Well, no. It's hard to remember hundreds if not thousands of stuff you've watched and read in several years. Or a decade.

I never remember what issue/episode I'm up to what watching/reading something. It's like a bookmark for digital shit.

anime series get pumped out 4 times a year in seasons. Things start to get a little hectic after a year or two of consistent anime.

I use it for the recommendation lists in order to find stuff similar to what I watched in the past.

I wish there would be a site for all animation, regardless of country of origin. Just add some powerful filters if you want nothing but Japanese cartoons, and but allow everything if you want to. It discourages me from watching western when I can't add it to my MAL.
And MAL sucks for allowing Chinese and Korean cartoons. They don't belong on an anime site.
