It was surprisingly not terrible. Generic maybe in a lot of areas, but not outright irritating.

I was amazed each character had an arc, it wasn't amazing or surprising, but it was an arc. And they didn't just grave rob the old jumanji for all of its imagery. They only nod at the old movie with the old board game turning into the video game, and the music being the same at some parts.

black panther can complete, but it has to make another 30 million, in which time jumanji might make another 5. so by the time they both get the $935million point then black panther wil overtake it and continue to overtake it as it gets released in china, but then in april, jumanji will get another $75-100 million to bring it up to around the same as black panther.

It was solid. It was generic and characters were not exactly multidimensional but every character had (predictable) but cleverly written arcs that hit every beat just right.

It's way funnier than the trailer, because the humor comes from about four or five angles at the same time:
1) They're fish outta water because of the game
2) They're fish outta water because of their avatar's specific appearances and strengths
3) They have multiple lives so death itself can be funny
4) Part of the humor is the mix of personalities
5) Even the actionscenes are organically funny half the time
For what it is, the script is surprisingly smart, and the characters believable. This was one of my most enjoyable theater experiences of the whole year, andI watch a lot of movies.
