what's a codec
wuts uh cumpootor
>photoshop filter used to prove some point
What is this, an infomercial?
It's an old codec but it checks out
so everyone's supposed to know everything now?
>ability to have a decent image at low bitrate means it is great at high bitrate
i like my films with grain, so i generally only watch dvdscreen or the first yify releases
The blocks are still there in h265, they're just harder to see in still frames, as they're smoothed out.
This becomes pointless at higher bitrates.
EAT Y'SELF FITTER
>1080p
>400kbps
Redpill me on codecs and bitrates
Sometimes i use rarbg 720p mp4s and sometimes 1080 amzwebrips but the amzwebrips are usually really shit for some reason when it says "1080p"
BDrip>WebDL>Webrip
Best is x265 10 bits, quality is better than a 264 at half the size.
If not available go with a high bitrate x264
And stop using VLC, MPC-HC/MPV are better.
is madvr worth the little lag
>10 bits
>High bitrate
What does this mean how high do you categorise "high" for a tv/movie
>are usually really shit for some reason when it says "1080p"
Resolution and bitrate are separate things. You can make a video file with any resolution and any bitrate you want. There are also no standards at all to use x birate for x resolution (which is pointless because every movie has different needs)
It's up to the encoder to make sure the bitrate isn't starved for the resolution.
I can't tell the difference on my phone so what does it matter?
>he doesn't know everything
When you can know the answer in 5 seconds with a simple google search, then yes.
>400kbps
lol, I'm not watching anything at that bitrate nigga. Not even streaming shit nigga. Not even youtube shit nigga. Like I got 70/70MBit unlimited internet nigga you think I give a fuck about filesize.
