If these additional emails were found legally during a search on another case, no one has to go and get a new warrant.

Well, here's the thing. I always thought of it like this.

Phase 1: Hillary goes away, never heard from again, left to die, good riddance, we move on. She didn't accept that obvious solution.

Phase 2: Arrest her during investigations for any number of crimes potentially including treason, and give her the benefit of our legal system to determine if she is guilty. Sadly, that won't work under an Obama administration.

Phase 3: Stick her in a cage at the Hague awaiting trial for war crimes. This I think is probably the most fair choice for now. It'll be a kangaroo court, but at least she'll get a chance at a legal process. And if they fuck it up we have a good chance of nabbing her back to the US to stand trial for treason and everything else under a Trump administration.

Phase 4: I mean, I guess it has to be the NDAA at this point.

Phase 5: Now what? Something ugly like wetwork? Or maybe she'll have died from the Parkinson's by now?

Congress could do something about it if it wanted. A case could conceivably be brought before the Supreme Court, but that's not feasible on timescale alone. Maybe some other court could get some sort of an injunction in place, but I don't know that it's a good idea to mess with the election process that much. Obama would just pardon / commute anyway.

States could start doing things like recalls to improve the above, but there isn't the time or the will for that.

Sheriffs and proper Grand Juries would probably be the best ways to go here, but they've been largely dismantled so that the Federal government could run roughshod over everything.

It's possible. The thing we know is true is that after Comey let Shillary off the hook, the rank and file FBI agents have been ready to revolt. Comey was still a shill to let Shillary go in July, but, since then, it's possible that he was forced to make up for that gross miscarriage of justice by sending the letters on Friday. Remember, he's in law enforcement. Those people have something in their psychological make-up about doing the right thing when it counts most.

NDAA isn't indictment. It's disappearing you out of a more reasonable jurisdiction without a trace, and requiring Congressional action just to find out that you'd been disappeared.

So...warrants have scopes...Obviously the warrant that granted them access to investigate Wiener's activities does not grant them carte blanche even when they discover evidence of other crimes, which seems to be the issue here. In a normal proceeding it would be no issue, the DOJ would slap out another warrant and stack the charges in the hopes of casting a wider net, or more leverage to motivate a defendant to testify on the behalf of the government...this is literally all the Feds do all day. Perhaps the greatest proof that Clinton is getting special treatment is this drastic and obvious deviation from the standard operation procedure by the Feds...no one, I repeat no one, ever gets this treatment.
