Rebecca Ferguson must have blew some important people. I remember her as a nobody on the X Factor like 10 years ago

I only just saw it around a month ago. Thought it was pretty boring for the most part

She's a bit "thicc" to be playing a romance lead isn't she? Shouldn't she be the funny best friend or the quirky secretary?

The only M Night movie (besides Avatar which doesn't really count in my mind) was the Village, but it's grown on me now

kino incoming

Going to be completely forgettable trash.

However, I can't really think of an actor better suited to play Steve Austin than Wahlberg. I'm sure there are better choices but none spring to mind. Who's another hollywood manly man that isn't a caricature joke?

I think it's dumb they chose to make Steve Austin a secret agent though.

Steve Austin was an astronaut. Because he was so technically minded already he made a good choice to become a bionic secret agent because he could out think his opponents, and his bionics could get him out of trouble.

On top of that Steve Austin never used a gun. Ever. He never killed anyone, at least not on purpose. The show makes a big point of saying that Steve will not carry a gun.

So how are they going to make a faithful adaptation of this?

They're not. The audience wants explosions, bullets flying, etc. Action action action.

Which is funny, because Steve Austin represents the sort of hero modern hollywood ostensibly wants. A hero that always resolves the situation without directly killing anyone. A hero that doesn't use guns.

I mean, that's what all these liberal hollywood types want right?

Well it was already done. And now they're going to change that into some dumb bullet hell action movie.

Apparently Charlie Kaufman is writing the screenplay for this, too.
