His reasoning for fighting Rocky was thoroughly explained though. First time seeing the movie? Enjoy the ride that is the rest of the series.

My favourite small scene is when Rocky is relaxing with Adrienne and she's finally opened up, so she's sitting with him comfortably, rubbing his back. Then Paulie breaks the scene up by being jealous. There was always something beautiful about their relationship. But to have Paulie break it up then have his sister stand up for herself, it's quite something.

Also I adore the opening of Rocky 6. Breaks my heart with Rocky at the graveyard, reading the paper with Adrienne.

Yes. And I was honestly surprised by the ending. I thought it would be like Karate Kid.

After watching every Rocky movie last week my only major question is: why does Rocky keep Paulie around? He is a complete piece of shit in every movie. He treats Adrian like garbage and even tells Rocky to hit her if she gets out of line. He doesn't help Rocky's training. He tries to guilt Rocky for being successful. Also, he probably fucked the robot that Rocky bought him.

Because Paulie is his long time friend who set him up with the love of his life, thus becoming his brother-in-law. not that hard to parse.

Rocky was pure kino. Rocky 5 was embarrassing.

I loved the movie but personally I think the love scene between Rocky and Adrian was a little too drawn out, and the final fight could have been a bit longer. I preferred Rocky 2. For me: Rocky 9.5/10 and Rocky 2 10/10.

The biggest flaw is the actually boxing in it. No boxing Match ever has ever fought that way. I know Creed and rocky both wanted to knock each other out but goddanm. It was made worst by the fact all the sequels are the same.

Was it Rocky III where the movie starts with Paulie being incredibly jealous of Rocky's success and breaking shit, then that subplot gets resolved in the next scene and never comes up again?

II, III and Creed are decent on their own, but I really hate V. The only good thing about IV is the soundtrack and Balboa is completely illogical.

Recently i had a marathon of Rocky Balboa and Creed, two movies that surprised me by being awesome when nobody expected it.
It left me thinking about how Rocky has one of the most consistent character development in cinema history, all the Rocky saga could me resumed to the story of man fighting against life and becoming wise in the end.
