Why?

Why?

It's a bad movie. Audiences are always idiots and critics are always pretentious.

A juvenile, ugly movie that represents the worst tendencies of directors channelling Tarantino.

And that's exactly why audiences like it.

It's "bad ass" but a pretty bad movie. People I know who love it like the jokes and the blood. I'm fine with it, even I kind of like it for a good action romp.

There was a FIREFIIIIIIIIGHT

rotten tomatoes is shit but boondock saints is a terrible movie

what's wrong with childishness? no idea why you think its ugly though. I think you just went for the first 'bad' adjective that came into your head.

Just an awful movie that I was memed into watching

Because only the people that are going to like Boondock Saints actually watching Boondock Saints, and thus review it. Whereas, ALL movie critics have to watch pretty much all movies, and review them. 20% of the general population liking Boondock Saints sounds about right tbqhwy.

it's honestly not good, Dafoe is the only decent part of it

I've never understood why it's so beloved

the only people i have ever met that like this movie are total douchebags

One of the worst cult classics ever.

People are unable to relax and enjoy this movie for what it is and instead have to exaggerate all its flaws. I loved it, it's like one of those b list westernised hong Kong action movies that are terriblely dubbed from the late 80's-90's, but set in NYC with Irish guys instead of Asians

This. DeFoe must have realized exactly what kind of turd he was making because he's fucking hilarious but every moment without him is pretty much pure cringe.

Good answer.

It's the epitome of post-Tarantino edge with even less substance.

there are plenty of 'stupid but enjoyable' movies, this is just a stupid piece of shit

so why isnt every single audience score of any movie 90+ then ?

>some shitty stock fiddle jig starts playing

One guy with six guns.

I thought that movie was great when I was 15. Saw it again years later and it’s nearly unwatchable.

They probably pretty much are across the board for cult classics, even though the movie is objectively terrible.

Boondock Saints is a fucking great movie if you’re fifteen though

i havent seen this movie in like 10 years. is it worth rewatching? i was basically a child back then and dont want to ruin my fond memories

no, it's garbage

precisely 5 years after one turns 10 is the only time it is acceptable to enjoy this movie

I rather started to enjoy it more the older I got as I could relate and understand all the characters a bit better. Especially with the concept of them questioning about why shouldn't they just be vigilantes? Most films really don't cover that sort of thing and instead of doing that just have one character that does it because it's suppose to be the right thing as explained by a person that tragically died soon after.

>pour the drink, you fairy fuck
>What the hell are you doing? "snuggling" what a fag

Best gay character ever

Everyone I've met loves this movie, it's weird. Dafoe's over the top character is the only redeeming part of the movie for me. Motherfucker is chewing up that scenery and having a good time doing it.

Its a terrible movie its just extremely fun. I love it personally but the rating is not crazy.

You just have limited taste

(((rotten tomatoes)))

>boondock saints is objectively terrible
