If you're looking to adopt, don't expect it to be fast or easy for a gay couple. Most states make it difficult, if not impossible, for gay couples to adopt (in some cases rightfully so, but straight, married couples are capable of sexually abusing children as well).
If one of you has a surrogate mother for the child then it's possible that you'll have to deal with a bunch of legal issues, especially if you don't have a detailed agreement before the mother gets pregnant.
Your best option is to just wait for technology to make women obsolete and have the kid that way.
