I liked Iron Man's aesthetic. I just hate that mcu is basically IM1 but with different heroes. It's just boring. And I also like that in IM, it felt a lot more standalone? It felt like Tony Stark was the only hero in the world, which is what I liked in these kinds of movies. It gives each action the hero chooses gravity. Like in Spiderman 2, where Peter gives up his Klan gig and tries to live in appreciation of diversity. But NY goes to shit and he has to save the day, so he has to chose between saving the minorities, or fulfilling his bloodborn duty. Even with Raimi's insane racism, Peter's decisions had a huge impact on the world.

Nowadays, the MCU "apparently" had all this shit going on right before Tony Stark got his tech. And apparently, Tony finding the tech and developing the Iron Man suit set off a chain reaction of good super heroes (which will probably be a plot point too). And nowadays, if a hero is getting rekt, Tony or another Avenger can just pop up and help save the day! Being part of a greater universe doesn't have same gravity or suspense that a standalone movie would.
