Actually you need a really high IQ to even begin to understand Annihilation :^)
flop confirmed then, pleb prefer capeshit
as a grown up would i enjoy this film?
Damn I’m kind of expecting this to suck
if you've ever watched an alex garland script, one needs not to worry about feeling capable of understanding any themes or questions raised, the level of intelligence required for this ride is no greater than any girl you know on facebook talking about black mirror on netflix
expect a terrible 3rd act and interracial sex
um, actually sweetie, this film is going to be VERY problematic
Does this explain the unusually low RT score for a 2018 film? Many of the critics are simply too stupid to understand this film?
Agreed, Annihilation is a great story, I'd rank it even higher than infinity gauntlet
>only those who actively enjoy thinking about and dissecting multiple themes need only apply
Pls tell me this is fake.
Well, the book has an awful third act. He couldn't fuck it up more than that.
Smug critics, these shits are nothing
>to be fair
>where only those who actively enjoy thinking about and dissecting multiple themes need only apply
>only those who enjoy need only apply
Looks like he didn't even bother to "dissect" his one line review
Fucking christ this shit never ends
oh it's gonna
Look, only the smarts need only to apply only sweaty.
Jesus. I hope Garland doesn't get maligned because of fawning idiots like this. Ever since I was a teenager and discovered his first novel I've been a fan. Still breaks my heart that he abandoned literature for Hollywood, but he's always been an upfront guy who makes quality entertainment. The uppity 'intellectual' crowd need to fuck off.
As someone who has already seen the film, and was a reader prior to seeing it, the film is genuinely great.
Garland honeslty fixes a lot of where the books fails and makes a great sci-fi film.
I didn't enjoy the final act of the book but the film showcases and twists certain elements to make it a lot better.
>only those
>need only apply
Only: The Movie when?
That's good to hear. Thanks, user. I didn't doubt Garland, I just don't want his name being associated with the sort of insufferable idiots who act high and mighty for liking certain pieces of entertainment. Can't wait to see the movie.
Yeah I hate that shit too, it just isolates audiences and makes certain genres look like shit.
But yeah, I think you'll enjoy it if you like other stuff that's similar.
>... only those who actively enjoy thinking about and dissecting themes need only apply
>using the same word twice in a sentence when deleting either one would allow the sentence to keep the same meaning
I bet that motherfucker posts on Sup Forums
>gatekeeping films
Just saw it. It was p good.
>one needs not to worry
Did you and Robert Kojder go to the same high school?
you need not apply
Just got out of the theater and it was really interesting. One scene towards the end is absolutely terrifying.
People keep comparing it to Arrival though, that doesn't sound good to me
Listen to this guy. A lot of the out of place stuff (particularly with the psychologists) is fixed. The movie ends a little worse, but the rest of it is honestly pretty good. The horror is done well, with no cheap jump scares. There are also a couple fantastic visuals.
>interracial sex
Fuck he was right.
