Yeah, that whole terrorist training camp plot thread was fucking abysmal. Apparently they changed the motivation for the how though, and it made more sense in the book? The ending revelation was a bit too Midsomer Murders for me. Overall it was a solid C+.

Other than that I enjoyed the show and how it unfolded. From learning how is life now, to the investigation on the guys death, to the flashback episode, to the actual plot with his sister. Watched it in 4K and it was really immersive too.

Also they got badassery wrong. They thought if they crammed a fistfight in every episode, they were going to gain cool points, when in reality noone wants to see a lot of bad choreographed fistfights.

Mediocre show, butchered the book quite badly. And it's not even a difficult book to adapt.
Single POV, Kovacs, and get rid of all sideplots and characters that don't belong. Done.
