Someone said Wes Anderson could this but I don't think he'd make the tone right
The actual title of this book is something like Vampires from Outer Space and no joke for a seven year old it is tense as fuck
Imagine if there was actually a good adaptation of this. It could litterally be 2049 tier kino if done right.
Would be awful, just like the book
THIS however would be fantastic.
It's pretty pessimistic and/or nihilistic if I remember right
An Epic of Gilgamesh adaptation would be kino as fuck
Meine leibe
I don't think anyone could do it justice
Coen Bros could do it
It would be nearly impossible to do, but I'd like to see someone try.
I could actually see this working with him.
You would never capture the nuance of the books.
God I wish we could still have these kind of covers for modern SFF. I work in a book retailer and the Sci-fi/Fantasy section is atrocious, every single cover is just photographed super-model in cosplay. I swear it's the reason why it sells the least in our shop.
>The novel has been adapted to film at least six times. The first version premiered in 1937, King Solomon's Mines, and was directed by Robert Stevenson. The best known version premiered in 1950, King Solomon's Mines, directed by Compton Bennett and Andrew Marton, which was followed by a sequel, Watusi (1959). In 1979 a low-budget version was directed by Alvin Rakoff, King Solomon's Treasure, combining both King Solomon's Mines as well as Allan Quatermain in one story. The 1985 film, King Solomon's Mines, was a more tongue-in-cheek parody of the story, followed by a sequel in the same vein: Allan Quatermain and the Lost City of Gold (1987). Around the same period an Australian animated TV film came out, King Solomon's Mines. In December 2006, the movie, “The Librarian: Return to King Solomon’s Mines” was released as the second in a trilogy that follows one man’s fantastical adventures. In 2008 a direct-to-video adaptation, Allan Quatermain and the Temple of Skulls was released by Mark Atkins, which bore more resemblance to Indiana Jones than the novel.
Christ I hated those illustrated classics even when I was a kid.
Nobody should get paid to rewrite a book in small words.
Wes would be better doing Deadeye Dick
>that censorship
On the note of Vonngeut I would love an adaption of pic related
I found myself relating the son of the famous physicist, the guy who invents ice-9. His son is like a 30 year old proto NEET who stays inside all day building model airplanes and jerking off
Do I have to read Tom Brown's School Days to really understand Flashman?
These books are responsible for how dumb America is now.
>for a seven year old is intense as fuck
I could pick up a classic CYOA book right now and probably get into a fucked situation and feel the suspense of it.
I remember one being a full blown political thriller where government hitmen wanted you fucking dead.
No you can thank Edward Bernays for that
Multi-part movie series or TV show?
Could be a comfy as fuck documentary series.
They did a show and tv movie of it already but fucked them up really badly, none of the books' charm. They should try another adaptation but this time, don't let Canadians make it.

storm would be kino as fuck, needs a big movie budget though
These days, not really.
Depending on the station, TV could pull it off.
