Morty Smith

>Morty is nice, content, and happy
>Successful without his toxicity
>Has everything he'd ever want in life
>Rich, getting that great older pussy
>Rick and Jessica selfishly take away his happiness
>Jessica doesn't even want to be with him

Fuck both Rick and Jessica.

Rick doesn't even need this Morty. Go grab one that doesn't have a Rick, or cash in your coupon you cheap bastard. This isn't even your original Morty.
>The episode shows he cares despite how often he says he doesn't
If he really cares about Morty he'd want him to be happy.

if he really cares about morty he'd want morty to have a conscience and not be a sociopath.

>successful people are scociopaths

Morty gave up on that lifestyle, if you noticed he completely called Rick tracing the call but intentionally didn't hang up.

So did Jess really care and was just being tsun about it or what? Because if she just wanted Morty to be back because she wanted a safety line (how Morty said she only wants him because he loved her on the phone) that's pretty cruel.

>nice, content, and happy
Two for three. Cleansed Morty is an amoral sociopath because he considered his morality to be weighing him down.

>Successful
As a parasitic stockbroker

>Has everything he'd ever want in life
Desires were part of what was cleansed

Cleansed Morty is a shell of a human being, a walking zombie without morality, desire, anxiety, shame, or purpose.

Notice how Morty knew the call was being traced and how long it would take, but didn't hang up anyway.

Notice how he doesn't seem to give a shit about staying cleansed or not until after he's re-merged

The wording Rick uses is important.

She didn't ask Rick if Morty was back yet, she kept asking if he'd "got a new Morty yet"

So yeah, she likes the puppy-dog unqualified love. A lot like Beth does

>Morty is nice, content, and happy
>Successful without his toxicity
thats just bad writing imo
the whole point was that the spa removes what the person thinks is toxic about themselves, explaining why the "good Rick" no longer cares for Morty

but it should remove what's bad and not add anything good. Morty lacks confidence becouse he knows he is dumb e untallented, so the "good Morty" should be getting in bad situations due to being overconfident. Instead he also became unexplainably talented and successful

He doesn't care about Morty, he has an unhealthy attachment to him, it's one of Rick's toxic attributes. Only reason Jessica agreed to help Rick was because Rick kept bugging her about it so she caved in and decided to help him to get Rick off of her ass about it.

...

What implied that he was a sociopath?

Seriously, there was nothing in this episode that hinted at the fact that he was either unhappy or trying to kill people.

The only stretch I can make is that Morty sounded like his dad when he repeated the phrase, "Is this Organic?" Maybe they were going with that angle that Morty was now a gear in the system, unable to be human, but from everything in the episode, he was both happy and successful.

(Or, the show would be vastly different now that we solved the character conflicts and we can't have changes, huh?)

On that mental note, If we could remove all, or even a fraction, the toxic filth from ourselves, sure some 'character' would be gone, but wouldn't that ultimately be for the best? Isn't that what we strive for as we push the proverbial bolder up the hill? To be free of the failings of the human mind to be a better person for everyone?

They are.

Oh. So we like Morty now?

Last week he was and asshole for mutating Ethan and Sup Forums wanted Morty murdered for ir

Fuck you, contrarian shits

Well fuck me then!

I don't think that was 100% what actually happened since Rick and Jessica were circling around the issue to hide their intentions/being tsun about the whole shit. Idk, I hope we see more of Jessica in the season desu.

I don't think that's how she phrased it, didn't she ask if he got the old morty back because new-morty is weirdly intense and does shit like be a 14 year old stockbroker

I liked the voltron drones

I was less cynical about it and thought she was worried about a classmate. That whole "good to have you back" thing seemed to me like being friendly with someone you're worried will try to kill himself.

>Can't change opinion on a character based on what he recently does.
I mean if they made Morty into a serial rapist next episode would hating him still be contrarian? You should take your head up your ass since you clearly have shit for brains.

>Stockbrokers are parasitic.

The growth of capital and corporate globalism has done more to improve living conditions and uplift people from misery over the last 50 years than anything socialism or communism has done.

he typed from mommy's basement

well what do you know, the premise of the episode is a contrivance to demonstrate that rick is right once again

what a great show what will they think of next, "people who seem nice are actually bad all along and deserve to be killed" shocking twist, good thing rick's infinite wisdom can see the truth of the universe

Notice how he deliberately fled in order not to get re-merged, notice how not hanging up is called an accident.

Yeah I agree. She's even saw how rude it was to lie to Morty on her date and decide to come clean that she wasn't interested.

I mean she did go to the Smith's place to bug Rick (if that was even true), I mean why go out of the way in the first place? Getting Drunk dialed is an easy fix, just block the number.

That hurt.

>What implied that he was a sociopath?
Was the Wolf of Wall Street segment where he literally gets called a monster after selling someone worthless stock not enough?

How about referencing American Psycho? Too subtle for you?

>admiting to being a contrarian who can't hold an opinion for more than 7 days

noo wonder Sup Forums is shit

Jaqueline mentions that Morty makes use of his "lack of a conscience" to become a succesful stock broker. Our introduction to stockbroker Morty is him pushing a shady deal on an unsuspecting client.

He also said to Rick "you wouldn't want me to be unhealthy would you?"

>I don't think that's how she phrased it
The line is literally "She kept coming to our house, Morty, and asking me 'Did you get a new Morty yet!?'"

Are you telling me you don't change your opinion on a Cartoon Character based on the latest episode? So if the character was a hero in the first episode and starts killing 2 episodes later, would hating them be contrarian? Also Sup Forums isn't a hivemind shit for brains, you should be able to form your opinion without asking Sup Forums about it.

All either capitalism and Marxism have done is enrich a few parasites at the cost of the social hierarchy, the Church, and the family. The only realistic form of government is a God-Chosen Emperor with absolute authority over the subhumans

He probably can't even do that. Im surprised when ever any one ever takes anything here or other boards seriously. Only come for the laughs

God, you are an absolute jew retard

>No longer cares for Morty
No, he still cares for Morty. He just severed his unhealthy obsession/attachment with him. No more 'It's you and me against the world' shit that he kept going on about in the series.

The recent 100 years speech being the best example. Hundred years rick and morty and all that shit. He felt his mentality of 'Its just me and you kid against the universe' was bad, so it was removed.

He still liked him when the toxins were removed, obviously it wasn't the love that was removed but the obsession/attachment.

The detox chamber was an allegory for meds right?

I like that Rick genuinely cares.

Kinda, I mean it borders on the obsessive side.

The way toxic rick reacted showed that very well

It certainly could be interpreted that way, yeah.
The whole "It doesn't know the difference between what's good and bad" and talking about how it's all relative to the individual is definitely true for some medications that cause mental changes

>God isn't real!
>Capitalist is bad!
>dude organic
whats with this shows liberal agenda?

>The only realistic form of government is a God-Chosen Emperor with absolute authority over the subhumans
cause that really worked out well for Eastern Aisa

This whole argument breaks apart when you remember someone has to die (Toxic Morty) for him to be successful.

Prosperous, powerful, soon to have the world's only superpower. Your point?

>Animated show has a liberal agenda

It would be easier to name shows that don't you dumb newfag.

Uplifted from poverty? Sure.

From misery though? Man that shit doesn't go away.

>The one asshole who thinks he's above it all.

>"It doesn't know the difference between what's good and bad"

Wut?

"Isn't his original morty"

Got any proof? Rick is C-137, and this is Morty C-137

@94957824
Lmao
did I trigger you also not an argument

Why does toxic Rick say Hell isn't real when he's met the devil

It's actually saying
>God is real and only dicks don't believe/mucus Rick is so up his own ass he considers himself a god, so no other can exist/god isn't real you fucking retarded nigger
>The most successful people are the ones who talk the most shit
>Organic shit is stupid

Because Rick and Morty prefers to tell, not show.

I think this was a pretty okay ep, people are getting hung up on not knowing what a sociopath is and trying to find deeper meaning in some jokes (especially the atheist jokes calm down user jesus dick).

Yeah being a failure who can't do anything right, can't pick up girls, is retarded, and is a loser sure is better than were he was in life at that point.

is Rick and Morty too intelligent of a show for Sup Forums?

stockbrokers being sociopaths is some liberal delusions though born from jealously. Taking advantage of idiots is how businesses work

Also some good movies to draw back on

I'm still trying to figure out if Jess really does like Morty. On one had, she's aware that the Morty she went out with was only half of who he is and showed her the potential he does have within himself to be confident, on the other she might not want the crazy life associated with Morty. So I guess it's a toss up if she wants a project with the random adventure, or a everyday Chad

We've gotten a few glimpses of this Rick with baby Morty, which shouldn't have happened because C-137 Rick hadn't contacted his family since before Morty was born. The implication being that Rick's actually from a different dimension and only pretending he's from C-137.

>Taking advantage of idiots is how businesses work
No, it's how parasites work. There's a reason these mongs get nothing but hate from the general population. Any one of those scrubs could have studied to be an engineer and actually built something useful instead of becoming a vulture and trying to make money off of other people's backs.

t. Jew

Stock meme are literally harmful to society.

and who do you think gets the funding for these engineers? you think the engineers would be able to do anything if their company didnt have investors? didnt have people to sell their shit?

But Rick is a fucking nihilist anyway do that's stupid

Sociopaths lie to ingratiate themselves. Cleansed Morty was approaching manic and able to be upfront and truthful to people about who he was. Smooth talking is not being a sociopath.

there's only one cartoon too intelligent for Sup Forums

I honestly wonder if Sup Forums has ever watched Xavier or Sup Forums has just taken over.

>and who do you think gets the funding for these engineers?
As I look into the past of how companies like Daimler-Benz got started, it seems like at some point engineers could just build a thing and it'd sell good enough to fund the company by itself. Functioning industry is literally the antidote to stock market bullshit retardation.

He pretends to be but he isn't

the chamber's only way to tell what it should remove is based on what the person thinks is "bad" to be removed... but not everyone has a good understand of what's "bad" with themselves

Sociopaths lack a conscience. This was very clear with Rick's sudden manifestation of a general conscience for contrast. Detox morty was a monster.

Xavier is the good stuff dude.

For fuck's sake, the show literally says out loud that he has no moral code

You people have the memory and attention span of a goldfish

Are you saying this honestly or as a meme?
Because I can't tell in Sup Forums TV.

Alright what implied that he was a sociopath besides the labels other people stuck him with

So was Morty totally cool with Rick tracing his call because he literally couldn't be mad about it, or because he already planned ahead for it?
Because it obviously seems like status quo has been restored, but detoxified Morty seemed a little too cool with the whole thing considering he was perfectly willing to get the fuck out of there before when he had the chance to be united with his toxins.

He destroyed the council, he literally can't cash in his coupon.

>what implied he was a sociopath besides two extremely obvious movie references and multiple characters stating it out loud
Being totally fine with letting toxic morty die and not giving a shit that that one girl got put in the tank

Interesting posit. The typical counter-argument is that its our imperfections and flaws that allow us to appreciate our better halves all the more, so taken away, our "best" is just our "typical" and thus becomes unappreciated and meaningless to us. Ideally, a person holds onto those character flaws and chooses to go the higher path in spite of his darker temptations- because without that internal choice, there is no proof of moral character, just a robot following what limited programming it has.

The argument thus changes to whether it's better to be a happy robot or a flawed human. Is constant bliss worth it if you lose all right to make your own decisions forever? Is a comfortable destination worth more than a meaningful journey?

A disproportionate percentage of high corporate executives register on the sociopathic/psychopathic spectrum.

It's just the nature of buisiness, the more cutthroat you are the more likely you are to succeed.

Nothing good was added. That's Morty all the time without his low self esteem, shame, etc. Morty is naturally talented, brilliant, etc. He just has emotional problems that get in the way. None of which are helped by his codependancy with Rick.

>ep1s3 showed Rick as an omnipotent god
>in this ep Rick gets into an adventure that's over his head, has a mental breakdown, and even admits he was fucked and is lucky to be alive
consistency please?

Honestly

>feeling empathy for the physical incarnation of all your negative psychological attributes you have JUST witnessed try to turn the world into a toxic waste dump

wew lad

>not giving a shit about that one girl got put in the tank
Well I'm glad that they brought her out after they re-constituted themselves, then, aren't I-

Awww, FUCK, no, wait, they completely wrote her off altogether regardless.

>In the same episode Toxic Rick has a wild rant about his delusions of being a God

Come on.

Good argument. I'm sure you're an asset to your community with such nuanced articulation.

Healthy Morty is the real nihilist. He just exists, fulfills his short-term wants, and has no emotional attachment to anything.

Honestly; few shows achieve the level of surrealism Xavier does while remaining coherent and engaging, but it does. The creators' love for wordplay and non sequitur are endearing, serving to win the audience over to the show's nonsense logic and whimsical spirit. Combined the effect is immersive rather than bemusing, and the somewhat maligned status of Xavier in-universe means you can laugh both at and with him as necessary which for a comedy is good value for money. Taste is subjective and Xavier especially so but it's got heart and some top notch one-liners.

once again, the blame is placed solely on the male when that is most successful strategy of finding sex partners and mates is to have no conscience. absolutely no criticism of female behavior here whatsoever, the portion of humanity that rewards what you assholes are bitching about

>Morty lacks confidence becouse he knows he is dumb e untallented
Morty lacks confidence has low self-esteem because he and everyone else thinks he's dumb and untalented when in reality he's not. Defusing neutron bombs is something he learned how to do when Rick gets wasted, imagine what other skills he's picked up on in their adventures.

Oh boy, can't wait until the next episode where they throw away any and all character development.

The exploration of the families problems and psychology was easily the most interesting aspect of the show, but they always throw it away the very next episode. It's such a shame really, because there's a lot of unrealized potential in some of these characters. Rick and Morty honestly has some very touching, human moments and it really fucking sucks to see them wasted like this.

If Morty was a woman going after and being with adult men there would've been outrage, but because Morty is male, having him get together with adult women is perfectly acceptable.

off by one. kys. also what are you complaining about?

you're dumb. that's dumb. feudalism is the most unstable form of government. it's completely capitalistic. you were just complaining about capitalism too.

wew lad. you're a piece of shit.

You beat me to it. He gave up and didn't care, you can almost see him wanting to go back

Pedophilia is more acceptable when its boys with women than it is for girls with men.
>Morty gets together with the woman from the restaurant
>Morty is shown to be living with a clearly adult woman

>literally complaining about resources not flowing towards you with no work or contribution

And??? so what? We should protect our girls. What's the problem?

So it's acceptable for a 14 year old boy to be in a sexual relationship with a 20+ year old woman? That's acceptable to you?

No you dumbass. Rick had already traced him, he knew that. He left the call on because he wanted Jessica to hear him talk about his date with his new hottie. How did you people miss this?
