I wish there was more of it, but know that it's better off finished.

Would have been better if it were porn.

I enjoyed it quite a bit. I need to reread it again. I first read it when I was in High School. I watched the movie, deeply enjoyed its style and aesthetic, and then went and picked up all the Graphic Novels. It was unlike anything I had read up until that point (not because it was special, but because I was ignorant), so I sort of developed an attachment to it. The last book and a half are especially excellent. The bits when it was shown how unreliable of a narrator Scott had been.

I also read the Authors next work, Seconds, which was also... interesting? Even though I'm pretty sure half the cast are shitheads and literal cucks.

The last part got weird, rest was good

The eternal question.

Perhaps the most important question.

I didn't really get it. Deliberately unlikeable characters didn't become any more endearing as I read. It was hard to tell what was supposed to be taken as allegory and what was supposed to be taken as actual events.

Kim deserved better.

GAAAAAAYYYYYY

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

He should've ended up with Knives.

I still like it a lot. I'd kill for an animated series that stays faithful to the books

When i was a kid i loved

When i became a teen i realized that Scott and Ramone were a terrible persons

Now i realize that that's was the point, and the genious of the comic was a allegory to the group of friends that we all had at the 18-25 age when people start to learn how to grow as a person

Fuuuucking this

So lame that this was just a promo for the movie

For the longest time I thought it was written by a spoiled white guy with bad taste in women.

I hated Scott's guts.

Reread only for Knives.

Scott is an asshole and he chasing another asshole.

shitty people go well together

That wasn't a question.

I think it's a great series, but I think the themes of Scott growing the fuck up and getting over himself would have been delivered better had he and Ramona had just accepted they're not good for each other and moved on.

KIM PINE IS CUTE

C U T E
U

Some of the best 2000s stuff from the North America comics scene

Scott and Ramone are assholes

Wallace and Kim are the fucking best

She was too good for him, and I think in the end Scott knew that

Ramona*

Loved it. The books, the movie, and the fuckin' radical game

Scott was such an unrelatable ass.

Knives was best girl.

I get why it got (and gets) a lot of hate, but I think the sincerity of the work makes up for the now overdone random video game references. I guess that's a bit biased of me, but everything the author references it's clear he gives a shit about.

Scott is a jerk, he recognizes that over the course of the series and fixes it to some degree. It might have been more effective to see him change more significantly, though.

I really enjoyed the moral of having to grow up and not be a dick to people in order to have successful relationships. I also really liked all the little details and background jokes that happen. You can tell a lot of love was put into it. Too bad the girl Ramona is based off of left the creator, rendering most of the point void.

I feel it's a comic written by a tool, about tools, to be read by tools.
Buddy needs to get a face wash.

The art is off-putting. Can't even start it because of that. Then I hear the characters are assholes. Hated the movie and I like Edgar Wright. What's the appeal?

It's very gay.

Seriously, why does everyone in it go gay?

It's funny, mostly. Only the main characters are assholes and that's the point of the book.

...

The comic never really clicked with me so I wasn't interested in the movie. But when I actually saw the movie at my friends house (none of whom had seen it) I was surprised at how good it was.

But the moment that really made it was near the end, when a ghostly apparition of Scott appears with glowing eyes.
>me "Oh hey, Nega Scott!"
>Knives "Nega Scott."
>announcer "Nega Scott."
>text on screen "NEGA SCOTT"
It was just one of those little moments of synchronicity.

Also the power of self-respect bit was an improvement over the original. As was Scott coming to terms with and accepting his Jungian Shadow (represented by befriending Nega Scott instead of fighting him) and growing as a person. The film definitely has a more positive message than the book.

He still picks worst girl in both versions though. But that's the point.

They are already around assholes all day,

What? Nega Scott was done so much better in the books.

>He still picks worst girl in both versions though.
Wright wanted him to pick Knives originally.

I honestly love it. Didn't 100% stick the landing at the end, but it was still really good. Movie is also fun as hell, even though it had to take some liberties. If I want to relive the story I'd rather read the comic, but I'll come back to the movie for the fantastic directing, visuals and music. It's just FUN.
Game was kinda meh, except for the GOAT soundtrack.

Also forgot to mention Kim best girl

>but I think the themes of Scott growing the fuck up and getting over himself would have been delivered better had he and Ramona had just accepted they're not good for each other and moved on.
This! A fucking thousand times this! Really, all that "they'll end up together or not" was torturing me and Scott's fucked up personality was getting tiresome real fast.

I don't even think she should end up with someone, but just grow up and actually stop to avoid the others' doubts and pain.

Are you all saying Scott pilgrim had more ass holes than bojack horseman show?

Literally the whole cast was full of AH. I'm sure Knives becomes an asshole too.

Knives deserves better. Besides she's like 5 years younger than him and didn't turn 18 until book 6

Hipster trash.

But they are sorta good for each other.Once Scott started dating Ramona it caused him to better himself. He stopped being a pussy, He started to confront the fact that he's an asshole, He even got a job. If you were looking at Scott's life OBJECTIVELY he became a more functioning member of society because of Ramona.

Lisa*

Lisa would've fucked him then and there. Also Ramona would've been totally fine if Scott made out with her (Since she did the same with roxanne). I mean there's no way he'd have known that would've been cool but it sucks in retrospect.

Ramona honestly seems like the type of girl who'd be up for a three-way.

Isn't that where it was heading when Scott, Ramona, and Kim ended up drunk on the bed? I'm pretty sure that's what Ramona was after.

Lisa was too good for Scott.

The perfect millennial series that leaves you wanting more as the characters are rich and endearing. You feel like you know them, yet want to know more about them. Peppering in action and video game logic into made for a fresh urban fantasy type drama.

One of my fondest memories is getting my different groups of friends all together to see it in theaters.

It totally was. I hope those 3 hook up at least once.

Kim was best girl and deserved better

Reminder: Scott was never suppose to end up together. Him and Ramona were going to get past their problems and be the better for it in the end, but people were like "B-but he FOUGHT for her, whats the point of all the fighting if they dont end up together? A bittersweet ending is LITERALLY like a BAD ending!". The guy who directed the movie though he was going to end up with Knives and missed the point that Scott is an asshole and was only crushed when he got rejected.

i like it. very comfy and really just. really nice. i wish i had a gf growing up

In the comics at least. Movie-Kim had too much of a RBF and a shitty attitude, because all the cool scenes with her were missing from the script.

I liked the first three books, before the drawing style got too ugly and clean.

It's better than Ready Player One.

Shit series

Shit characters

Wish fulfilment for neckbeards

>muh videogaems

>if you don't like it then you just don't understand it

So much salt in one post.

I enjoyed the first three books. After that the art style and the plot fall in the self parody.

Agreed. The first three books were pretty good, then book four came along, and suddenly pic related happened.
Also: everybody were suddenly massive cunts for no apparent reason.
