So, Julie or Sara?

Julie

Glorie was the best girl.

>chubby

>bad breath
>armpit stubble
>flabby stomach

there should be more "ugly" but still hot girls in comics and cartoons

perfect waifus get so fucking boring

She is by her own admittance pretty flabby around the midsection. I don't see anything wrong with that, in fact it can even be really cute. She has a whole conversion with Gone about it when he nabs her.

The only thing I question is the 'hooker-chic' outfits she likes to wear.

>chubby

She has a slight potbelly. That isn't chubby. She's got a wasp waist

people assume only men can have the "skinnyfat" body

Let me tell ya, it fucking sucks knowing that I couldn't start a chubby thread without being inundated with THICCfags and actual obese cows within like five posts.

Chubby is not fat. Get it through your THICC skulls.

So, chubby, not fat

If you're objectifying her after the first episode, you might as well stop. You're clearly not paying attention to the dialogue.

On episode 4. She's a cool Lass.

you'd have to be a 120 pound excuse of a "man" to find that even remotely chubby

Have you seen her belly, my dude

>You can't objectify a character sexually while still appreciating the character's motivations and dialogue
Who made that faggy rule?

Julie was the sole reason why I have a thing for slight tummy flab on girls. Wanna rub my face all over that.

OP said slightly chubby, as in just a bit flabby, which she is. No one is calling her obese. And it's something the character also says about herself, she has stomach flab, I don't see the point in splitting hairs over it.

I don't know where this ridiculous stigma against girls with some fat on them came from.
It used to be considered healthy and attractive.

Unlike guys, girl's bodies can look whatever, it's the face that really matters IMO

Just had to post the next page.

I sense some author venting here

>Slightly chubby
That's borderline normal.

Is the comic good, or are you only caring with your sick?

Well, he's not wrong.

capitalists realized that if you convince people that failing to be skinny is failing at life, you can then sell them pills and fad diets, whose failure to do anything will just make them desperate enough to try the even more expensive pills and fad diets, and then finally cave in and spend several grand on liposuction. at which point you can easily pressure them into spending a few more K on other cosmetic surgeries while they are at it

I liked it. Haven't actually read it in decades, though.

Maybe.

Maybe not. For all the good that does him in the next few pages.

I dunno, but they should be shot.

I'm perfectly capable of perving on a gal while still appreciating her intangible qualities.

She is thicc and I remember one ep were shes not happy with her weight. So it's safe to say that she is slightly chubby for a cartoon.

That guy took the red pill.

No, this was his take on what a serial rapist might think and say. He was positively chilled to the bone to find Incel Turbovirgins agreeing with it.

From what I recall, and this may be legit spoilers: Gone actually had the high ground here. He wasn't there to harm Julie, much less rape her, and he knew her way better than she gave him credit for. I don't remember what the ultimate point of it all was, but I do remember she's his niece and they used to get along. Not that Gone wasn't also twisted, he did rape a lot of women, but this one instance wasn't a pleasure call. Unless I'm remembering all of that wrong. It'd probably behoove me to read it again.

He just wanted to tell her about the Outback and the Maxx because he was tight with her dad and promised her mom that he'd help her out if she ever got similar supernatural visions. It's just that by that point he had become a serial rapist and murderer so he decided to have a little fun before getting down to the brass tacks.

So did he actually plan on fucking her, or am I right and he never had any intention of actually harming her. I figure he was just going to tie her up, frighten her and lecture her about her life choices before telling her about all the mystical astral plane shit.

>he never had any intention of actually harming her.

This, but he really kind of wanted to see her in a revealing outfit since his mom and first ex-wife really screwed him up when it came to women. He's perfectly fine with getting rid of the Maxx though. After all, Julie was when he saw her trying to hide Dave's body after running him over.

Does she ever come back?

Why is she talking to Sup Forums?

Depressingly, his statement is even more true now than when it was written.

I think Glorie is mentioned at some point by Sarah, and might even be one of her friends. I remember Glorie survived the attack but she was royally fucked up. Gone did a real number on her. I don't think she ever plays an important role, and may not appear again in the cartoon. Once again, memory is pretty fuzzy on that.

What happens in the next few pages?

He's a serial rapist whose only way to interact with the women of his family is to break into their houses and kidnap them, yes.

That's too bad. She was so pretty when she first showed up, so close to my teenage idea of what a perfect woman would look like, that when Gone got her I couldn't bear to keep reading.

>I sense some author venting here

Anything an author writes need not be his personal opinion or an expression of his inner thoughts.

Smart move.

men shouldn't have fat at all

I think she comes back at the end of the comic as a casino clerk

He'd be very upset by /r9k/ I imagine.

...

I'm still hearing his voice.

RIP you bastard.

Fun Fact. Julie's statement "You've got a problem with women!" is probably the most self-aware thing Sam Kieth ever wrote. He's got a lot of problems, which got compounded when he was 15 and met his 35 year old wife. Read some of his other works to see just how broken he is.

She indeed appears again in the comic.

Pacing on that bit was better in the cartoon.

I agree. Really wish they had done the entire series and not just the first 12-13 issues.

Thicc

He was into cougars?

If I want to get into the comics after watching the cartoon where do I start?

ooh i remember my weewee getting hard by watching this ad at locomotion. never watched the show though, is it good?

I found it entertaining. The story is interesting and the Isz are cute.

Just think this used to be considered fat
now you have to be morbidly obese to even be called chubby or curvy

The beginning?

Go back to your shitty show and stay there Adam.

I miss the 90s dude

Julie is the toppest of tier waifu

>locomotion
Argie chabón?

The voice work is good. Maxx's speech to the neighborhood kids in the 3rd person is one of my favorite parts. It is part of that whole 80s/90s superheroes would be pyschos thing.

This interests me. Show me more.

Colombia

> part of that whole 80s/90s superheroes would be pyschos thing.

got me there, gon give it a chance, thanks.

Someone should storytime The Maxx at some point. Here's where I was getting those pages: readcomiconline.to/Comic/The-Maxx-1993

Not sure if it's an extra in the animation or it was in the comic too but I'm pretty sure she's the girl that warns the boys who found a dead Itt in the alley and then one of them puts his hand through the Outback rift and gets caught in it. Unless Sam Keith just wrote random girls and boys not expecting them to be continual characters? But I'm pretty sure Glorie warns those two boys who hang around Julie's street. And Sarah is friends with her boyfriend too which she discusses the rape. I think Sara fucks her bf later in the story too I think? Does Sarah ever find out that Gone is a serial rapist and her dad?

If people generally consider the best of early Image to be Spawn, Savage Dragon and Wild CATS then The Maxx should definitely be beside them. I think it sucks Maxx languishes in obscurity when it's arguably always been the better fantasy gritty 90's antihero Image comic better than Spawn.

The only ones I remember actually reading in the 90s were The Maxx and Pitt. I heard about Spawn but I never got into it.

>Maxx should definitely be beside them
No, The Maxx is leagues above.

>Pitt
How was that one?

The Maxx was great.

It was basically a TV Anime with how close they mimicked the comic through animation.

And it was also the first cartoon with CG elements. (I think.)

The Maxx was ahead of its time and deserves a better legacy than only being available through Amazon on DVDRs.

I do not remember it very well. I think I only browsed a few issues occasionally at a shop I used to visit as a kid. The reason I remember the Maxx better is because I also remember the cartoon, so it left more of an impression.

It was a head of its time sure, but what do you means about 'basically a TV anime'? are you assuming anime is generally more faithful to manga than cartoons are to comics?

If so, that's a pretty flawed statement. Most manga or light novel to anime adaptations aren't 100% faithful. Arcs, characters, and plots get switched around or dropped all the time. Especially if the anime and manga started around the same time. That's why a lot of long-running manga-based anime end up veering way off course from the source material. It outruns it so the writers have to lie down new tracks to keep the train moving.

The comic industry works way differently than the manga industry. It's a collaborative effort rather than one person and a team of assistants sweatshopping it. Cartoon adaptations end up not as close to the 'source' because they end up pulling from multiple sources (like capeshit) or just using an established character with an original plot.

As for why The Maxx is so close to the comic, I think that's because some of the scenes are pretty many scans of individual panels.

The show has very limited animation yet always manages to be interesting to look at.

This is actually a feminist comic...like an actual feminist comic, not the authoritarian puritan socialist feminism that plagues us now.

You took that way too literally.

I like how they totally gloss over the fact that Mr Gone had to obviously strip her naked to put her in that outfit

Well Gone was a rapist, so I'm pretty stripping women naked wasn't anything new to him or something we should have deemed out of character for him.

Then again, that was like his good friend's daughter who was sort of like a niece to him...

I loved Mr. Gone as a character. Definitely my favorite. It a land full of insane people, he was actually woke as fuck. That being said, everything he did was because he was emotionally damaged. See every character had some what of a tragic backstory that makes them who they are, only to find out that the series main antagonist actually had the most tragic and fucked up backstory, even Julie being raped is fucking tame compared to the shit Gone had to endure. You feel bad for him by the end of his "origin" story, and learn that he's the deepest and most complex character, but yet he's also very relatable in some of the crap he's had to put up with.

It's probably not the first time Uncle Artie had to change Julie, but this time was a lot more hot and a bit more heavy (she's a full figured kid). Still, nothing for him to lose his head over.

Then he's retarded since /r9k/ doesn't give a fuck about women, they just hate them without wanting anything to do with them for the most part.

>his head looks like a penis

I just got that.

Then you're retarded. Socially it is men who can "look whatever". And it is worse for a woman to put on weight because it is harder for women to lose weight, hence why there are always more obese women in a given society than obese men.

Story time when?

I can agree with the first part.
>And it is worse for a woman to put on weight because it is harder for women to lose weight, hence why there are always more obese women in a given society than obese men.
This is bs. Men don't lose easier fat and the average man is fatter(worse bmi) .I don't know where you get your ideas.

Yeah, Gone is a total dickhead

Why would we? It gets really dumb after the time skip.

>letting a 15 year old marry someone in their mid 30's
He must of had shitty parents.

>Still, nothing for him to lose his head over.

kek
