Should I see this movie before it goes out of theaters? It seems to have a limited release.
Is it even good? It only has a 66% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes
Annihilation
Yes.
It's out on netflix literally tomorrow
kinda bummed about it because it is a movie I would have gone to see.
I don't know why you people think we care if you see it.
No, its sucks. The books never go anywhere. The movie is a condensed version of that. Nothing happens.
and I don't care that you don't know, now fuck off
I don't make threads about it.
I never read the books so that doesn't matter to me. I want to know about how the movie stands on its own
make me
I saw it tonight and thought it was good. I would recommend watching it in a theatre.
Wtf you're right, why did it get a theatrical release? and is it only on netflix in australia?
I saw it tonight and thought it was quite good. It had this abhorrent, "off" tone / quality to it that kind of reminded me of The Thing, but with a female cast. It's good cosmic horror, if you want to call it that. Great, unsettling visuals.
I did think that the movie had too much needless exposition. There were so many times when I could totally tell what was happening from the visual storytelling (which was great and easy to follow) and then a second later they would needlessly overexplain it to make absolutely sure the audience got it.
I also wish the plot was told more linearly. I'm not a fan of all the jumping around / flashbacks.
A better question is "why is it not getting a normal full theatrical release?" A lot more people would see it if it weren't known to be coming to netflix so quickly
If I liked Road Side Picnic & the STALKER games would I enjoy this?
One of the three movies I've seen this year that I've been anticipating that didn't disappoint.
So at the end, does Lena become infected by Kane or something when she hugs him? Her eyes turned all reptilian (like his) when he was squeezing her. I know he's a doppleganger, but she is the real her because you saw her doppleganger die.
Also Kane couldnt have survived in Area X for 12 months right? That doppleganger had to have been wandering around for a while before he inexplicably appeared in Lena's and his house.
producers infighting and lacked faith in it so it gets a very limited theatrical release only in the US then immediately dumped on netflix not even a month later
>SJW pandering
>miscegenation
>garbage psuedo-cerebral sci-fi in the same vein as Arrival and Ex Machina
you should be glad you saved your bucks. Just torrent it like a normal person
Sup Forums please go.
If you like watching a group of women suffer, then yes.
>that bear scene
reddit please go
No one who enters the Shimmer comes out unchanged. In one scene, Lena was viewing her own DNA sample and watched cellular mitosis split into two different kinds of cells. So she was definitely changed in someway.
If i wanted my comeback, I would of wiped it off your dads chin
