I saw an user post that some movies are money laundering schemes and aren't intended to be profitable or necessarily break even in order to succeed, which leads to super shitty movie releases. Is this true? If so, what are movies that did this?

That's true, but it's mostly really shitty direct to DVD/VOD stuff you've never heard of and porn.
There's definitely some sketchy accounting done in Hollywood, but that's nothing compared to the straight up money laundering of Steven Seagal's Russian financed movies.

Uwe Boll's movies were money laundering.

>what are movies that did this?
A Day With SpongeBob SquarePants

this.
all the actors were also forced to do this shitfest to honor contractual agreements with the studio.
they werent paid although the accounts said they were,

The Dark Knight Rises

That’s the only explanation how that movie could otherwise afford such a large cast. Likely through a bone to some first time writer or some fetish producer to just make some stupid shit.

tfw the plot of the Producers has become reality

Tegan and Sara look like *THAT*!?

The Fantastic Four films with Jessica Alba come to mind.

hollywood accounting is nuts, it goes in the other direction too, movies that make an absolute fuckload of money but they shuffle shit around so the accounts say it never made a profit, to avoid paying out on certain contracts.

LOTR is a good example of that.

Spring time, for Hitler, and Germany

>that gif

The jew did this

But didn't some of the actors join in because many other big names already had?

>jews stopped us from marrying 13 year olds to get a bigger work force and make people procreate older and weaker
>keep sexualizing young girls on the midia
I dont get it, what is their end game?!?

Not exactly money laundering bit still bold

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uwe_Boll#Financing
>In the DVD commentary of Alone in the Dark, Boll explains how he funds his films: "Maybe you know it but it's not so easy to finance movies in total. And the reason I am able to do these kind of movies is I have a tax shelter fund in Germany, and if you invest in a movie in Germany you get basically fifty percent back from the government."
>Boll has received significant negative publicity regarding this funding method, attributed to a loophole in the German tax laws that was finally closed in 2006.

Anything by Adam Sandler at this point.

And the other F4 movies (1994 and 2015) were made for the sole reason of keeping the movie rights of thee characters
