Start watching Korra

>start watching Korra
>see Lin and instantly start falling for her
>by episode 4 I can't fucking take the show anymore
Fucking fuck. Should I slowly torture myself by watching LoK, even though I heard it gets worse, just for her?

>watching the show just for Lin
... Uh, if you like Lin, that's a bad idea.

Lin gets shat on at every turn so no

I'd say finish S1 if you're watching it for Lin, since it does go to some really cool places with her. After that, S2 doesn't have a lot of her and what little there is is quite incompetent; S3 expands on her backstory a fair bit but it's likely it'll piss you off; and S4 has a bunch of cool action bits and not a lot of development to get in the way so it's overall pretty good.

She gets cucked by an air groupie. Spends most her life alone & bitter. That's why we ship Mako x Lin, she's his domineering but soft on the inside boss. Their secret but not so secret romance, makes everyone jealous.

Its why Korra started making out with Asami. She's not really bisexual, she just wants Mako's attention.

Fugg

So I should just do S1 and S4? I heard there's a new villain every season anyway so I won't be completely lost if I skip, right? Not like I really give a fuck about Korra's story.

No. The show is pure torture and I regret watching it to the end.

Pretty much. You can look up the missing seasons' plots on wiki and such, though I would recommend watching at least the Lin eps in S3, if only for the flashbacks/backstory (and more delicious Lin in a tanktop).

Lin should've just joined up with Kuvira and headed her blue shirts (or green shirts I guess). At least Kuvira probably would've appreciated her.

Lets face it we all would've loved it if at the end Lin ended up with Mako.

They could probably bond pretty well over hating Suyin.

>S3 expands on her backstory a fair bit but it's likely it'll piss you off
What does this mean exactly? Is it because she does some wrong things, or because the story telling is just shit?

It gets worse until the end of season two, then it slowly gets better until peaking in mid season 3.

Season 4 is okay, about as good as the first season, the animation is bad though.

>love Lin
>gets shat on
>like Mako
>gets shat on

Meh.

Storytelling is shit, and fucks with Toph's character quite a bit.

We get to meet her sister, find out how she got her scar and there's a lot of backstory drama and unsolved family issues. It only lasts like two-three episodes before it's all wrapped up with a bow, but it really depends on how well you can digest family drama. Personally I just found it all bit meh and half-baked.

Well, guess I'll still watch it for Lin. Korra fucked up ATLA story anyway.

So that's S1, any episode of Lin in S3, and then s4?

Pretty much, yeah. S3 as a whole is quite good so I'd say just go ahead and watch it, but nothing wrong with just catching the Lin eps.

You should really watch season 3. It's the best the show gets

>dislike all the characters
>the show they are in gets four seasons
>like other characters in other shows
>those shows get cancelled

Heh.

Her sister runs a giant isolationist metal commune and was a bitch criminal as a kid. She wad the one who slashed Lin's face and Toph covered it up and forced Lin to drop it. Then Toph left town and lived alone in the woods for the rest of her life.

We are supposed to sympathize with Suyin and believe that Lin is bad for holding a grudge against her for slashing her face and spitting in the face of justice, and Lin apologizes to her.

It is bad.

What the fuck, please tell me this is a fucking shitpost, I'm getting pissed off just reading this shit.

>Lin apologizes
Pic related. Why the fuck do good characters have to get shat on? Fuck man. Now I probably won't bother watching it.

>probably
You should not bother watching it.
The idea they were going with is forgive others to help you move on and heal. Several character go through this type of thing: Tenzin, Korra, Lin, and Asami. And the writers mess it up with all of them in various ways.

No, that's a pretty balanced and accurate description.

Oh yeah and Tenzin's wife was his student when he used to date Lin. His wife wooed Tenzin and got him to dump Lin. This is treated as a good thing and she later trains Korra to break up relationships in the same way.

Jesus Christ that sounds fucking awful. I really fucking want to just see Lin, but all this fucking dogshit is keeping me far away.

>tfw source material is so shit but girl is so cute
Whoever made Korra should be be killed in the slowest most excruciating way possible.

>mfw comics are even worse

>I'm getting pissed off just reading this shit.
I can imagine. It's been several years since I watched the show and I am still mad.

Toph is the true villain of LoK.

She enabled Suyin's (Lin's EVIL sister, who is both directly and indirectly responsible for everything bad in the final season) selfish behavior, and basically shits on Lin for upholding the rule of law.

And then Toph abandoned Lin to live in the woods like a hermit for the next many decades. 10/10 parenting

I didn't think of this before, but time-wise, that's halfway between AtLA and LoK, right? And yet they're using the exact same tech as in LoK. Did they advance from "ancient China" to 1920's in 35 years and then stay in the 1920's for the following 35 years?

>LoK
>keeping its lore straight

Judge Lin sentences you to 20 years in the cubes

The only good thing about Korra is porn.

They really shit the bed with the time jump bullshit

Year 100 (AtLA series finale)
Year 174 (Series finale, season 4 end)

Throughout the series characters allude to all of the interesting shit that happened over the past 74 years that the audience barely, if ever, gets to see. Mafia? Blood Magic? Satanic oaths to demons in the Northern Water Tribe? Piracy, raiders? The Red Lotus?

All of the interesting stuff happens and concludes long before Korra is even born, and the writers never choose to focus on it. All great conflicts LoK had were the Equalists (which were swept under the rug hard post S1 and never mentioned again) and the collapse of the Earth Kingdom, which was largely ignored due to the 3 year timeskip between S3 and S4.

Tl;Dr, LoK is the Legend of Missed Opportunities and Bad Writing

>Oh yeah and Tenzin's wife was his student when he used to date Lin.

Also there's a 16 year age difference between the two. Like there's jailbait and then there's fucking this.

>Best girl
>Least appreciation
Being Lin is suffering

And the older women

S-So am I gonna have to miss this qt-pie's show for my own sanity? I've never felt like this about a fictional character even though I've seen other qts

Can she be my waifu even if I don't watch her show

Don't watch the show. Just make up whatever headcanon you want, but don't watch the show. It will only leave you bitter and angry.

Guess I'll just stick to the wikis.

lin was a adult woman you fucking fool

this thread is fucking retarded going off of head canon and and retarded shit people tell you fucking sad

Season 3 is the best of the show, and it's pretty required for season 4.

The only problem is in its handling of Lin.
It's really not THAT bad, but it does involve one of the worst characters of the series.

>Lin gets shat on at every turn so no

Worst? Suyin? Where is this anti-Suyin brigade coming from?

If nothing else, LoK will always have the best mature ladies.
At least one of the show's designers has excellent taste.

You're probably better off not watching it.
She barely even gets good showings in fights.

Suyin has been pretty hated since we learned her backstory, and it only got worse in season 4.
This can't possibly be news to you.

it seems some of you retards forgot to add that Toph was super stressed at her job for years then she retired

Bolin joins the Bad Guy's Army and become a high ranking officer, becomes a Lava Bender, and plows Lin's niece pussy.

It's a shame this timeline will never exist.

Bolin never got shat on

>a high ranking officer
His insignia seem to indicate that he's a corporal. While it could certainly be the case that their rank system is different from any found on earth, it would be an odd choice to use real-world symbols and completely change their meaning.

I need to re-do this drawing

>This can't possibly be news to you.
You nerds haven't come out in full force in quite some time though.

Corporal's back in the day of old armies was basically a NCO and experienced soldier who assist the sergeant..

Bolin despite rank was part of Kuvira's inner-circle and high ranking officer-official, he even served as her personal diplomat to Zhao fu.

>Bolin never got shat on.
His brother shat on him for staying with Kuvira after she became full dictator. He shat on him when he decided to hang around Varrick and knew he was doing something shady. He got shat on when his brother NTR'd Korra from him after Bolin explicitly tells Mako he was in love with Korra and Mako was in a relationship with Asami.

you should do it but with the AtLA / younger Korra cast
or just Korra, that works too

Nah, the plan was to add a few more mature ladies from LoK
