why didn't the borg drones those researchers found in Antarctica just assimilate earth immediately?
It takes a lot of borgs to assimilate a whole planet
I guess their first "impulse" was to find the hivemind, not make a new one on their own.
In descent: part II, Dr. Crusher comes up with the idea to use the metaphasic shielding from the season 6 episode suspicions to get really close to a star, but it's never implied that the technology is at all related to the events of that episode. The guy who invented it (Dr. Reyga) isn't even mentioned. What's up with that? It seems weird to me.
not really they all had the nanoprobe injectors, if they'd just taken the shuttle to a populated area they probably could've used the magic of exponential growth and had 1,000 drones before anyone even knew what was happening
How would the newly made drones get nanoprobe injectors of their own though?
depends on how much of those nanoprobes they can replicate on their own with no proper energy source. All of the drones recharge regularly in their hi-tech charging stations they didn't have the access too.
why is All Good Things the only satisfying final episode of any scifi series ever?
one of those infected aliens that the enterprise picks up injects phlox, all the borg get them apparently
what's wrong with what you leave behind
I haven't seen Enterprise but they would need some kind of manufacturing base to produce more electronic implants.
dukat and winn chill in the fire caves for weeks while the war is resolved, then sisko remembers he left the oven on, teleports to the caves and dies like a bitch
the 7-year emissary/prophets/pah-wraiths arc concludes like a wet fart
The PaWraith arc was the worst part of DS9. I don't know why they threw it in when whole Dominion War felt rushed at the end and clearly needed more screen time to conclude properly.
Sisko didn't really die, he can come back someday.
Now that the dust has settled, did she do anything wrong?
Has there ever been one made up game in the whole franchise that actually looked fun/playable?
>3D chess: stupid
>Strategema: wiggle your fingers until someone is arbitrarily declared the winner and a genius
>Dabo: roulette/blackjack hybrid with two dumb looking balls and bizarre rules
>Chula: ALLAH MOAR RAIN MOVE ALONG HOME
>Dom Juat: Holographic Bumper pool where the loser gets stabbed in the heart. May be the only halfway decent Trek game but you have to play with Naussicans
>Mind Control Think Disc Through Hoop game: VR game where you have to think really hard to put a disc through a hoop. Side effects include mind control and jizz in your pants
No wonder everyone spends their time in the holodeck LARPing pre 21st century European-centric Earth stories when all the games outside of it are shit.
you're just too brainlet to get them :^
that said, Chula could be fun is you're into roleplaying (and if you removed the shit parts). And I mean, casino games are all shit, but people still like them so you can't really judge Dabo that much.
They also fucked off a lot of time trying to develop Ezri.
3D chess is fine.
Strategema wasn't well designed.
Dabo is excellent, literally nothing wrong with Dabo.
The allamaraine thing is dumb.
Dom Jot is good, you don't have to play with Naussicans.
Suck disc is stupid, but it was designed to be stupid. The whole point was that it should have been obvious something was up, since there's no way everyone would become so obsessed with such a stupid game unless it was influencing their minds somehow.
Tongo looked pretty good desu. Plus the ultimate evolution of the martial arts
>Chula could be fun
oof
Tongo is a game of psychology, planning, and persistence. Just like business in general.
Want to play.
Cardassian Kotra played by Garak and Nog in 'Empok Nor' looks like a pretty traditional strategy game.
>it's a ferengi episode
>It's a Quark and Brunt (EFFF SEEE AYYY) episode
go to bed frodo
>it's a feminist ferengi episode
Dax was far and away the worst character on the show.
Because the worm used to be inside a man, and your fragile masculinity can't handle that
She was boring but not particularly harmful.
the klingon shit was the worst part.
she was a slut
I hate Trills. They made an alien race from a mental illness. Multiple personality disorder
What is your IQ?
Tongo looked really fun to play. Would be cool if they actually made rules for the games they make up
I don't know. Why?
Was Voyager redpill?
Because your opinion is retarded.
Why? They literally suffer from multiple personality disorder by holding onto the characteristics of their former host's past lives. This is most evident when Ezri summons the memories and personality of Joran Dax, the host who was a murderer.
AND MY TIME IS FINALLY HERE
There is no such thing as "multiple personality disorder" and Dissociative Identity Disorder is nothing like being a Trill.
Next time, say that Vulcans are a race based on autism, if you're just trying to get a rise out of people.
en.wikipedia.org
>also known as multiple personality disorder,[5] is a mental disorder characterized by at least two distinct and relatively enduring personality states.[1] There is often trouble remembering certain events, beyond what would be explained by ordinary forgetfulness.[1] These states alternately show in a person's behavior.
>Dissociative Identity Disorder is nothing like being a Trill
Maybe that's why they have to be specially trained to accept the symbiont and live with multiple personalities.
>Next time, say that Vulcans are a race based on autism
I mean...
>There is often trouble remembering certain events, beyond what would be explained by ordinary forgetfulness. These states alternately show in a person's behavior.
Exactly, that doesn't describe joined Trill at all. The inspiration for the concept was based on reincarnation. Trill have "past lives" that they can actually remember, not multiple competing personalities that interrupt each other and come out one at a time.
>characterized by at least two distinct and relatively enduring personality states
You sure?
AND NO ONE'S GONNA BEND AND RAPE ME.
You don't know what a personality is. Does Picard have multiple personalities because he mind-melded with Sarek? No, he has memories of another person's life.
>Does Picard have multiple personalities because he mind-melded with Sarek?
I mean...
>not multiple competing personalities that interrupt each other and come out one at a time.
Again I point to Joran Dax and the DS9 episode Field of Fire
>Again I point to Joran Dax and the DS9 episode Field of Fire
Let me remind you what you said:
>They made an alien race from a mental illness.
Trill were introduced years before that episode. A Trill suffering mental illness in one episode does not mean that the entire race is based on a mental illness. The race is based on the concept of reincarnation and past lives.
>Trill were introduced years before that episode.
Yeah one episode v.s. an entire season of a Trill main character.
>A Trill suffering mental illness in one episode does not mean that the entire race is based on a mental illness.
You are correct on this. As only a small population of Trill actually hold the symbiont. Ezri's family were not joined and seemed like stable people, but the Trills that are more prevalent in Starfleet and onscreen are joined which is why I said it seems like they made an alien race based off a mental illness.
>The race is based on the concept of reincarnation and past lives.
This is cool but I feel was poorly executed.

remember how no one batted an eyelid at the TOS aesthetics, because they just unapologetically did it and ran with it, without lampshading or wink-winking
and how no one on television today has those kinds of brass balls so of course STD had to look like TRON had sex with Cortana at an Apple store
The main question about Jadzia and the trill symbiotes is whether the symbiotes make people into bland Mary Sues or if that was Jadzia's personality to begin with. Jadzia described herself as this scared little unconfident and untalented girl who washed out of training at the time of her joining, and she's only in her early 20s when she arrives at DS9, so it seems as if all her confidence and cocky attitude and skills are a result of the symbiote, but then when they do that reunion or whatever its called where they summon forth all the old hosts they all have distinct and varying personalities. Not to mention during the baseball game episode Ezri complains about sucking at the sport in spite of having the memories of a gymnast, so skills don't seem to transfer. So it seems Jadzia was just a cocky competent cunt from the get go and was just lying about her awkward academy days - but then she has a huge case of Qapla fever leftover from that soyboy kurzon who wanted to be bottomed by klingons. What is it? Is her own personality in control and shes just naturally a boring bitch who lies, or has her personality been subsumed by the symbient?
Textbook case of a potentially interesting character and concept completely mishandled by hack writers. Jadzia getting off by the wraith was definitely a franchise highlight.
75% of Star Trek fans are either women or some kind of queer
Maybe that one episode, kinda. It would have been better if she went to prison for second degree murder, or at least negligent manslaughter.
What? What made you come up with that number?
It's neither. I don't get how you can read such a simple thing so wrongly. Jadzia's "true" personality was an underconfident perfectionist. Being joined gave her confidence the way that getting accepted to Harvard could give confidence to a shy smart kid, so after her joining her lack of confidence was gone and her abilities could shine. I guess a self-actualized character comes across as a Mary Sue if the actualization happens off-screen. That's one of the reasons I don't think Ezri as so terrible actually, since at least they got to explore that process (which they had previously ignored with Jadzia) a little.
Facts. It has always been a gay fandom. Have you heard of slash fiction?
I agree with both of you.
Yes. I'm just mainly asking why you came up with that particular percantage
Half of people are women, half of male ST fans are queer (or trannies, doesn't matter if you count that as women or as gays, since the statistic counts both).
I'm sure that is an accurate figure. That's why a lot of them hate Enterprise. Archer is a strong, white, cis male, and faggots hate that shit.
You're very nice user :) it's so good to meet friendly people on this board who aren't mean and argumentative
Suck my ass user you're wrong and retarded
>Sisko remembers he left the oven on
That is the best summary for the episode that I've ever read
The ultra jenga that tuvok plays
>Textbook case of a potentially interesting character and concept completely mishandled by hack writers.
Well, I guess we actually kind of agree about this part at least. Putting all her character development in the backstory is a waste, and it would have come across a lot better if they had done it onscreen.
>and it would have come across a lot better if they had done it onscreen.
This. Jadzia should have been Curzon
>half of male ST fans are queer (or trannies, doesn't matter if you count that as women or as gays, since the statistic counts both).
Why do you think this?
It's a fact. Nice timestamp though.
In the pilot at least. Or kill him off in the first season. There are only like two female characters as it is, and Jadzia had an important role as Kria's "gal pal" who could talk about Morn's dick and such. There needed to be someone to create a contrast with Kira.
I'm saying Curzon(Jadzia) should just be a female
I won't argue that there aren't a lot of fags/trannies that love the show but saying half of all men that like it are gay is just over exaggerating
It's not really an exaggeration. For better or worse you like something that is quite gay. Can you handle that?
Yeah I can handle it I like anime too
Yes nitpicking how the trills and symbiotes work is pointless and impossible since its obvious the writers had no idea what they doing beyond a vague yet interesting concept.
Discovery was the time to actually start exploring concepts like that. After all isnt the meme that Audiences are smarter now? Instead we get another trek afraid to actually really reach for greatness or really address compelling conundrums. They've dumbed down trek for the tranny nerd/normie audience "OO A KLINGON SWERD FIGHT OOO SPACE LAZERS" when real trek fans just want the great questions explored further.
Are Ferengi lobes a sexual organ? Can you make them.cum by rubbing them enough? Or is it a feeling like a really good, really deep backscratch from some sexy thot with sharp nails. We'll never know now. Thanks STD.
>Are Ferengi lobes a sexual organ? Can you make them.cum by rubbing them enough? Or is it a feeling like a really good, really deep backscratch from some sexy thot with sharp nails.
I mean the way they talk about them tell me they are. "You don't have the lobes for business" or "He doesn't have big enough lobes". Just replace the word lobes with balls
Daily reminder Vulcans are little shits as kids
>copy kid Spock, but give him freckles
>copy kid Spock, but make him fat
>copy kid Spock, but make him skinny
Tough work
Daily reminder that ALL kids are little shits.
especially in Star Trek, it has a terrible record when it comes to kid actors
>Wil Wheaton
>Nikki Cox
>Keirsten Dunst
The Trek curse is real
Daily reminder that Gul Dukat did nothing wrong
He didn’t accept Christ as his personal Lord and Savior.
eh, kid actors often end up fucked up
what I meant is that pretty much all kid characters in the show are annoying little shits, starting with Charlie X and Miri, ending up with, hmm, Borg kids I guess? With many obvious examples inbetween and very few exceptions

why haven't you accepted the love of the Pah-wraiths?
m-m-muh prophets
Daily reminder Vulcans are three times as strong as humanbois and smarter too. While you're playing 3d chess and watching Shakespeare LARP in your holodeck, Earth women are out there getting GREENED. Interspecial relationships are on the rise and half-Vulcan children are the way of the future. Your girlfriend worships the superior Vulcan form humanboi, accept your place and say goodbye to your race.

Just watched the Ds9 ep where Quark cajoles Bashir and O'Brien into playing a tennis so that a percentage of the money Quark makes will be donated to Bajoran monks so they can buy blankets for Bajoran war orphans.
Why didn't they just replicate a bunch of fucking blankets and give them to them? Is the Federation really that heartless? I know about prime directive shit, but Bajorans were spacefarers thousands of years before humans were.
>human women want that BVC
>human men want that tight Vulcan bussy
in the end, who wins?
How does this make you feel humanboi?

Those two borg drones that got blown out into space are still out there right?
I wonder if temporal agents cleaned them up after Enterprise left the area
