If you ask me, it's a good call. The show is just a pilot and the fandom is already toxic. They don't really deserve this show. Fans like these need to know their whiny behavior and inability to properly support their things is going to get them nowhere.

There's been a rumor going around for a while now that Miller's trying to target CN at a younger demographic, hence stuff like the kid bumpers and shows that seem more friendly to a younger audience getting greenlit. If you look at their future lineup and how they've been treating shows with wider appeal lately, it doesn't really seem like a stretch,

Finally bothered to watch Infinity Train, and it could have been interesting. Alas, America has no interest in producing more than a handful of new cartoons a year.

Well, it definitely has huge chances of getting greenlit because they even decided to make the pilot because they thought it was worth it. On top of that, IT exploded online and to date is CN's most popular and successful pilot ever, having over 2.7 million views, 190k likes on Youtube and almost 800k views on Facebook, has a petition with 50k people that signed.

Villainous is also a pilot in a way, but it's just a set of shorts and the Spanish upload has over 3.2 million views on Youtube and the Brazilian version has over 900k views.

No matter how you look at it, people really want these 2 and CN probably know they should capitalize on that.

If they haven't by now, the odds are slim. There are far more pilots produced than shows.

The real shift is that the west has gone balls deep in the "smart writing" department. Cartoons in the west aren't really about what's going on onscreen, it's all about the FUNNY JOKES being said or the funny POLITICAL COMMENTARY. Family guy, nu-simpsons, Archer, Bojack, American dad, the new shitty show in the OP, anything out of calarts, and even bob's burgers and rick and morty at times. The characters are just standing there to deliver lines, they're basically just mannequins. The west forgot how to do VISUAL comedy or satisfying action and drama that has weight and is told in a clear visual manner. and the ones that still try to just go for the exaggerated WACKY FACES like oney and and his cartoons.

This was lost because it isn't taught anymore at art schools. I don't understand how the show in the OP can be a kid's show when it relies 100% on the shitty writing, which most kid's won't understand or care for at all. Kid's shows should atleast try to be visually appealing for kids, like adventure time, and have simple writing that still has some smart jokes that only adults would catch. I think we're far enough in the cycle though and soon we can go back to good cartoons that know what they're doing and how to use the medium's strength.
