGA FUQQ THAT BOUGIE ASS FROG SIT DOWN AND BE HUMBLE BIIIIIIH
Came out right before Avatar, Disney barely promoted, and it was the last film Disney bothered to use hand drawn animation with.
Plus she was a frog for the majority of the movie if i remember. the last true disney animation
because if it got half the marketing push of Black Panther it would've been too successful and Disney wouldn't have been justified in shutting down their 2D department like they wanted to do
Same reason blacks didn't go see 12 Years a Slave or Moonlight. There's nothing really empowering about slavery or homosexuality, same with being a frog princess in the swamp.
I actually know more blacks who went to see Moana.
she’s not even the best black Disney princess anymore
or this
I only found out there was a Spawn movie a few days ago.
Yeesh
underage
what exactly do blacks have to do with polynesians?
because racial tensions warent as bad as they are now or rather they were at a lower level
Tribalist cultures and nappy hair. Do I have to spell it out to you? People gravitate towards similar phenotypes. Same as how whites rallied around Jason Isaacs even though he was a Jew playing a Mexican.
You morons and the movie executives greenlighting future black led projects don't get it. BP is a huge success because of the mostly black cast, yes, but much more importantly it is a celebration of African culture and heritage and Kang-think. Wakanda is the fantastical utopian version of African Americans' homelands. There aren't very many things in the film, other than killmonger, that show things blacks are ashamed of that are always shown in movies and TV like gangs, drugs, people in prison, being poor, etc. It shows the WE-ers how great they could have it if whitey didn't get in the way. Old church ladies, WE-ers aren't going to out of their way to see a movie about a gud boi got shot by a cop, life in the inner city, etc.
>the special-effects movie event of the year!
oh it fucking shows
Wasn't she like a frog for like 3/4 of the movie? Destroys the whole point of making her black. I remember there was mild Stormfag fuss over her being in a relationship with a white man, but didn't see any white dude at all in this flick.
Tiana was a fucking frog for most of the movie. Also the whole Maddy backlash that cause the re-writes.
i think people forget that there basically isnt any black superheroes in this marvel universe (i say that because in the comics you get black spiderman and black captain in alternate realities etc) so obviously people arent going to relate to a hero they look nothing like, if you want another example of this make an mcu movie with an asian protagonist and majority asian cast and watch the sales figures go through the roof in asia
I had a long talk with my black friend about this same discussion. He said it was because the movie just wasn't all that good and any support by the black community as a civil rights act wouldn't have helped it do any better than it did.
youre probably some 56% idiot if you think this, shame this board doesnt have flags so we can instantly out the american posters
Even as fiction it's unrealistic as without white people they would have remained warring tribal savages until they died out. Now they just have some t-shirts and shorts and automatic weapons instead of the classic spears and grass skirts.
>It shows the WE-ers how great they could have it if whitey didn't get in the way.
"Get in their way"? Don't make me laugh. They're part of what holds humanity back.
Only little girls care about princess movies.
No its much much more than that. A War Machine or Falcon or Nick Fury movie would only do about the same as Ant-Man box office-wise. This film is a celebration of the best version of Africa. It's why Avatar was successful. Pandora was the best version of Earth's natural world.
The last 2D Disney movie
>being this obsessed
We don't need flags to know which shit European country you're from.
A different time. A different king
some help you guys?
>implying everyone crying over Isaacs leaving STD wasn't calling him "the white guy"
It was 2D animated film released in 2009 and a month before pic related. Of course no one cared about it.
>2009
>before social media
Can't tell if retarded or underage
Black Panther was a good movie
its unironically one of disneys best
Kind of a shame this movie wasn't that great and got so little attention because the scene where the firefly died happy looking at his star was more emotional and heartfelt than most of Disney outside of Pixar. Even the older stuff.
Black Panther is a Marvel movie, it's quite simple, the Black cast is just a bonus that draws in more African Americans, who probably would have seen it anyway since they love Marvel
they don't do tag lines like they used to
>Yeesh
kill yourself kiddo
A real example would be the Blade series
2/10 bait
Not a lot of families lining up to see rated R movies.
>blacks caring about women, especially black women
Dumb Blacks only learned about social media in 2014
Honestly the only reason everything is this bad is because most of the word has understood the basics of the internet and only now we truly see the stupidity of man
Internet 2 needs to fucking happen soon before someone gets sick of it all and starts to genocide
>Internet 2
you're a bit late kid
They did, it's just that it's an animated Disney princess movie.
They had already covered:
White (European)
Middle Eastern
Chinese
Native American
So, idk its just different
>So, idk its just different
you don't know shit you little faggot, don't even bother trying to contribute to the conversation.
