Best of the series.
Yeah, I said it. Evil Dead II is just not as good as people claim.
Shit taste. Evil Dead II did everything better.
I agree, always preferred Evil Dead 1.
Evil Dead 2 gets boring once the other people arrive at the cabin. But the sequence just before with Ash smashing plates on his head and laughing with the deer is incredible.
Army of Darkness masterrace.
I enjoy it a lot, but ED2 will always be my favourite.
Yep. First one is better.
Liked 2 more when I was a kid. But on the rewatch recently I realized the first is better.
The beginning is OK, I'll agree. But, once it becomes an ED remake, I'm out.
I dunno.
I prefer 2 because I grew up with that one as my staple horror film.
>Raimi dodged criticisms that the "Evil Dead" referred to the jewish people killed during the holocaust by saying "Don't be ridiculous, there was no holocaust".
Ash vs Evil Dead is so terrible goddamn.
I wish they went with the original name for army of darkness (Medieval Dead)
AOD
ED2
ED

masterpiece. and yeah ED2 is great but ED1 is best
I always preferred Evil Dead I, but they both have their merits.
Evil Dead I is the better late night horror movie and has the better gritty grindhouse feel (even if it isn't a grindhouse flick, I don't know what the better word for that is)
Evil Dead II is a better story and funny as hell. It's also got some better pacing and action.
I would argue that Evil Dead I is setup like Night of the Living Dead while Evil Dead II is setup like Nightmare on Elm Street. Both classics, but for totally different reasons.
Does that make sense?
I remember watching the premiere with friends and we loved it so much we watched it a couple times.
Then we caught up on all the episodes we missed to watch the S1 finale and loved it up until the weird "Ash decides to fuck over humanity" ending.
And then none of us really stuck around for S2 except the most hardcore. I loved Shiela coming back, but the rest of S2 felt really forced.
Kelly is a god awful character and the writers really have no idea what to do with her, do they?
And Ash is such a fucking moron. I don't mind it, but sometimes it just gets on your nerves because he had a little more wits about him in the movies. He definitely was Flanderized as the show went on.
not a very good movie but impressive considering the budget, constraints and youth/inexperience of the cast and crew
>I loved Shiela coming back
You mean Cheryl, Ash's sister. Sheila was the medieval woman Ash fell in love with in Army of Darkness.
Good catch
"no"
Ash has always been a moron. Army of Darkness showcases his idiocy. Raimi and Campbell have always referred to Ash as an idiot for the last few decades even before the existence of the television series.
>And Ash is such a fucking moron. I don't mind it, but sometimes it just gets on your nerves because he had a little more wits about him in the movies.
This. The movies led us to believe that he was pretty smart guy. He built a fully functional mechanical hand, a steam engine, and created his own version of gunpowder in medieval times (though he did have some books that may have helped him), and he knows how to play "classical" music on a piano. Then the TV show comes along and says "Nuh-uh, he's always been a LOL dumb stoner".
A certified classic
>Kelly is a god awful character and the writers really have no idea what to do with her, do they?
Ash was going to fuck Kelly's mom and Kelly was going to be his daughter.

The most ferociously original horror film of the year.
He’s an idiot savant in the films. But he’s always been a somewhat likable retard in the movies. You only get stupider as you get older.
the ultimate experience in gruelling terror
>Best of the series.

Only part that is better than 2 is the tree-rape scene.
