E;R made some good points but I wouldn't really count him as a credible source considering he had so much difficulty attempting to disprove gender that he had to resort to a very poorly presented fallacy.
Imo it's gone absolutely nowhere. There are no risks because everyone will always be magically saved by deus ex machina. We will always be stuck in the main hub world and the very real danger of being miles or even light years away from home with no magical way back will never be touched upon with any real meaning. There is no sense of defeat looming because everything always turns out peachy or it eventually will. They could never do this of course, but I think, as an example, it'd be cool for Steven to wrestle with being in an inescapable setting with a human character, and the only known way to solve the issue would be to kill and revive that person. How would he deal with morality of that situation? Do the ends justify the means? They'll both die if he doesn't do anything, but does that make it ok? What if the person has to deal with the side effects for the rest of their lives? What if there's an alternative they haven't even thought of and they need to think of it in time or else suffer worse consequences than following the original plan? How would he even do it to minimize the agony? Just my neckbeard thoughts, and of course, the team doesn't cater to us or myself individually so I can't expect anything, but hopefully you can understand what I'm saying.
Also crying being the only form of negative expression should be reduced tremendously. I love this show but it's really hard to watch sometimes.

I liked it at first, thought it was cute. All my friends liked it back in high school and they were all cute. It was a cute show.
Then I got a taste of the fanbase, which drove me away pretty fast, but again, I still thought it was a cute show and that fanbases don't always represent their product.
Then I slowly began to hate the show once I learned it was more and more politically charged than I originally thought. I wasent just a cute innocent show, but a cutesy show with an agenda.
I tried talking to people about it but that got be assblasted by the fans, which made my hate for it worse.
Then I watched E;Rs rant and I pretty much just made fun of the show after that. I like the songs and cute atheistic of the show, but I hate everything it's about.
Then I watched robbobuddies SU Rant, which comes from the perspective of someone who likes the show. And I found someone new who I like to watch because of it.
At the end of the day, I don't like it because it has a Fuckton of flaws and the fans refuse to acknowledge any of them, because they are all trash.

You missunderstood the latter part.
Bismuth caste are the buiders, i.e. architects. That one CG Bismuth decided to make weapons after she decided to rebel.
Other than that, I think they actually fleshed out the concept. Every gem potentially has the ability to summon a weapon but that ability has to be honed in order to accomplish it. What Bismuth was doing was basically giving the gems training wheels.

look the breaking point and the pink sword are Bismuth weapons they don't require a gem sustaining them.
Also Bismuth weapons are far more powerful then summon weapons.

I get annoyed whenever a character starts gushing over humans, because with few exceptions, this show doesn't have any humans in it. It has some docile offshoot with important human traits like curiosity stripped out because the writers don't want to take 30 seconds out of a townie episode to answer any of the basic questions the show's premise raises. This problem extends to the setting. They've created an alt-history where aliens invaded earth and left behind tons of things, but they never do anything with it. Humanity isn't allowed to even acknowledge it unless a gem is present. The show tells you to care about its humans, while making most of them dumb shallow gags and showing the gems to be vastly superior as characters and as a species.
Also, the few things gem influence did change (no WW2, no religions, Russia destroyed) serve no purpose in the story. Like the creators were just scrubbing out parts of the world they disliked, which is petty and a bit creepy.
