I don't remember the last time I was excited for anything.
fucked up that post didn't you.
Even if you're not into capeshit and sci-fi 2017 had Dunkirk, Wind River, Baby Driver, Logan Lucky, I Tonya, Phantom Thread.... a pretty good year for my marbles
>theirs
i thought dunkirk and bladerunner were decent i couldn't finish logan lucky and don't want to body with tonya or phantom
>body
"bother"
me too, bro
Gotta find another hobby
why are movies so bad these days?
>my friend over there thinks u cute but he a lil shy
dishonesty
Same
(sigh)
Yeah I hope you have at least 1-2 other activities you do for fun besides just watching TV and movies op; or that's gonna drive you mad
in what way?
the kind of film that is in the media long enough beforehand to theoretically get excited about almost never is worth any excitement. all my favorite theatrical experiences these days come from watching new films I know absolutely nothing about at film festivals. plenty of duds there too but the sense of real discovery when you are among the first to see something great is where it's at.
tl;dr, get off your ass, stop watching capeshit torrents and visit some film festivals
i like other things i just feel like i dunno their were 4-6 really good movies each year that came out regularly
and then well since maybe 2015 things have turned to shit
because the most targeted audience is teens and adolescents and you are neither of those any more
digital cinematography is inherently dishonest
yeah but remember euro trip and oldschool
they still hold up to this day as funny
reddit cope
>things are the same!!1 ur just older!
kys
in what way?
>theirs less and less films
You are a nigger. I hope you're not American, mud boy.
>there are fewer and fewer films
the artificiality of the method used to capture images and then manipulate them as opposed to the documentarian style of film photography
Try Super Dark Times, Donald Cried and Shot Caller
>the movies I were most excited for last year were Bright, Mute, and God Particle
>they all get shoved on Netflix
go on?
The last time I was excited for something was Fallout 4.
And we all know how that turned out.
thats it
>And we all know how that turned out.
better than any game released since?
It was decent at best
and still nothing better has been released
it was the only good AAA game made since 2010
like look at that leak about bond
they don't even create films anymore its just like 5 dot points on recent trends in other films that seems to be popular and throw in a recent meme
>why are movies so bad these days
Globalism means screenwriters dumb their shit down, and dial the crappy spectacle up
Mexicans now make up the most frequent moviegoers in the US. This is a fact. And it's had an effect. For instance, the subtle jabbing at the Japanese in Die Hard would totally be lost on beaner adults.
The death of practical effects hurt horror, Sci-fi, fantasy, and action. You'd think the Walking Dead's practical effects would make Hollywood take note, but nope. This is why Mission Impossible now seems fresh again.
Comedy has become too high concept, too raunchy yet not sexy. Compare Bad Moms to Dirty Rotten Soundrels, or A Fish Called Wanda. Even the title Bad Moms is reflective of Chinese conformity.
This is the year streaming fully eclipses movies. Not only are the mediums blurring, a decade+ after YouTube, but studios must now build universes and this sucks resources and release slots.
A huge problem is the erosion and erasure of film journalism and coverage. Studios have basically won the battle, and now any big movie site is shills. This is a problem because cool directors not into capeshit aren't being interviewed and getting exposure. Can you name one cool film writer anymore? Or website? AV Club is shit.
Piracy has had an effect, not financially as much as psychologically. Americans don't cherish movies the way they used to. They feel more disposable when downloaded and streamed. It's like gourmet dinners lumped in with thousands of McDonalds. The lack of packaging, tangible experience, hurts as well.
The ubiquity of cameras means the movie is losing its frame of importance each year. We are ready for a new medium, not movie, tv show, or videogame, something like Videodrome, a mix of cam girls and drama, hologrammed to your living room, customizable in real time. Not as commitment oriented as VR. Breezy. Like ASMR but entertaining and serialized.
We really need to start gassing the soyim that produce and consume capeshit.
that was fake
nice synopsis and ideas on where its all gone wrong
but on second tought it's safe to say they probably do operate like that
post proofs
no
GTA V and Skyrim were good though
They totally operate like that. Remember Natalie Portman's bitchy emails about Israel from the "North Korea hack"? She's in a thread with multiple Jews including Pascal talking about Israel lol. It's so shallow.
Blade Runner was the best movie i've seen in cinemas in many many years but i didn't expected nor i was excited when i went to see it. In fact, i entered the cinema with a desire to hate it with all my heart.
what hack? what emails?
see
they were all shit
Check this shit out lol

Absolute nepotism folks.
>Toy Story 3 came out 8 years ago
>hollacast
lmfao
this is another thing i use to be able to watch the odd cgi animated film now theirs like 50 of them a year and their all terrible
>tfw I missed out on the golden age of cinema during the 60s and 70s
