WHY would you cancel the show with arguably THE best waifus ever!?

No, seriously - what were the producers thinking?

Low ratings.

It had low ratings because people were fooled by Winx. They should have kept going, the chasm in writing quality alone would have brought audiences running back given enough time - if there were still a show to run back to.

So do you have anything else to say or are you just going to keep being a whiny faggot?

I just want season 3! It's so messed up that the ONE cartoon to actually get a large number of female characters right, both in looks and personalities, got shitcanned.

>I just want season 3
Hi Wyatt

I actually have no idea who that is.

>It's so messed up that the ONE cartoon to actually get a large number of female characters right, both in looks and personalities, got shitcanned.

It's as intended.

Can't show female characters with actual personalities and flaws, das not feminism

...

...

...

...

But the weird thing is, they don't really have significant flaws, more like ordinary personality traits. Yeah, under certain conditions that can (and does in the show) cause major problems, but it's very different from the idea you seem to agree with based on your post: that characters need to be "flawed" to be well-written. In fact that's really one of the problems introduced with feminism.

...

...

ok, last one

>Cornelia, Will, and Irma
I'd say great taste but... where is Elyon?

i don't think cartoon producers are familiar with the concept of a 'waifu' user

>you can purchase that DLC for $15 extra

That may be a problem, don't you think?

What if I'm a poorfag?

Who is best girl?

Well, flaws are in the eye of beholder. But it's nice to see story not bending out of shape to accomodate them.

Cornelia makes my dick hard. I have a thing for bitchy blonde girls.

Masochism is not healthy, user. You should probably seek help.

>But it's nice to see story not bending out of shape to accomodate them.
Yeah, that's what I meant... put in a shorter way.

He scared off a number of friendly drawfags and mods started banning him on sight.

Even though it was on very briefly and was never as popular as some other stuff from that period among my peers (Yugioh, Shaman King), I loved it and I still think about it occasionally just because it was so comfy.

The girls were different people and well-formed characters, there was a large secondary cast, the school stuff was generally interesting, the plots were good (particularly in the second season), and Weisman really kicked things into overdrive with that final arc.

Shame it didn't go on for a while - I think we could have gotten a solid 4 seasons out of the show.

Honestly I think it's just because of how cartoons are made/funded - you need to move a lot of toys and attract a particular demographic, and cross-demographic cartoons like a female action show generally struggle with that.

>cross-demographic cartoons like a female action show generally struggle with that
It's weird - you'd think boys would want to watch attractive animated girls their age, but all of the data seems to show the exact opposite.

>the plots were good (particularly in the second season)
The plotting was great in the first season too, I never got the complaints on that.

I don't hate it (in face I prefer the general vibe of the first season, I think they had a better balance between their 'real' lives and their superheroics), but it is less ambitious, in a way.

Like, season 2 had several percolating plots, rotating bad guys, plans within plans, twists and turns... In comparison, season 1 seems more straightforward.

>Typhoid Weisman
oh THAT'S why it got cancelled

Lies and slander

>Elyon
>implying she was of any importance to the cast
>implying she was anything besides a poor plot device
>implying anyone ever really gave a crap about her
Should be a free incentive to keep the game on life support

Something that's striking about this series is that all the main girls actively date guys throughout the show, the No Loves Intersect trope is in full effect, several of them are portrayed as boy-crazy at times... one has to wonder if modern SJW feminists would go apeshit over all this if it were airing now.

(They also seriously subvert female character stereotypes BTW. One obvious example: Will is supposed to be a tomboy but barely qualifies by modern standards. But most hilarious of all in this sense is Elyon: Princess Classic, innocent and kind, goes around with a nature sketchbook, clearly drawn younger than the other girls despite supposedly being the same age... and swoons over Caleb with the other girls at the party. Yeah, the writers knew what they were doing with this show.)

Yeah, when I saw that I was like, girl, you're like 13 and he's probably 16-17, control your ovaries.

Speaking of subverting stereotypes, all of the girls count: Irma was a sassy Latina who's actually a softie deep down, Taranee was a bookish girl who worries about being ignored and acts out as a result, Cornelia was an Alpha Bitch who actually cared about her friends and about helping others, Hay Lin was an air head but suffered from a lack of self-esteem... Like, these were well-done characters.

Even Elyon, who starts off as this innocent, wide-eyed "I'm a princess wheee (and I'm going to be in distress and need rescuing)" character eventually settles into being the most powerful person on the show and a competent ruler in her own right.

stalking potential sources of porn should be a permaban mate
you still down in the Valley?

You sir, can fuck right off please and thank you.

They should never have added that weird Troll character. Blunk or something? He turned me off from the show so much every time he had screentime. He was the last thing I wanted on my screen.

>Cornelia was an Alpha Bitch who actually cared about her friends and about helping others
She wasn't an Alpha Bitch at all! I'm surprised TV Tropes says she was... she was, and still is, a Valley Girl to some degree, but that's not the same thing.

But yeah, all of those qualify, just couldn't be bothered to list them all so I'm glad you did it.

I'm not really too bummed that it ended where it did. It's the only Weisman production with the most satisfying ending. The main threats are resolved and everything. The only loose ends were the government agents and the little girl with god-like powers, but they weren't treated as huge plot points either.

YJ is coming back. Whatever curse Weisman had is finally gone.

>eventually settles into being the most powerful person on the show
*ahem*

>the most powerful person on the show who is aware of and in control of her powers
Better?

He had some awesome character development throughout season 1, after the first few episodes I seriously started to think he's a great character.

characters were actually well written and believable as teens.
i'm sad that over time comics went to shit.

I read the comics until the economic crash in 2008-2009, the localizing crew got bankrupt here and they stopped publishing it. Is there any place I can finish reading it?

also liked that they had various love interests, they were breaking up and finding new guys, breaking the fairy tale rule was actually refreshing in young girls media (comics)

Its the inverse as people get older, and anime takes advantage of this. Theres people who wouldnt watch a show if it didnt have cute girls and waifu material.

>you either see a show end too soon on a high note, or last long enough to turn to shit

>Theres people who wouldnt watch a show if it didnt have cute girls and waifu material.
I wonder if there's also a discussion board for those people. Perhaps an anonymous one?

yes
the premise and art were really nice and promising, too bad original creators were fired and some monkeys took over this job

Speaking of pic related... how come the girls look so much younger in the comics, if they're actually supposed to be older than in the show?

weren't they 13-14 t the beginning of comics?
at that time some of 13yo looked like that now it's different imho

>tfw you saw WiTCH issues at your local magazine store but you never bought them
I always wanted to, but being a boy it'd be pretty embarrassing. I remember seeing one issue that came with a Heart of Kandrakar. I wish I had bought it, those are kind of rare.

>tfw you want to buy a girly item as a boy but don't want to be embarrassed even though you're only doing it because you want to have fap material

>tfw I have over 40 of whatever accessories came with the magazines

>tfw i hated cornelia as kid because she's the pretty snoby blonde
now i see she's one of the better wtritten girls from pack

Those designs look much younger though, like 10 or so.

>tfw I loved Cornelia as a kid because she was the cool and pretty popular girl
now I'd probably dislike her desu, fucking stacies

>implying that doesn't make it more embarrassing

Can't show teen girls with sexy bodies m8 - even if that is when puberty hits them like a bag of tits

The cartoon seemingly had no problem doing so, made with Disney no less.

...

maybe to make them more younger reader friendly and to make contrast with their magical, older looking selves
however in my area 13 yo looked from well-endowed to something like this, so it's not a rule

...

i liked how logical she was, at first throwing away whole magical concept
no wonder her element was earth
(talking about comics, didn't watch cartoon)

Fans from the comic didn't like it, so that's a part of the core audience lost.
And it took a season to really start taking off, a poor first impression is hard to turn around.

have my sketches

It's not just about being well-endowed or not, in fact the biggest problem is their faces - they look like kids, not teens.

But yeah, I agree that much of the contrast was lost in the cartoon. On the other hand, it does make them attractive all the time so that's a win.

as a person who appears x years younger than metric says - it is possible
also, manga does same shit, sometimes it gets even worse

They stopped publishing the comic here when interest dropped after they hit the slice of life arc.

I finally read the rest of it online, and I only ended up being disappointed in all the plot points they introduced and ended up dropping, and some of the retarded changes in personalities

>Oracle goes through lots of character development, decides to share his power with Endarno and Yan Lin to create a triumvirate so he doesn't have to make the big decisions alone
>Two arcs later
>Whole triumvirate concept has been dropped without an explanation and Oracle passes his title to Yan Lin and fucks off
>Heart of Kandrakar is eventually written out of the comic as well

Also everytime
>It's a "_____ gets a crush on a boy" issue

I wanted to like the rest of the comic, but aside a few nice issues here and there, it was just plain bad. Why did it have to turn out this way?

>And it took a season to really start taking off
As I said in I just don't agree with this. The show hooked me from the very first episode, and was already great a few episodes later.

>implying when you're 13 you won't jack it to just about anything

>implying there is any age limit for that

I never got that far, I remember reading until somewhere after Orube shows up and they finally start to get along. At what point do you recommend to drop it if I wanted to reread it?

Had

sooo who was the best girl?
i had always soft spot for irma

Yeah Irma was best girl. She was definitely the most fun.

t b h for me it was Irma>Will>Elyon

I think Arc 5, which ends at issue 63, is the last 'full' arc that's worth reading. After that there's lots of major changes to the character interactions and the villains aren't as interesting

Although it's mostly a slice of life arc, the ninth arc, 100% Witch (issues 100-117) had some nice character-focused issues, so some of the stories from it are worth checking out

Best boy

i always hated matt and was furious they broke up irma with joel

but liked cornelia with peter

That's fine, but you are the minority. Most people I see talk about the show think the first season was boring.
I thought it was alright for the most part, but the second season was a huge improvement.

>but liked cornelia with peter

>tfw the writers decided that they were never together

in the comics they ended up as a couple

maybe in some alternate timeline (as they have shown for girls to have at least two possible adulthoods)
they were perfect for each other

>It's so messed up that the ONE cartoon to actually get a large number of female characters right, both in looks and personalities, got shitcanned.
Well that's a very bold statement. I loved the show as a teen, but seeing it recently it's apparent how shallow everything is, including the characters. Albeit Cornelia is a standout.

If there is a show that has a multitude of well-written female characters, it's the one we can't talk about here.

you talking about the colorful horses or space rocks

The one that's against the rules.

some anime or colorful horses.not sure which one

I'm pretty surprised there's no references to that around here.
Like, are even memes banned? There's no like reaction images of those things either.
You'd think there would be at least a few of those guys lurking on Sup Forums.

Who Cornelia and Irma?

Yes, anything relating to it is banned.
People mention it all the time. They merely allude to it as to not get banned. Obscure images of it get called out by Barneyfag, though.

nope, peter and cornelia
but i see why people would ship cornelia and irma

>one of my favourite characters in childhood is a canon coalburner

i wonder how it would have ended if they kept original creators

>The producers are a bunch of virgin faggots who use cartoons for kids to masturbate.
Sorry to break it for you, Hoss, but not everybody in the world is that much of a loser.

All I remember is Will and her mom. Thank god for incest porn.
