How is Isaac too dumb to realize that it's not him everyone doesn't trust, but Storm God? I mean don't get me wrong, they might not like him because he kind of sucks, but does he not get that he's the only Medium (well, Spender is one too, but I don't think he knows that)

Refer to . Even if it is to imply whatever that menacing was menacing 13 years ago ≈ Isaac's birth, the execution pulled is cheap and out of nowhere (i.e no subtle hint by dialogue or visuals). Change the numbers and it won't make any difference. But that is not the only shitty development Zack has pulled off this comic...

Man I love Lucifer, the best spirit so far (even though 8fold has my heart still). His design is great and without spirits idk that I'd care for paranatural.

This is a good example of how to inject humor into a serious chapter correctly, make it a small thing, don't turn it into the fucking focus. Zack has been doing his best to draw attention to how zani he can be by going over the top with his faces.

If it takes you over 150 pages to resolve basic character conflicts, maybe your pacing is shit.

I think that might be it.

About 100 million subplots that Zack began, defying the pacing.
He has zero idea how to do this kind of plot, apparently.

This is a classic ticking clock plot, but he keeps cutting away to some stupid sideplot every three strips, killing all tension.

Paranatural used to be one of my biggest inspirations, but now it's "just another webcomic". Seeing older, infinitely better pages posted here makes it even worse. How did Zack's art, pacing & writing go to shit simultaneously out of nowhere?

How do people get this far not realizing that its not the best idea to jump back and forth from 3+ simultaneous subplots in a story.

I really don't mind Zack doing some age diversity on the middle schoolers, but why have just Isaac being the only 8th grader around? He doesn't even say anything that would imply his age even through all his dialogue (things like "can't believe I'm stuck with these babies" sorta thing), and the school setting always focuses on whatever class Max's schedule is in and not anywhere else. Utter bullshit, I say.

The page that "twist" was in would've not have been there and it would not make any difference...Zack's execution is neither here nor there.

Yeah, I'd imagine Zack would have to rush plot points just so everything would conclude when Isaac goes to high school...as if this chapter wasn't so rushed in the character development part enough (see whatever happened to Johnny, Dr Muslim etc).
