by the time republicans come back into power, the economy is already turning sour, thanks to the previous 4 or 8 years under a democrat. so republicans have to work to get the economy back up, and have to deal with the fallout of a tanking economy under a previous administration. by the time the republican leaves office, the economy is starting to up swing, which the democrat president will get credit for.

first, they increase taxes which means businesses start massive layoffs. Then when these bums get another job (almost always a lower wage job) the Democrats claim they "created jobs".
