We've seen her church, and I'm 80% certain they had pews, and people dressed up. Is this some Mandela Effect where she mis-remembers her church???

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it had pews. The auditorium statement is a little weird too, as you wouldn't call a church building an auditorium.

Her church is probably also a community center and has a standalone auditorium/gym.

>Whoring out good christian girls for revenge.

If Joyce's parents raised her to be racist this wouldn't be happening and wouldn't go horribly wrong like you know it will.

Today, I learned that you're supposed to bite a girl's nose off when you're getting ready to have sex.

I'm sure somebody will figure out how to ruin things. It doesn't take much.

Formatting rules have gotten a little more stringent. Here's a link that has everything organized as well as it can be until I have time to update the Dropbox file.

It has just occurred to me that Ruth and Billie have been having violent, loud sex all this time. How did no one hear them? And how did those people hearing them not recognize the distinct voice of the RA and the girl who hates the RA more than anyone other than Mary?

I stand corrected. You can distinctly see that there are individual fold-out chairs.

>getting revenge but developing a cuckloding fetish
Sarah plays a dangerous game

I always found Becky an annoying little shit.

I didn't start to genuinely loathe her untill the final panel of that strip.

...

A church is where two or three gather in His name, pews are redundant.

>they soaked Dorothy and Walky so now they're friends
Umm.

Apparently biting your girlfriend's jaw is a sex move as well, according to the comic.
Also, are we to assume that the new porn comic takes place during the three-day time skip?

Maybe the walls just have excellent soundproofing?

Let's just be glad that Willis has chosen to keep her corra-- Oh, wait, apparently she and Joyce are going to church together.

Oi.

So we finally get the admission. It was pretty obvious but it's nice to get things laid out.

We have Joyce who is super turned on by Jacob but trying to suppress those urges (being depicted as her not understanding that she finds those things hot herself, which is really weird. Unless Willis brings back up the race stuff this Joyce matchmake started with and she just doesn't consider getting with a black dude a possibility), and we have Sarah using Joyce's bubbly personality and rockin' bod to make Jacob cheat.

The thing I have an issue with is Sarah had an emotional moment with Joyce where they promised to make things better. That's why she walks with them to class in an attempt to be social. Seems kinda shitty for Sarah to not tell her what she's actually assuming will happen.

As it stands if Joyce realizes that *she* can enjoy Jacob's muscles herself and things heat up, she'll probably end up lying to Sarah about it because she feels guilty about stealing him.

That's pretty fucking disgraceful of you Becky.

If Joyce kisses Jacob, then she's irreversibly ruined. Not in an Sup Forums or a Sup Forums sense, mind you, but just in general regarding her character and past developments. Remember when she cried in the shower?

Anyways, this preview panel is from deep in November, so it looks like we're gonna be spending a lot of time on this DOA day.

Also, I'm still not versed on Shortpacked lore.

Is Zaph new? I can assume by the name alone he's meant to be a reverse Faz.

Also, despite Malaya's best intentions, Lucy makes a return to DOA in early December, accompanied by no less than three pop culture references.

And the newest preview panel, this one for 6 December 2017.

It's Joyce glaring down on Walky, despite apparently being shorter than he is or something; I dunno.

To be fair, Jacob is fairly chaste, and ideally he wouldn't cheat and even if he did it shouldn't be anything that goes past Joyce's boundaries. If attraction starts to build up it would be slow enough that it should respect her issues.

But I just can't see how that is interesting as a story element. Why set up all these attractions to not have them play out messily.

Also Joyce changes pretty drastically so I don't really expect things we consider elemental to stick around.

This is the only time that noise has been acknowledged

...

Any attraction that slow would come to fruition somewhere around 2025.

Joyce would have to be an idiot considering Sarah explicitly told Joyce to break up Jacob and Raidah in that strip.

Not necessarily. She already went on a date with Joe, tried to hook up with Ryan, and admitted to Joe that sometimes she'd attend both Sunday church services to catch a glimpse of a boy she likes; she's also pretty upfront about coming to college to get her Mrs. degree. Just because she's deeply uncomfortable with the thought of actual sex doesn't mean she's completely phobic of physical romance. The real thing that would ruin her characterization is if she never addresses that her actions are a pretty shitty thing to do. She's operating on a very childish notion of love and romance; you can't have such a glaring immaturity when writing a bildungsroman unless it's supposed to be an explicit character flaw.

Yeah, but she still thinks the end goal is getting him together with Jacob. Sarah has given up on that but Joyce has wanted them together since she first saw Jacob.

If she gets with him I'm sure she'll feel guilty

Oh boy, Joyce is going to go though another "phase" She loses & finds her religious every other week.

The Old Joyce can't come to the phone right now, because SHE'S DEAD.

I'm bummed because this would be a great storyline to have Joyce mature as a person by realizing the selfish and one-track nature of her romantic ideals. Even Jacob has chided her about thinking he and Sarah should hook up because it was based entirely on both of them being black.

So is Joyce at least getting paid for this? Any self respecting girl needs to at least put some value on her body.

>him together with Jacob
Brain fart. Should be him together with Sarah obv.

I wanna also say that Joyce is very strangely oblivious. I cropped all those coquettish, flirty Joyce images from her interactions with Jacob, but she is not cognizant. A few strips ago () she was fetishizing Jacob's Sarah's-torso-sized biceps but only in the context of him using them to hug Sarah.

It works fine as a joke, I guess, but when she's actually going to take action here it gets weird. It's definitely set up for a big realization.

I know that Joyce is being set up to discover dick but this whole Blacked arc is making me uncomfortable. Does willis know how problematic he is being?

I honestly can't tell if you're trolling or inadvertently revealing something about yourself, user.

>Also, are we to assume that the new porn comic takes place during the three-day time skip?
I don't think so. Joyce and Sarah seem perfectly fine. If it was during the skip, I think they'd be more exhausted from all the time spent dealing with the fallout of The Stabbening.

>The thing I have an issue with is Sarah had an emotional moment with Joyce where they promised to make things better. That's why she walks with them to class in an attempt to be social. Seems kinda shitty for Sarah to not tell her what she's actually assuming will happen.
I don't know; I feel like the strip in your post was pretty straight-forward.

>You can succeed where I've failed.
>You can hang out with Jacob, make him understand Raidah is all wrong for him.
>Sure, whoever.
>One way or another, Raidah won't have Jacob anymore.

I think most people would understand what she's getting at. Joyce is distracted by the Sarah hugs, which I don't think was intentional on Sarah's part.

>Is Zaph new? I can assume by the name alone he's meant to be a reverse Faz.
I assume the same. Because I'm sure every Willis fan wants more Faz. No one wants more Faz.

This seems like a pointless endeavor. I think Willis just didn't want to create a new character design and just recycled Faz's.

The only other reference to such things, I think, is when Puddinghead remembered that Ruth's doorknob needed replacing on a regular basis.

At this point, she wants Jacob and Sarah together because she can see how much Sarah likes him. I think the part about them both being black has moved to the very back.

See, I thought she wasn't oblivious, but rather that she's trying to cover up her own feelings developing for him. The second-to-last panel is her crushing hard on him, and the last panel is (what I assumed to be) her trying to move the conversation to Sarah to avoid admitting that she and Jacob felt a connection.

She interprets Sarah's almost entirely physical attraction to Jacob as a connection. If anything she's now displacing the fact that Jacob is more or less exactly what she's looking for in a guy on Sarah.

I'm pretty sure the Ruth's doorknob thing is because Billie broke in that time she was passed out (and maybe another time?)

Dropping this here.

dropbox.com/s/ozt4pr7byhxv6df/Dumbing of Smut.pdf?dl=0

I agree that it's straightforward and Joyce not getting it doesn't make much sense, but Joyce is known to get ideas in her head that need to be shut down with direct response.

At the time I would've believed that. I was even expecting Sarah and Joyce to have words about Jacob afterwards, but nothing came from it, and Joyce has been consistent about the Sarah thing.

That Marcie still-life's not too bad, other than the wretched pinky toe.

I try reading the comic on the site but the pages take forever to load. Is their a better way to view them?

Why does he have to kill the punchline by adding more dialogue?

Also there's no reason Joyce should be indignant, you don't need a specific building with specific furniture to worship.

I hate this comic, but Joyce turns me on. She is literally the only reason I follow these threads

>reading a book about ketchup while masturbating
waifu

It's a ref to 50 Shades of Grey. On Willis' planet, this is hilarious.

Also, goddamn, Willis' Lucy strips show up unusually high when searching for toon Starfire pics.

...

Now that Ryan's out of the picture, Joyce is now free to be sexy in a weird Christian/sister-wife kind of way.

The asian girl is a canary and the black girl is a coal mine? That sounds kind of racist.

What kind of shitty bargain-bin church doesn't even have pews?

Kind of, but the busty asian is going into the black girl's coal mine and won't come up for air until her job is done or she dies trying, so it's also kind of hot.

Is there a reader I can use for the comic? Or is the comic on another site besides the main one?

It's why Shortpacked became a soapbox, you know.

Willis is REALLY going out of his way to show the feet here. Like he's deliberately trying to force the fetish. There is literally no natural way they should be in that position unless you were deliberately wanting to display them

>Willis can actually draw semi-competent bare feet
>Still draws hands that make the characters look like they have boneitis

Wtf user

Drawing hands is difficult

Stop being transphobic

Damn, I can't find the chat on Willy's gay wiki where he flips his shit at innocent fans.

Willis is prepping the female incarnation of his young Christian self to get BLACKED
He better hope his dead grandmother isn't seeing this.

I refuse to believe Willis was ever as nice or happy a person as Joyce. Man's a miserable cunt and if he's a miserable cunt now I'm certain he was a miserable cunt when he was a fundie.

I'm certain of that as well. It would be interesting if he'd dealt with being dressed properly with women's clothes and everything else that Joyce has gone through that is generally specific to women. Like, did Willis have some controversy about how much cleavage is acceptable? Is he secretly a former drag queen?

I want Amber to kill herself and I wish I had the courage to go through with it.

How long until Joyce x Sarah?

Yeah, once he saw he could get traffic and internet cred as an Online Social Commentator with stuff like that, there was no turning back.

I'm just annoyed that that's still one of the first things to pop up when searching for Toon Starfire.

Well since Willy's works take place in an infinite multiverse it'd be completely canon to make a Slipshine featuring them.

It'd be a convenient loophole to his inane "I don't make porn of people who wouldn't want porn made of them" rule. Not that he abides by it, really.

Oh, is that was it was supposed to imply? Silly me thinking it was a racist reference to Joyce about to be BLACKED.

Do it you faggot. You fucking deserve it.

Well, the serious reason is Sarah's basically saying that if Billie approves of her behaviour it's like a canary dying in the coal mine and Sarah should do something else.

But she won't actually do something else, because she's committed to this weird plan. So it's just Sarah insulting Billie as per usual.

Killing yourself is not courageous. You have the power to change within you! I believe in you Amber-hating user!

If I had any fucking balls I would have done it years ago.

I'm shit. I'm always going to be shit. I can't ever have kids because I'm doomed to fucking beating them and repeating what happened to me. I'm never going to love anybody because I know I'm going to hurt them and I won't mean it and I'll drag them down further and further.

I need to be dead. It's the only moral thing I can possibly do but I'm too chickenshit to go through with it myself.

Go get some pills and have a drink

Fear is what makes you human. It's good that you're scared. It means that you don't need to be considering that.

There are people who love you, and you've probably made a difference in someone's life, even if you don't realize it.

Besides, you have hobbies and dreams. They're worth staying alive for. The future is going to be super-interesting, but ... spoilers. You just have to stick around and see what happens.

Just so you know, you aren't obligated to have children. You can have a long, fulfilling life doing things that interest you, rather than tying yourself down with kids you are afraid of hurting.

You don't even have to love anyone. Just learn to love yourself. Go travel so that you won't have any reason to make attachments to people you'll never see again.

This is about as mushy as I'll get on here. I can send you better words of support and resources if you want to e-mail me. [email protected].

>Go get some pills and have a drink
No. Shut your mouth.

I love Mike's parents. I wish we could see more of them and their interactions with Mike.

>No. Shut your mouth.
Fuck it, I've gone through depression shit and all there is for it is patching it up with the chemicals. That and/or exercise.

Self pity doesn't impress me.

Nigga' is that a black Hermione doll?

Yeah, medications help. They're like using a cane. You need to get around and get stuff done, so you need an aid.

Then, you get your life in order while the meds help. Then, when you feel genuinely stable, you can try doing without.

Tried to kill myself a couple years ago but was prevented from doing so. Really changed my outlook. Yeah, I'm still depressed and such, but I'm slowly getting better, little by little.

Everyone copes differently, but being supportive of people who are struggling is helpful.

Of course it is.

Why? It was proven that Rowling always wrote Hermione as white. Shit you go back and every time there's a character that's not white, she goes out of her way to describe their fucking skin color.

Wait shit, why do I care? Black Hermione would make some dank cheesecake.

Oh God it is

Is Lucy's character just "poser"?

Hermione is currently portrayed by a black actress in the stage play.

This is a pretty benign choice. Don't read too much into it.

If it was like... Black Widow as a black woman, that would be more distinctly a strange choice.

Y'know, I didn't even notice that. I thought it was just lighting on a generic Harry Potter dollie.

>implying they allow Muggle arts in Hogwarts
Actually, I'd love to see a wizarding school with a double curriculum of both magic arts and actual real-world skills.

I think so.
Don't forget that her claim to fame is being a Teen Titans cartoon viewer who decided to read one comic book and swear off the medium for life because it wasn't like the cartoon.

Eh, classical theatre has always relied heavily on imagination, and as a result has always carried with it an unspoken disclaimer that the details and specifics aren't important to that story. That tree is obviously cardboard, but for the sake of the story, it's a tree. That "castle" is obviously plywood and 10 feet tall, but with imagination it's a forest. That actress is clearly black, but for the story she's Hermoine. This obviously differs from film where the details are much more important.

The real question here is couldn't that doll just be a black gryffindor character?

>Don't forget that her claim to fame is being a Teen Titans cartoon viewer who decided to read one comic book and swear off the medium for life because it wasn't like the cartoon.
You know, that worked for her because that was around the time of New 52, but with Rebirth going on I wonder what her excuse is these days for not liking comics?

*fortress not forest for fuck's sake

She's a poser

The real story is that Willis just straight up doesn't read any comics except those that he hates, like Mary Worth and Funky Winkerbean.

I would assume Lucy wouldn't read comics for the same reasons, since Willis isn't satirical enough to write Lucy as somebody so obsessed with pop culture and fandom that she has little time to partake in the source material, i.e. the actual TV shows or books or movies, etc.

Due to the sliding timescale Lucy would have been seven when TT went off the air, if anything Lucy would be currently into Teen Titans Go.

His comic knowledge basically consists of Batman Animated, and whatever he gleams from Newsarama & other online news.

IIRC the times he addressed this, where Ethan dropped off some various trades from quality story arcs & creators, she flat out said that's harder than just skimming Scans Daily.

Likewise, Jacob tried to bring up ethnic and/or female writers & artists, and was countered that they were Exceptions to the Rule of the industry, without actually reading any of them.

>Seems kinda shitty for Sarah to not tell her what she's actually assuming will happen

Honestly, while I will always give Willis credit where it's due about drafting some genuinely interesting drama points, he's still got the subtlety of a really bad metaphor.

Sarah (and by proxy Billie) are using Joyce to get back at Raidah. Both Jacob and Joyce to them are just means to an end, so Joyce gets to experience being objectified/used by her close friends, driving her even more into uncertain territory.

Meanwhile for added drama, in order for their plan to be revealed, it needs to succeed to a degree, so Joyce will be
>confused by her feelings for Jacob
>heartbroken that he may cheat on Raidah (with her) even to an emotional tryst level
>conflicted about how she feels about that in relation to how it was thrown upon her by Sarah vs her own willingness in her ignorance of her emotions

It's an interesting setup, but it would've been nice to be a bit less...transparent, at least at first.

What kind of broke-ass church is this?

That only works if Joyce was completely retarded. Joyce knows Jacob is dating Raidah and doesn't care about breaking them up. Jacob dumping Raidah has been her goal for a long time. Joyce also clearly understands that she finds Jacob attractive; the only potential issue is how it will play out between Sarah and Joyce if Jacob does leave Raidah. She's not a naive girl being used by her friends, she's not only complicit but she's been the one pushing Sarah to make a move on Jacob. The crux of the drama in this storyline will be how Jacob responds, how Raidah responds, and how Joyce comes to feel about Jacob assuming that he leaves Raidah. It should also be pointed out that so far Jacob has shown no physical, emotional, or romantic interest in Joyce or Sarah.

Normally you see things like that at storefront churches or any other churches that use buildings not originally designed for worship or holding an audience. What makes it weird is that he showed the outside of the building and it looks like it's a dedicated church building.

>doesn't care about breaking them up
That's entirely what she's doing though. She's trying to get Jacob to break up with Raidah to get with Sarah. She's still under the impression Sarah is the one who wants Jacob, and while she might be semi-aware of her own feelings she's still doing it for Sarah's good. If she finds out Sarah only wanted to get back at Raidah and not benefit from dating Jacob, Joyce would probably feel pretty used, especially when she realizes her own feminine attractiveness was the weapon Sarah would use.

>Willis doesn't read any comics except those that he hates
Oh fuck. And we're somehow compelled to continue reading Willis' comic despite hating it as well.

What the fuck is this, some kind of cosmic cycle of comic hatred being subliminally passed from reader to writer to reader? If someone who hates but reads DoA makes a comic, will it automatically become hated as well due to carrying the seed of hatred?

The seed of hatred is buried in every man's heart, it is up to them whether to water it or not. If it is, be it hate or not, it bears fruit of entertainment. There's a value in the right amount of hate.

Thanks for the link, now I can see that it's actually shit instead of having this mysterious black box on my brain.

Tonight's strip: blowjobs.

dicks don't come out of the belly button, Willis
