Which one of you recommended this turd?

the only people who like it are /tg/ spergs who play that silly board game

>being this much of a pleb
Back to plebbit with you

maybe think of it as another dimension instead? not actual factual hell

I watched this when i was like 9 and it was the scariest fucking thing i had seen in my entire life.

>returns from a universe where Black Panther never existed

It's a very entertaining space horror film, you tasteless piece of shit

aaaAAAAAAAAAaaaAAAAAAAAaaaaaaa

I dont care, it's still a shit movie. The black guy in space blasting his air tanks to get back PLEASE. The fact theres no clear explanation for why everyone goes insane still doesnt make sense. And Sam Neil started going insane before he even got to the Event Horizon.

And that's the reason why we cannot have a proper Wh4k movie, even if the sjw would allow it.

>He didn't think event horizon was kino

>The black guy in space blasting his air tanks to get back PLEASE

*ding*
xD

>((hell))
>not chaos

movie was cool. extra cool if you know about Warhammer 40k.

When this came out it was the funky shit

...

They never implied that it was literal hell you retarded faggot.
It was a twisted and fucked up dimension, the closest place we as humans know to that is hell.
Also this was some lovecraftian kino desu, they actually use his 'not meant to be seen through human eyes' really well.

Shitposting aside, the movie holds up fairly well for a 90s sci-fi horror. At its core it does the "cabin in the woods" isolated trope in space. Much like the first Alien movie, by establishing that stasis pods are required to make the journey, we know the crew are all alone etc

But much like any horror, it only works if you let it. The reveal that the extra-dimensions is basically hell only works if you go "yeah sure hell exists, now I'm scared". If you laugh off the core premise, you can't enjoy it.

My big criticism of it is the forced comic relief with the engineer flying around outside. Also watching it as an adult, I genuinely don't know why I was so scared of it as a teenager.

I think it may only be scary to the types of folk who are currently debating atheism with themselves, its almost "yeah but what if you're wrong" projected onto a medium where you're not expecting it

Movie was really good.
Incredibly fucking good if you know the writers are Warhammer 40k fans, and this is basically a prequel.

>4 minutes of cut footage from the Warp, made test audiences vomit
>several scenes with Chaos symbols all over

youtube.com/watch?v=4sFd8aWT7Io

Most sensible sentence in a horror movie, ever.

Trips.
This movie was kino. I agree, the negro comic relief was stupid, and I wish they removed it. I love this movie, and while it's dumb at parts (like the core with all the menacing spikes and the occasionally jump-scares), it's pretty damn original. I'm a sucker for Sci-Fi + Demons/Hell. That shit's badass

...

Didn't the black guy get the cute white girl at the end? No wonder Sup Forums hates this movie.

>Space ship returns from candy land
>everyone gets free candy

They were just following the WH40k canon, sir.

It didn’t come from actual hell you fucking retard it came from some
Place outside of time and space that they called “he’ll” for all intents and purposes it was

How dense can you be

...

>for all intents and purposes it was

so it came from hell is a fair statement. Using more words than yoiu need to doenst make you sound smarter, Usually the opposite is true

Just not our biblical Hell

didnt the black guy get killed at the end, sucked into the Warp along with the ship?

your soy milk is getting warm, kiddo.

calling it "hell" is a stretch, its not in the biblical sense, with satan poking you with a pitchfork and stuff.

depends on the person

I FEEL THE WARP OVERTAKING ME IT IS A GOOD PAIN

when I watched that scene from Justice League where they resurrect superman in the ship I immediately thought of Event Horizon and imagined an alternate timeline where the warp opened up and infected all of them because they participated in a ressurection ritual

...

ya well, thats a very narrow minded view of Hell. It never actually shows where the ship went, but the characters turn evil, and look like they partake in weird sex rituals, so its basically some form of hell. Its even described as evil in one point.

Stop watching cinemasins your turboplebeian.
It's a good movie, you literally have to be a severely demented soyboy in order to not like it.

lol yeah, i read way too much into WH recently and expected daemons to push through, rape everybody, papercut to death and pour lemon juice on it.

Which.... would probably make the movie a whole lot better, when i think of it.

>The fact theres no clear explanation for why everyone goes insane still doesnt make sense.

This mentality gave us the jumpscare shitfests today.

>The fact theres no clear explanation for why everyone goes insane still doesnt make sense.

are you so dumb you cant figure it out, really?
were you born yesterday or something?

>this would be CGI if done today

Weeeee

nah it would have forced romance bullshit in it because we need to get women watch this movie.

visually, its a great looking movie.

personally I thought strange appenages bursting out of their bodies, through their mouths, etc. would have been the right level of body horror and comedy

>personally I thought strange appenages bursting out of their bodies, through their mouths, etc.

sounds.... fantastic.
i definately need to rewatch this movie again, its been years since the last time i saw it.

damn that female demon in the lower part of the image looks stacked.

And it would also be done with CGI, the two aren't mutually exclusive

I used to love this movie as a kid but I rewatched it recently and it didn't hold up well.

>IG vs Greater Spawn of Nurgle

RIP

Shit, i hear it

well... we dont know whats behind the IG lines....

too much to ask for a movie or show about the adeptus arbites investigating heresy on a hiveworld?

>implying a Horus Heresy movie series wouldnt be the best kino ever made

Holywood is scared shitless when they think about filming PG-18 material.
It took years and millions of signed petitions to make Deadpool, which in comparison to the rape-fest of Warhammer seems like a childs story.

>extended hell footage is lost forever

imagine how awesome it was, if it made the entire test audience vomit their guts out.

>horus heresy movie
>all white male super humans
>only salamanders are black
>one important female character

yea, I'm just thinking a cop show formula has a bit more chance of seeing the light of day. Or an Eisenhorn show whatever.

>in the biblical sense, with satan poking you with a pitchfork and stuff.

There's no "Satan poking you with a pitchfork" in the Bible.

I always loved the line
>I came from the dark behind the stars
or something like that. Always made me think

well damn, forgot about the modern cancer of political correctness.
The new witcher series are getting the "woman treatment", too. The woman screenwriter already said theres "nothing wrong is showing more diversity in the Witcher".
Women shouldnt be allowed to do anything besides dinner.

mmmmm, an Eisenhorn movie would rock my world.....
I can imagine Mark Strong already drooling at the prospect of playing the main character.
Mark Strong, man, what a blessing this dude is.

Damn they even have the chaos stars.

>>space ship returns from hell

That´s the joke OP.

the creators of the movie openly said they're huge WH40k fans.
We can only imagine the levels of warp fuckery they showed in the cut 4 minutes of Chaos footage.
What a legendary movie it would be, if it the scenes were still there.....

>do you see?

Friendly reminder that they hired porn actors and amputees to portray the fucked-up hell torture orgy.

Pretty sure that's not from Event Horizon. I don't remember that at all.

well god damn, didnt know that.

Hell/The Other Dimension wasn't that scary desu.

I have been tortured before and physical pain is not that bad and it fades away after a bit. Psychological/Emotional pain is a far worse fate in my opinion and if Hell exists, I believe it would be primarily that instead of physical torture.

>I have been tortured before

isis?

lmao, dont cut yourself on that edge.

>Slaanesh torture chambers are childs play, i've been through worse.

his mom bought him an iphone 4 instead of an iphone 5.

that's child abuse

>This mentality gave us the jumpscare shitfests today.

Absofuckinglutley. Fucking normie dumb shits have pretty much shit all over the genre. Netflix is the only thing putting our horrorkino at this point. The rest is Exorcism Jumpfest 10: BBC edition.

The real torture is the one there's no coming back, the one they destroy you alive and do a tremendous job keeping you conscious and in pain until the foregone conclusion. i.e. cartel/yakuza shit.
Since you're alive and well, posting on an online anonymous flower bouquet wrapping store, yours was kinky foreplay in comparison.

>turd

Don’t worry, infinity war is out next month capemong

t. slaanesh

It has some cool gory stuff and I like the space ship interior design

aaaAAAAAAAAAaaaAAAAAAAAaaaaaaalan

>returns from hell

they were in hell all along!

His wife was on the event horizon the link is what makes him start losing it before they get to the ship

i wonder if that dude saw the recent mexican cartel torture, where they skinned a young kid alive, cut his still beating heart out in front of his eyes and stabbed it.
that would make a slaanesh cultist proud.

A friend of mine saw this when we were in middle school. His descriptions gave me nightmares.

>I have been tortured before
what happened? your mom take your switch or something?

>watching it as an adult, I genuinely don't know why I was so scared of it as a teenager.

>His wife was on the event horizon
wrong
His wife killed herself because he was never there for her, spending all his time with his real love, the Event Horizon, and that is the link, just like Betruger in Doom 3

Yes?
No?

I hate those cartel videos

My friend briefly got into wh40k in the 90's. I don't want to play, but I'm digging the lore. Any novels or comics or anything you'd suggest?

>isis

No, but I've been through a few programs that aim to desensitize us to torture and resist the techniques. Think S.E.R.E. school x10. (I'm a NavyFag). Without giving too much away, a few of the things we had done to us were hanging upside down while being choked, beaten repeatedly, sleep deprivation, etc etc.

Also had fingernails torn out and ribs fractured during that training.

My point is that the physical pain goes away fairly quickly. It's the emotional/psychological effects that make most people break. That's what Event Horizon should have been IMO.

as long as we allow niggers and jews around humanity won't have a future

Horus Hesery the first 3 books. The question is what do you like about the lore.

to be honest, i recommend absolutely everything Warhammer related.
It's biggest lore i ever had contact with, and its amazing.
for the last 2 years i've been reading nothing else than Warhammer novels, i got 2 entire wall-sized shelves filled only with Warhammer books.
Its just great, i recommend it highly.

Horus Heresy!!!
The first 5 books will turn your brain inside out, great reading.

thats not torture.
kids do that to each other in kindergarden.

want torture? go watch some cartel clips and then tell me that "physical pain goes away".

Different user but what would you guys recommend for someone who especially digs rogue traders, Adeptus Mechanicus, Arbites & Assassinorum?

>for the last 2 years i've been reading nothing else than Warhammer novels, i got 2 entire wall-sized shelves filled only with Warhammer books.
literally me pic related finished yesterday.

Mate there is fucking stacks of books though. Off the top of my head, early Horus Heresy like 1-5 It hink are the best, though there are good ones throughout, there are just so many. Eisenhorn is pure detective kino, as is Ravenor. The Gaunts Ghosts books are also great, they show things from the perspective of an IG light infantry regiment (traitor general is one of my faves but its been years). I'd also give the first Ultramarines omnibus a go, Dead Sky Black Sun was a very good one, but I'm not up to date on the recent stories.

hahaha you beat me too it
