DEATH WISH 2018

Went in expecting an ok movie. Eli Roth, remake, "alt-right's movie" controversy.

It was incredible. A lot of fun. In the spirit of a 70s grindhouse film. Horrific (but just) violence but simultaneously refreshingly wholesome. It isn't heavy handed. There isn't a dull moment. A fun ride from beginning to end. Bruce Willis did a great job. I was worried he'd be phoning this one in, but it really didn't disappoint.

Anti-gun shlomosexuals on rotton tomatoes too embarassed to attack it from their platform of virtue, so they try to knock it down for reasons that would lead one to believe they weren't even watching the same film.

Higher audience score than Black panther lmao Trump wins again

"You the ice cream man?"

audience score matters, critic score is just hollywood embarrassing itself.

I teared up, stomped in anger, cheered, laughed. Nothing like a brutal revenge flick, but this was justice on film.

It also followed logically from scene to scene. Once coincidence to push the story forward that I thought was a little bit off, but it really worked in all other aspects.

just came back from watching it with my mom, we both liked it, entertaining, violence wasn't dragged/painted across the screen, just the right amount. Ending felt satisfying.
haven't been to theatres in ages, I'm glad I came out for this one.

Who gives a shit if it has a higher audience score, which movie is making more money?

Also, what the fuck does Trump have to do with this movie?

Roth is a liberal, this film went over the heads of the critics and Sup Forums apparently.

Second best Death Wish movie ever made.

He accidentally made one of the most pro gun movies I've ever seen then.

i didnt say anything about trump but the movie seems to have right wing values and that would be why the critics marked it down.

i also didn't compare it black panther but the critic scores on black panther were similarly jacked by politics.

audience score is how good a movie is. transformers makes shitloads of money but the films arent great.

I loved this movie. Had an actually important message, unlike Black Panther

Once again a tripfag nobody contributes nothing but discord

>their firepower [is] dwindling
What did he mean by this?

A lot of revenge films don't feel balanced in the doling out of punishment, but this was just brilliantly done.

This movie IS NOT torture porn by any stretch. Eli Roth has matured and I think the other people involved in the making of this film kept him in check.

Some really brutal deaths though. I've never seen such gore in such a tastefully done movie. It almost didn't make any sense. But then again, the antagonist isn't some heavy handed critique of fascism. They are scum gang bangers and criminals. It played up how shallow and sex crazed these animals are.

>audience score is how good a movie is.
Only if you're a knuckledragging retard.

Honestly looks mediocre, but the negative reviews from critics are hilarious
"This movie has the wrong politics for today"
"The message is worrisome"
"Think of the children!"

>They are scum gang bangers and criminals. It played up how shallow and sex crazed these animals are.
Yeah, I think I'll take someone else's opinion on whether or not it's torture porn or "balanced" then.

Goddamn that's depressing. Death Wish is great though. I think in 2018 audience score is the real number though.

goo fa u

The audience score and the critic score are both entirely unreliable.

why dident he just make another hostel!

where u live at nigga? come round NY

do you really trust film critics more than the audience when picking a film to see? lol.

man you should try becoming a film critic. you might lose respect for them. theyre not "experts" just university grads (in some cases) and blowjob majors

Somewhere people don't get excited and happy at the prospect of other people being hurt.

He's unironically a Milo fanboy

You sound edgy as fuck bro.

It's clearly Trumpist.

This post was either made by a piece of shit drug dealer, a soyboy, or a person who happened to not understand Master and Commander.

That makes the movie bad? Or is it just bad NOW, and in X years when Trump isn't president then it will be the "right time"?

I don't care if this movie is right or left

I'm sick of these fucking "Quip action movies"

Where's the gritty shit now?

I don't blanket trust critics (especially when any dipshit with a blog can get on RT) just like I don't blanket trust audiences. If you genuinely believe the audience score on RT is any more accurate than the critic score, I feel sorry for you.

I liek to make film bout da fascism. They don't allow love of childr-- fish creatura. Muy terrible

>Boondock Saints
>bad
>Killing Them Softly
>good

k that gave me a sensible chuckle

Not totally true. Audience score has become more accurate lately, especially for “political” films. BP at 79% was about right for example.

>do critic for life/work
WOW THEY DON'T NO NUTHONG!
>random internet crybabies
AH FINALLY THE KNOWLEDGEABLE ONES

I'm seeing it because it was written by Joe Carnahan, and also because of HIGH IMPACT VIOLENCE.

If you think Boondock Saints is a good movie you should probably shuffle on off to bed, because you have to go to your middle school tomorrow.

...

Why are you posting the director who just won an award for a decent movie in response to me?

something something me teacher you kid

The only quips are in the trailer. The one quip that isn't involves Dean Norris at the end, and it's hilariously dry. It's actually a painful watch in the beginning and pretty joyless. A stomp your feet and swear kind of painful.

>Boondock Saints is good
The absolute state of Sup Forums

Cause I knew that was your kind of movie.

>Boondock Saints is good
Wow. I'm the most accepting and open-minded faggot on Sup Forums and you are fucking wrong. That's possibly the worst opinion I've ever heard. Jesus.

Fucking fish creatures has been in fashion since The Little Mermaid. Whats your point?

It isn't though, it was visually very well done but there was too much stuff like everyone being super okay with a woman fucking a fish, it really strained credulity. Why does the fact that I live with people that take Christian values seriously make you think that would be my kind of movie?

Unironically this

>vigilante dad rock
>top critic
RT criticism is a joke

My Jesus unsheathed his sword. Your Jesus is a facade for luciferian fag pedos

The documentary Overnight (2003) about Boondock and it's director Troy Duffy is fucking magical, much better than the actual movie and shit sequel. Some must watch shit.

lemme take you to an underground society.. where you'll be treated like a princess

this movie was even shittier than death wish 4

the sow butthurt does seem out of proportion,
why didn't anyone care about the girlfriend in hellboy

And I'm sure your Jesus laughed in joy the whole time am I right? Played with the entrails too probably, good Christian fun to rejoice in the suffering of others by your beliefs is it?

is it really good old ultraviolence?

the trailer made it look like straight up dogshit. ooh, i'm crushing a dude under a car, in a flat wide shot. what bloodlust

The entrails of evil are unwound by hands that remain clean

You see his brain come out. That scene was some hostel shit

guess i'll be watching it

on solarmovie

I heard my boy Mike Epps is in it. What does he do?

That was awesome

>change site after 19 years
>looks significantly worse

Okay RT.

My only complaint is the film didn't go far enough could have been more violent

It was different times

OP here

If William Shatner happens to be reading this, I'd like to apologize for the schlomo comment. You're the man.

>no Chicken Run 2

I saw that last quip coming and all I thought was "don't fucking say do it" but I couldn't help but smile at how cheesy it was.

My mother actually loves Master and Commander.

>movie wasn't even much about gun control but rather focuses on vigilantism
Are critics even watching these movies?

if that review was positive instead of negative it would actually be a pretty based review

>13%
Sup Forumstards BTFO as always

>thinking any critic thinks the movie is literally about a man who is a political activist for gun rights

Dad rock can be taken as a positive or a negative
t.dadrock fan

>Eli Roth made a competent movie in 2018
Doubtful
>Sup Forums shoving their politics into a trash movie and claiming said movie is great
Pretty much certain

I'm a big fan of the original movies, and just revenge in general but I have a hard time imagining Eli doing anything justice. Especially after his failure in making an Italian cannibal movie, a genre he dickrides harder than I do.

I feel like KTS was Brads last decent performance.

First Eli Roth is a horrible filmmaker
Second, while critics should not be reviewing a movie based on recent events and current 'political climate' that had nothing to do with the film itself, it still is a horrible, soulless Hollywood shitfest cashgrab remake that deserves bad scores and harsh criticism

Being a conservative is what's popular now, he knows what's he's doing.

>Sup Forums shoving their politics into a trash movie and claiming said movie is great
>Pretty much certain

This is exactly what is happening and there is absolutely no way around it. This site is sad sometimes, and transparent as fuck

Nigget

MOMMY I WANT SOY

Go to bed, Eli
