Hmmm ... I'm not a fan of King's Batman ( dropped it after I Am Suicide ); but a big part of that is/was the crappy poser "art." Now I'll have to check this out and see if he's gotten over his stage fright ( it's either that or Editorial fuckery because I've literally enjoyed every other comic I've read by him ).

The fuck is dark matter?

Or he's been a fucking hack this whole time and you're just now realizing it.

>(W) James Tynion IV
plz stop

it's kinda annoying how anything that could have been interesting here is tba, like is tynion not doing the tmnt/batman sequel? Who the fuck is writing justice league now? all this other stuff was common knowledge

OP, you missed out the Darkseid #1 Solicit.

Remember how everybody moans about their not being new heroes? Well this is pretty much a whole new line of them. Watch them all be under 20k by issue #2

>Deadman
>Neal Adams

Picked the fuck up!

Or he's just not a good fit for Batman

He thinks he's worthy of 100 issues.

Might be interesting.

difference is these books have writers and artists with somewhat big followings, these books will survive for a little while.

Be fair, would you want to give up the crown jewel of the entire comic medium?

>Or he's been a fucking hack this whole time and you're just now realizing it.
I liked Sherif of Babylon fine and Vision was my favorite comic of the last year or two so I was pretty hyped to have him on Batman ( or, really, ANYONE other than Snyder ). And I know from the storytimes that I'm FAR from the only person who read the first 2 or 3 arcs on Bats and wondered what the fuck happened.

But, then, I'm not a 12 year old Sup Forumsntrarian who reflexively hates anything that's popular.

baby darkseid adventures?

He just cant get the voice right and has stupid shit like "Bat, Cat". You cant just add that like it's something they always called each other. It just doesn't work

Who is?
No, seriously, Sup Forums hates every Batman writer.

I have an unpopular opinion.
As dumb as the whole lead up to that was I was hype for baby darkseid stuff

I like bob kane.

He wrote a couple of good Batman comics. It seems like Rebirth's fault. Johns is ghost writing for everyone, which explains why every comic is mediocre.

t. retard who only seldom browses PREVIEWSworld.com

No "The Terrifics" yet? It seems that the creative team is having a problem making this one done.
Doc Shaner post in his twitter some kind of rant about him not a slave robot worker or something.

It will be someone awful like Humphries. Rebirth drones will rejoice, but it will be anti climatic for the rest.

I looked up the solicit:

BATMAN #33
Written by TOM KING
Art and cover by JOELLE JONES
Variant cover by OLIVIER COIPEL
“A DREAM OF ME” part 1! Following his marriage proposal to Catwoman, Batman leaves Gotham City on a quest of renewal and redemption. As he travels and fights, he encounters members of his family—each disturbed by Batman’s journey, each ready to stand in his way, each ready to push back against Batman’s stubborn determination to evolve into something better than a superhero.
On sale OCTOBER 18 • 32 pg, FC, $2.99 US • RATED T

Sounds like a hard pass to me: my patience for people who sign on to write capeshit and then bend over backwards and put their head up their own ass rather than actually WRITE capeshit is pretty low at best and this looks like an excuse for more flashbacks and talking heads.

only 2 dark matter books each month. Probably won't get terrifics till febuary or something, and that's for the best, if Doc Shanner is a slow artist.

>He just cant get the voice right and has stupid shit like "Bat, Cat".
I hated the dialog, sure; but my main issue was how poorly written the damn thing was. I mean: you *seriously* expect me to believe that fucking BATMAN can't think of any way to land a plane other than going full kamikaze? Of course not. That's classic "Plot Induced Stupidity/Idiot Ball" where he wanted Bats to need a save so he just had him act like a helpless fucktard. Which would be bad ENOUGH but then the very next issue he has Not-Superman and Not-Supergirl get their asses handed to them by Grundy ... whom he literally takes down with one hand. That's just shit writing. Either Bats is a fucking NINJA who can disappear off a roof and even Not-Superman's superdoopervision can't find him ... OR he's all-too-human; but not fucking BOTH in the same fucking arc!

>Johns is ghost writing for everyone,

Do you honestly expect people to take this seriously?

He's always been wildly overrated. I hate it because it's bad writing first, it's compounded by people saying he's the best thing since sliced bread which is emblematic of the big two dying in general.

Wait are you saying the Dark Matter books will be bi monthly or that they're launching 2 each month? Because if it's the former this is already dead

I think you're overreacting

Morrison did a fine job, Snyder and King proceeded to take a steaming dump all over it while poorly ripping him off.

>NEW SUPER MAN #18
For god's sake, did it say anything about if it is the final issue or will it make it to 4 trades and 24 issues?

Enjoy the next issue of Metal.

Yep, I was right.

>emblematic of the big two dying in general.
You might not be too far off with this, bth.

I liked Vision but I also am a long time Marvelfag so I got all the bits and bobs like Grim Reaper being the brother of Wonder Man whom Vision's original brainpatterns were copied from and so on.

Omega Men, on the other hand, just left me scratching my head at what the fuss was about. I thought it was boring. BUT I've never read any Lantern's stuff and only know them from the cartoons and movie and had no idea who the Omega Men were going in.

That seems to be the case with most of Rebrith as well: I only started reading DC with Nu52 so I lack the background to get anything out of most of the nostalgia fagging that goes on in books like Flash, Titans, or Superman.

But that's not so much "uniformly bad writing" as it is "editorially mandated target audience that's not me." Which, of course, is the same problem with most of Marvel only moreso.

It's probably dead , user. The only Rebirth books doing worse are Blue Beetle and Cyborg. Shit even Superwoman is selling better. It bothers me because he was never given a fair shake. A lot of people slagged him off for being another minority replacement, even though Superman was still around

Superwoman is barely selling better at less issues in.

>It's probably dead , user.
Ya. I figured the writing was on the wall when they pulled Viktor Bogdanovic off it and put him on Action.

The latter, that shoudl be obvious by the fact that we only see one issue for these books

Is it just me, or does he do a better Greg Capullo than current Greg Capullo?

Looks like it's the inker.

I am a little sad nobody took my bai.

Johns is definitely playing a big role in dumbing down everything else to his vision of a bland crossover.

>marriage proposal to Catwoman,
Wait what?
I'm a little behind on batman

It doesn't matter, man. None of this matters.

>A lot of people slagged him off for being another minority replacement, even though Superman was still around
Shame. Marvel has to ruin things for everybody.

Yeah he's gonna marry Catwoman because why the fuck not?

Good a reason as any I suppose.
Just bats and cat or bruce and selina?

Fuck, not even him and I'm really loving that book. I want to at least get a good ending.

If it ends at 18 final arc will be that Suicide Squad crossover arc.

>Looks like it's the inker.
I think you're right: same ( art ) team as on image related. They need to get Danny Miki back into the band ( he's wasted on JRjr ).

>yfw the entire cast you've gotten to know over the course of the book gets decapitated by Harley Quinn

>quinn has more lines than the rest of the cast

I think there's a good chance it will be relaunched as JLC. This still hasn't been resolved after all

Forgot pic

They both had their masks off when he proposed so I'd say Bruce and Selina

Speaking of that, why wasn't pic related called Justice League International?

Like for fuck's sake, look at the lineup. They even go to a foreign country in literally the first arc. Did editorial just think the book wouldn't sell unless it was called JLA?

Because they're supposed to represent America.

That page was 10/10.

>Did editorial just think the book wouldn't sell unless it was called JLA?

Probably. And it's annoying that they're right.

>why wasn't pic related called Justice League International?
Because that's not how you spell "Batman and the Outsiders"?

I think Outsiders has a more iconic lineup than JLI though.

gimme muhh Halowaifu

Reminds me I still need to read aquaman and the others.
Wonder if they will ever return to that.

>it's annoying that they're right
It hurts

>dark matter is finally starting
>none of the books I'm excited for are solicited
REEEEEEEEEE

This, i'd like to know at least something about fantastic four.

>I think Outsiders has a more iconic lineup than JLI though.
Sure: but Killer Frost and Lobo don't exactly scream "Justice League" to me and this was explicitly Batman's personal hit squad where JLI was what happened when they realized that having a team that was explicitly endorsed by the US government was going to close as many doors as it opened. These days it's just plain old "Justice League" w/o Europe, International, or America because it's a world wide group with 2/3 of The Trinity having been born elsewhere.

JLA should really operate more or less like the forward face of the DEO, imho.

>>none of the books I'm excited for are solicited
>REEEEEEEEEE
Which would those be? Honestly curious.

>DC UNIVERSE HOLIDAY SPECIAL 2017 #1
I'm glad they seem to be doing one of these every year again.

I'm guessing the ones not solicitated yet.

When does the Terrifics come out?

>HANNA-BARBERA
When the hell is Russell's Snagglepuss starting?

>JLA should really operate more or less like the forward face of the DEO, imho
Please god, not this. Justice League Unlimited was the status quo for like 10 years.

Blue Beetle and Superwoman are apparently ending at #18.

DC can afford keep around 1 or 2 low selling books like Cyborg (since they're trying to make him big and can't have a member of the JL without a solo book) and New Super-Man which is critically loved and has a small yet vocal fanbase, is written by an award winning author and is apparently a Jim Lee darling title.

Hell, Marvel has literally 10 series selling below New Super-Man's numbers in August. So DC should easily be able to keep around 2 low selling books.

I remember Sup Forums lost it's fucking mind at that page. It really was fucking genius. I hope he get's to finish that story.

>why wasn't pic related called Justice League International?
Because literally the only member of the JLI in the book is Batman. It should've been called Batman and the Outsiders.

You haven't read JLI? I recommend it. It's really good.

Not him but Challengers and me Lemire's team. I also want to know what they're going to do with Hawkman.

Niggas why don't y'all buy this in mass

>Lemire's team
I dunno. His X-Men was awful and his Hawkeye was worse.

Even with his creator owned stuff you have Black Hammer ( very good so far ) on the one hand and Plutona which, like his Hawkeye, made me want to hunt him down and punch him in the dick, on the other.

I guess this means Williams is taking over for Manapul? His arc ends in November.

Good maybe Francis is finally working on aquaman earth one

It could be aftermath issue?

So how's Bombshells United?
Still the same team behind it?

10k on issue 3

Batman, Black Canary, Ray and Killer Frost are all Americans

If you like the first run then you'll like United, it doesn't change much
