Has this happened in any other show? A side character become main case, and eventually the main character, and literally ruined everything because of the fanbase pandering?

Ayyyy Missus Cunningham
...
Gundam Seed Destiny.
and people never learned from that and wants it to happen again with another nerdy girl with glasses.
Dawson creek with the slut and pacey.
You mean like a Poochie?
isn't that more of the old cast returning and ousting the new cast out of the spotlight?
Did I do that?
when was Miles O'Brien even remotely the main character in either of the Series he was in?
The old cast that were nothing more than side characters that replaced the new casts that were the main characters. Ultimately creating 2 groups that clashed and hated each other. Doesn't matter since the writer and the director of the show were married and thus was doomed for failure. Nevermind the fact that the writer projected herself as a character and hated the voice actor/actress of the characters that were the rivals of the character that she projected herself as.
the funny thing is the /m/ guys specifically complaining about that (old cast replaces the new cast) but wants it to happen to another show (build fighters try).
I wouldn't say he really ruined it, but Psycho-Pass is like two different anime spliced together.
I'd say Steve Urkel taking over Family Matter is up there.
Arrow is different because it's a mostly original character taking over a show that's an adaptation of an existing property. Thankfully, they apparently dialed down the Felicity stuff in the latest season.
It's a shame, I really liked her in the first season.
Because the main cast of BFT are hated. They are severely lacking when compare to the original cast. Rivals were also dull and made no sense. Glasses assumed one of the fighters was the bully that defeated him in gunpla battle when they were kids and claimed him as his rival. Even acted all proud of defeating him when his wrist was injured and wasn't even 100%. His gunpla are the most boring. Martial arts kid is a 1 dimensional character with a harem. He wins not because he is better then them or because he had better teamwork, He wins because of the gunpla that a member of the original cast created and he claimed as his own after finding it in clubroom. Girl is just glorified background and member of martial art kid's harem. Uses nothing but SDs.
She was good in the second season too, 3 was where it went downhill and 4 was the nail in the coffin for her.
>They try to rekindle the romance from season 2 in the first fucking episode even though they left it ambiguous in the finale
>He turns evil because drama and then bangs her in nanda parbat
>After plot shenanigans they fucking get married and move to the suburbs for basically a single week
Heh, didn't notice that fully. I was too young.
Sheen Estevez?
...
He said "ruined the show," not " and was the best part of it."
the last few seasons were a mess because of him. It completely jumped the shark with clones and alternate personalities all of the other nonsense.
Speaking of jumping the shark, Fonzie took over Happy Days in the same way.
This nigga literally was one of the main characters and not a side character. Then he was gone for all of S2 except for a dream sequence.
7 of 9?
She was one of the only good parts of that show though.
There's a reason Jeri Ryan managed to carve out a pretty decent TV career afterwords.
The best part of that shitshow
That was because Richie left the show.
Pic related.
Felicity is fine. You guys will whine about anything.
I was willing to sort-of stick up for her in S3, but S4 was pretty much a fanfic starring Felicity.
wait what the fuck
am I on Sup Forums
who let you out of your hole
I would argue Rumplestiltskin in Once Upon a Time, except that the series actually became much better once he became the narrative focus.
trips of truth
Does anybody care about Emma or Henry?
That reminds me, when do the shows start? I want my weekly fix desu.
Sup Forums gives Okada a lot of shit but it can get much, much worse than her when it comes to female writers who ruin shows
>The old cast that were nothing more than side characters that replaced the new casts that were the main characters. Ultimately creating 2 groups that clashed and hated each other.
Oh god, same shit happened with UQ holder, fucking Negima fanboys. I mean, I liked Negima too but you have to let go after a while.
Vegeta was never intended to be a main character. 99% of the reason why he was shit on and lost every fight later in the series was due to the creator despising him and dragging him along due to be a fan favorite.
Family Matters
This guy. I mean, I actually don't mind as I was/am one of his fans and found he livened up the latter seasons of both Buffy and Angel, but I can imagine (especially if you watched Angel because you liked Angel) this was fucking annoying if you weren't on board with the Spike train. choo choo.
and now she's dead.
Kinda tragic, planning to wrap everything up in a big epic movie but then your wife kicks the bucket and the movie was put "on indefinite hold" which is a nice way saying that the movie is cancelled forever, then the man goes on to make Cross Ange which was hot garbage that nobody on the team expect you took seriously and if you look closely at the details you can see between the frames the words "THIS IS A JOKE".
What did I miss in the last season? Literally anything good?
I'm off for a couple days and wondering if I should catch up on Arrow before it starts again. I saw the first few eps and the crossover one but that was it.
no that's why they left
How is that even remotely Sup Forums?
He got his lunch served to him in middle and end of Angel though, season 5.
Season 5 was great. It had a good villain and the flashbacks finally ended.
It's the only season besides 2 that i'd say is actually good.
I don't really understand why people single out Felicity. Felicity is fine when the writing is fine, and season 3 was shit because the writing was terrible, not because Oliver and Felicity got together. Their relationship didn't suck because the characters sucked, their relationship sucked because as soon as they got intimate they both began acting wildly out of character.
Good thing she died before even more gundam seed was made. What a pile of shit.
I guess I gotta catch up on CWDC shows but I gave up on the lesbian and alien immigration bullshit on Supergirl, the Prometheus twist on Arrow, Iris will die in the future shit on Flash and Zoom always winning on Legends. Did they at least all have good season finales? Should I get back into DCCWUniverse again or just drop it entirely?
This. I used to love Randy, but he's gotten really formulaic.
Difference between Poochie and a lot of the characters here were that people didn't like Poochie from day one
Urkel and Felicity got over pretty big (especially Urkel, the squealy fucker had his own cereal and talking doll), but then they got worse with overexposure
No urkel was popular. Felicity just had a small vocal minority.
>MUH HANNAH
Though it probably doesn't count because Dexter was already a godawful show by that point.
But it's one of the few shows that held up until the end. Breaking Bad sunk deeper than it.
And not wanting more of Yvonne Stahovski is like not wanting more Jeri Ryan: gay.
I haven't watched Arrow after S1 but why is Felicity so bad and I thought Dinah was in the show?
Scott Buck ruins everything he touches.
Without Urkel, the show would never pass from a couple of seasons
Richie was second bananas to Fonzie once Fonzie moved to his family garage. It's be another season later where Richie leaves outright
Scrubs last season, but mostly from people leaving the show
Technically That 70's Show having to replace a few of the main characters.
Until it was about a group of mid 20 somethings hanging out in the basement of a family none of them were related to with Tommy Chong.
supernatural/castiel
Holy shit, that terrible opinion.
>waifufags
Disgusting
blackstar is Sup Forums shitposter
Can't speak for Supergirl, but the other three ended on cliffhangers.
Arrow:
Prometheus captured everyone Ollie cared about and took them to Lian Yu. He rigged the island with a few million pounds of C4, and made Ollie choose between killing him to save Ollie's son, which would set off a deadman's trigger and kill everyone else on the island, or let him kill Ollie's son to save everyone. Ollie tried to save both by not killing Prometheus... but Prometheus killed himself. Season ended with the island exploding with basically all of Team Arrow on it.
Flash:
They beat Savatar and saved Iris, but HR (the doofy Wells) died in the process. Barry ran into the Speed Force to take Savatar's place in the Speedforce, because it was destroying the world. S4 is confirmed to have him coming back from a months-long absence.
Legends:
Zoom wins... then loses. The baddies get the spear and remake reality where they 'won' instead of losing,
and all their heroes are dead (Flash, Team Arrow, etc), and the Legends are brainwashed servants. Legends break free, go back in time to steal the spear before they lose it, and Sarah uses the Spear's power to... remove the Spear's power, stopping anyone from abusing it in the future. Rip goes off on his own after entrusting the Waverider to Sarah,
and then a big timequake, and season ends on that.
People weren't fond of the forced will-they won't-they with her and Ollie, and she kinda muscled him out in S4 and it was basically the Adventures of Felicity, the Smartest Hacker Alive, and Ollie was just a side character in his own show.
Depending on the Dinah, yes, she is. Ollie's girlfriend in the early seasons is Laurel Lance, who becomes the vigilante Black Canary. She has no powers, but later on she gets a collar that lets her do a Canary Cry, but it's just tech. She dies, and we find out that her first name was actually Dinah, but nobody called her that. In S5, a metahuman with a Canary Cry ability is discovered to be a vigilante, and by coincidence, her name is Dinah Drake. She gets inducted into Team Arrow to carry on Laurel's legacy as the new Black Canary.
That spoiler. The fuck is happening in arrowverse.
Why do they even bother with Black Canary anyway? They suck.
The only time I could think that "yep, this is Black Canary, an important character to Green Arrow mythos" was in season 2 with Sara
For all the bitching about Laurel's death, she did literally nothing memorable in the entire season 4 and died.
Same with this new Dinah, she was consistently the most useless and forgettable team member, even Terrific (who's a massive bitch in that incarnation) was more competent and had more spotlight.
Supergirl:
The Luthors modify a weapon Lex built to make the atmosphere toxic to Daxamites. They all die and the invasion is repelled. Supergirl's boyfriend Mon-El is forced to leave Earth forever. Flashback to the day Krypton exploded shows that another pod from a house with a crest that resembles a skull was sent to Earth. It was confirmed to be Reign and the Worldkillers from New 52 Supergirl. Oh, and President Linda Carter is secretly an alien.
Cripes those finales! I ended up spoiling all 4 shows but I'm kinda glad I did cause I didn't want the effort to watch the last few episodes. But what the hell? All four shows seemed to be crossing over in shared continuity so it seems weird they're all on a different tangent. I guess this season's crossover will reboot recon everything again.
Fucking Felicity fans! Doesn't anyone get that this Mary Sue OC poorly written bitch emotionally manipulated not just Ollie but Ray AND Barry? ! That's fucking unbelievable since those guys are DC fucking major senpai. Bruce would straight up exile the bitch if she was in DCU proper for what she puts his buds through. And in total Mary Sue fashion she friendzones heroes into her harem of cucks.
