Would have been a much better movie if it wasn't confined by being a focus-tested Marvel movie.

Start the movie with Michael B. Jordan carrying a body bag up to a bunch of farmers eyeing him in suspicion. The entire bit with helping Claue, saving Claue, double-crossing Claue, and then using his body as a bargaining chip into Wakanda wasted like 45 minutes of the movie's time.

I liked the first half of the movie where its all world building. I was happy with African Crusader Kings succession crisis.

And then the capeshit shlock and the non-ritual combat fight scenes ruined it.

Good movie, but a lot of room for improvement. I really liked the aesthetic and the spiritual side of stuff was cool as hell. Liked almost all of the cast and there was some interesting stuff in there that ended up getting smothered in a long 20 minute action scene that was stupid.

Martin Freeman's character was pretty pointless. I guess he was there so he could ask questions for the sake of the audience. He didn't really need to be there. His only influence on anything was being a good pilot, but they didn't really show him doing anything other than playing a video game. They needed an outsider for the ragtag resistance for Wakanda, especially with whether or not Wakanda will expose itself to the outside world and work with everyone else as the lynch pin of the story, but he was pretty pointless. The movie didn't have enough time.

is kind of what I think too for streamlining it. Don't really need any of that Busan shit in the movie as it was only to try and appeal to Asian markets and advertise Lexus. It was a long stupid commercial. Shame they had to kill of Claue though. Serkis hamming it up as a bad guy who loves being bad was really entertaining and it made a lot of the other characters feel lifeless in comparison.

It was the perfect opportunity to show off advanced Wakandan weaponry tearing life and limb with extreme efficiency unknown to the world and not have lasershield pillow fights with rhinos.

I really enjoyed it, and thought that they really wasted Killmonger by killing him off. He was such a good villain, and extremely charismatic.

I was surprised by how political they got, with the whole African versus African diaspora thing going on there.

It gave a pretty clear look at the difference between Black People and Nig*ers.
Good guys: Educated, classy, noble Black People who want to share their knowledge and resources with the world.
Bad Guys: #1: Some N-word from Oakland whose daddy got killed in a project, so he's all pissed off at white people. So, his plan is to arm black people to start a "revolution." And #2, someone who is LITERALLY a Man-Ape, but who, when provided with proper resources, can see past his own immediate needs to help a greater good.
