The Catholic Church's ban on female priests will stand forever, Pope Francis said today.

It's not a 'ban', women were never allowed to be priests in the first place. This shitty article is making 'news' of a proclamation that has existed for centuries. Nothing to see here.

I really wish I could see Phyllis Zagano's face right about now. Sorry Phyllis, time to become a Lutheran I guess.

Literally the only right thing he has done.

If the Catholic Church ever ordained women priests, it would be a guaranteed Great Schism 2.0. Even in the current year.

Wtf I hate Pope Francis now

Why cant women be priests?

He also came out against the 50 genders crap

Because the church said so.

That's literally it.

They have vaginas

finally a reason for the left to stop sucking his dick

Fucking based, cunts out of priesthood is a no brainer though, because of this he won't be compensating for his previous statements against WHITE WESTURN CIVILIZASHUN at all

Beacause all Jesus's decouples were men.

LOL

Some bullshit about all women being innately sinful because eve ate the apple and tempted Adam, therefore, they are unfit to be shepherds of the flock

Okay, two things. But the fact he practically endorsed faggotry voids that.

Women are the cause of mans downfall, see Adam and Eve

yea, but how do they deal with non-binary genders? this guy makes me sick.

Because they're intellectually inferior vessels powered solely through emotion, in which they eventually destroy everything they've been encumbered to govern.

The theology on this question gets very deep, but here's a relatively short answer.

The reason that women are not to be ordained is because they are not men. Sounds politically incorrect, doesn’t it?

>But the fact is that God created men to be men and women to be women.

When God chose to incarnate, he did not just choose to become a human being; he chose to become a man.

Just as he chose to incarnate into a specific time, place, people, family, and woman, so he chose to become a specific human being, the man Christ Jesus (1 Tim. 2:5).

Thus, those human beings who serve as priests in the person of Christ are men and not women.

This shocking particularity of God is not limited to choosing men to become priests. To demonstrate this to proponents of women’s ordination, you might turn the question around and ask them what it is about men that makes them unfit to bear children. Surely a man is just as physically strong as a woman and psychologically and emotionally capable of the demands of giving birth. Surely he is not inferior to a woman. Isn’t it unfair to men that only women can have babies?

This line of logic descends into absurdity, because women having children is a natural fact of life, something easily seen and understood. To shake one’s fist at the heavens and demand equal rights for men to give birth is to rail against the natural order.

At that point you can establish that men being priests is a supernatural fact of life, and to object to it is to object to the supernatural order.

The fact that the supernatural order cannot be seen and is not as easily understood as the natural order does not mean that the supernatural order does not exist.

For all the Catholic Church's issues, it is still basically operating on a pre-Enlightenment worldview, where there are strong gender roles and inequality is not necessarily a bad thing

Don't see what the fuss is all about
Men can't become sisters, nuns and matrons either

It isn't their role in a Catholic society.

At least the faggot's done one thing right

They were also all white. My how the church has lost its way

women are inherently self-serving, every aspect of their existence is either to selfishly improve their quality of life or save their life.

Funniest thing is that a couple of goat herders figured out that women are evil thousands of years ago, yet today everyone is again trying to deny this simple truth.

You can't "ban" someone from something they never had nor were ever entitled to having.

Women like all Christians do have a priestly function and capacity; but the formal priesthood originates in the divine will and by divine ordinance. Real Christian women respect that. The Church doesn't have the power to overrule divine will, law or ordinance. The Church would be guilty of serious sin if she attempted it and glaring inconsistency and hypocrisy on doctrinal and dogmatic beliefs and teaching.

>Sup Forums approved ban?
Yep. Is scriptural

And I'm a reformed Protestant

It is an impossibility.

An ordination of a woman would not be valid even if the pope said so himself.

To even try to implement such a thing would tear what remains of the church into pieces.

I suspect he was getting major pushback from the traditionalists in the Vatican. He needed to show he wasn't going to go full Liberation Theology.

Vatican politics is incredibly insular, complex, and hard to understand, granted.

It's right.

Catholics don't need women to cuck their sit up, they have the Pope for that.

Banned from presidency too. Boi frankly based af

Thx.

thanks based theology bro
