No one in the middle ages or early modern era was fighting the Ottomans or other Muslim states due to some kind of civilization or racial attitude. Whites/Europeans/Christians of all denominations were always willing to work with the Muslims if it was strategically beneficial for them. It just so happens that at the Battle of Vienna, and indeed, Lepanto, Tours, the Reconquista, etc, accidentally saved our race and civilization. I would have to go with the battle of Waterloo in 1815. I admire the French Empire's ability to conquer Europe despite the several coalitions formed against them. And even in defeat, they still fight with newfound strength & numbers. That moment when Napoleon came back from his first exile, rallying the citizens of France behind him. And when he did come into contact with a French Army, what he said gave me much more respect for the man.
