You are what you eat (and drink)

you are what you eat (and drink)

most public water supplies are contaminated with pharmaceutical and other chemicals. that poisons your mind, crippling your ability to think clearly.

the food you eat is who you become. animals in factory farms are turned into zombies - genetically modified, pumped up with hormones and other pharmaceuticals, fed unhealthy diets, given little or no sunshine, inadequate space to move, breathe, socialize, and maintain families. there is no family on a factory farm

if you are what you eat, and you're eating zombies, then...QED

there's no such thing as a free lunch

bump

bumping for interest

so this is another complaint thread

>you are what you eat

Dead ?

it's a self-improvement thread

Actually? There's extraordinarily little evidence that a healthy diet leads to a person being more successful, more intelligent, better informed, or even more attractive.

Research indicates that it's not about what you consume. It's about learning to be conscious of what you consume. It's not the things that you pick. It's the careful consideration before picking.

You are offering no solutions, so it's a complaint and not self improvement.

>no solutions

the solutions are clear. drink clean water. don't eat factory farmed food.

the most healthy and most humane meat is wild. see;

health.clevelandclinic.org/2014/03/fish-faceoff-wild-salmon-vs-farmed-salmon/

Actually oxygen, carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, calcium, and phosphorus. Well, at least 99% those things.

in general, the less processed the better

for one thing, corporate food producers put dairy in tons of processed foods you wouldn't even necessarily expect

make it a habit to read the ingredients. the information is out there, it does depend on you to be vigilant and make the right decisions

Nope.

A ridiculous amount of the dairy you eat isn't even digested.

It's the sugar.

>It's about learning to be conscious of what you consume.

conscientiousness is precisely what I'm talking about

being conscientious and maintaining a healthy and humane diet go hand in hand

>There's extraordinarily little evidence that a healthy diet leads to a person being more successful, more intelligent, better informed, or even more attractive.

bullshit

>bullshit
Go look for those peer reviewed studies.

You're going to find out that they don't exist.

That X food makes Y organ perform better? Sure. That it translates to anything vaguely resembling any form of success?

Nope.

I don't consume dairy at all. Milk is for babies. Cow milk is for baby cows. dairy is a problem; it is infantilizing, there are growth hormones and antibiotics in factory-farmed milk, and the industrial process to extract the milk is highly immoral and cruel. mothers separated from children. males are veal-crated or killed (no value in milk production). females are separated from their mothers, enlisted into the same business. it's marxism - the abolition of the family - in action. living beings treated as mere commodities

that all said, sugar is a problem too, and also how it is produced (see bone char)

Actually how sugar is produced is totally meaningless. Whether it's from a fruit, a soft-drink or straight-outa a lab? It all destroys the human body in the exact same way. We're now finding out that even the dietary supplements that pretend to be sugar, and contain no calories? Simply because they make your body think it's getting sugar, they fuck you up the exact same. Not only does it not matter where the sugar comes from? Doesn't even matter whether it's actually sugar or if it just tastes like it.

The no-dairy thing is fine. Again: considering it is what matters--not consuming it. The idea that it's terrible for you is pretty misinformed, but that you're carefully considering it is more important than whether you consume it.

>Go look for those peer reviewed studies.
>You're going to find out that they don't exist.

Wrong.

>Actually how sugar is produced is totally meaningless.

Actually, you're wrong. How we treat other living beings is among the most meaningful things we can do.

>It all destroys the human body in the exact same way.

Natural is better. human biology has evolved to accommodate natural sources of sugar rather than the artificial sweeteners that come out of a lab, that have been shown to cause cancer.

sugar does not destroy the body. fruit consumption is healthy, for example. too much sugar is bad, but that's true of a lot of things

So I should literally eat the rich? Nice advice. I'm gonna have superman for breakfast. I'm like fucking Kirby right now.

>The idea that it's terrible for you is pretty misinformed, but that you're carefully considering it is more important than whether you consume it.

Dairy is bad for you. It's bad for you because it's bad for the animals, for one thing. "Actions always have consequences; not just physics, morally". It's also bad for you because of the hormones and chemicals in it.

carefully considering leads to choices whether to consume or not.

>the food you eat is who you become.
fuck im gonna be a hotpocket

>You are what you eat.

Activated?

what the fuck do you eat then? Where, as a city living American, do you get "clean water" and "clean meat"

>Where, as a city living American, do you get "clean water"

I'm in Colorado Springs. The water here is pretty clean. Moving soon because of security risks to the city, but that's another story entirely

Springfield MO has clean water. There are others

bestplaces.net/health/city/missouri/springfield

You can look up any city on that site, click on the "Health" tab, and you can see the EPA grade on water quality

and remember kids, it's not just drinking water. it's also what you bathe/shower in, cook with, brew your coffee with, etc.

>clean meat

you have to do your research. even designations like "organic" and "free range" can be misleading

there's a large farm in south dakota that sells bison meat. wild idea bison, it's online

you can buy wild antelope and deer shot on texas farms. broken arrow farms, or something like that. google it

and then there are lots of options for wild fish
