Annihilation

Any place to watch or download this movie yet? Should've come out on Netflix just a few days ago. No theatrical releases in Europe (unfortunately) and don't have Netflix.

According to IMDB it already released on Netflix in some countries you fuck.

I think you should see it I theaters. The final scenes are visually damn good.

fuck off with all this shilling

Tomorrow for netflix my dude. Id give it maybe only a few hours before someone puts up a totrent. Its really good. Watch with as few distractions as possible. Also, in the dark.

is it true that Alex Garland actually directed Dredd even though he didn't take credit for it

its up in NZ. Its 6am monday 12th if that matters.

See it in theaters for bigger visuals and to appreciate the overwhelming soundtrack at the end.

He is in Europe, it only got released theatrically in US. I agree though ending was kino.

It should be available on Netflix Australia/NZ already

What did we think of this movie?

For me:
>visually appealing
>intriguing storyline
>breddy gud up until about 2/3's into the movie
>eager to find out what's going to happen
>final 1/3
>dude aliens LMAO

overall 6/10 movie. The ending felt like a cop-out. "We don't know how to make this end in a satisfying way, so check it out: it's all aliens LMAO we don't gotta explain shit!"

but the ending isn't actually "dude aliens"

I agree explanation wise it could have been better, but you have to admit the way the alien mimicked her was eerie as fuck. Best part of the movie for me.

/r/ing nat pantsu

Natalie.

>that scene where natalie is riding that BBC

oooo yes

man and she does it so slow, you can tell she's just squeezing her pussy to orgasm

It truly wasn’t “dude aliens LMAO”. Yes: they make a spectacle of the alien revealing itself because, you know, it’s the climax of the movie. However, the alien killing itself really ties the movie together.

Maybe the Alien chooses to let itself die (kills itself) because it absorbs Lena’s self-hatred and Kane’s suicidal tendencies. This gives meaning to the blacked scenes and the affair narrative. Maybe by coming to earth the an immortal force of nature learns what death is.

Look, "dude aliens lmao" might be a reductionist way of looking at the ending, but it's not unfair to say the ending was unsatisfying. It's the kind of ending that probably worked well in the textual medium, but was lost in translation when adapted for film.

I'm not being harsh on the movie either because I felt the first 2/3's of the movie were so good that they deserved a better ending.

why was oscar isaac confused about who he was in the lighthouse?

it got theatrically released in Canada and China as well

I was wondering this too, he seems to have put on a southern accent. Maybe his cells had started to fuse with another crew member's?

The movie is way different from the book, especially the ending, which was completely different.

5 hours

the zone was fucking with his mind because he was in there too long

how did Kane's doppelganger get inside his old house with Lena at the beginning

those rifles look huge

Is it safe to assume that the Shimmer is located somewhere around the Louisana bayou, With the lighthouse being on the gulf coast or Mississippi delta?

false, there are no torrents of it yet.

>entire motivation for the leads of the movie to enter the shimmer is Natalie Portman cucking her husband with a black dude
This movie is ridiculous

What's so ridiculous about that? She thought her husband was dead.

No, the husband goes in in the first place because he finds out he's getting cucked. When we see them fucking he's left, but they been doing it for a while

so deep guilt and betrayal is not a good motivation? are you a retard?

>Adapt movie from book
>In the book husband has faithful Asian waifu who goes in and stays in all to find and save her husband
>In movie version the wife is some white bitch that cucks her husband with a black dude
Huh, what could they have meant???

for you

Does this cover only the first book. Would not want to watch without having read the last two books.
The plot is actually enjoyable, read the first book in a day which is a rare occasion for me.
This cucking stuff I hope it is trolling, there was none in the book

Florida I think

It's only covering the first book. It's very very very loosely based though, there's very few similarities at all. The fucking stuff is real

Why was this so unpopular?

Try netflix

Cucking*

Got it, it will be like American Gods where the only thing the adaptation shared with the source material was the title.

I wonder if the fact that the alien had assimilated Ventress (with her terminal cancer) had anything to do with it allowing the grenade to go off in its hands (instead of just dropping it and mirroring her as she fled)

It's out on Netflix Australia, it's currently 7:32am Monday the 12th

It was just shitty writing

Shit, I mean 7:23am

The director basically took the title and the fact that there are female scientists investigating Area-X but nothing else is the same. There is a whole attempt at introducing a few sloppy themes, completely changing the meaning of the story. And the cucking is real and ridiculous.

no, you just don't get it because you're a pleb

K

they sound like garbage in the movie. Nothing like an AR15

NZB when

Oh wow the cucking wasn't in the book?

Jesus, was Sup Forums right all along?

she hates herself for doing it though so it's okay

The area had altered him and his team so much that he wasn't sure how much of the original him actually remained. He couldn't bare the thought of him unknowingly becoming something else so he chose to end it on his own terms.

8 hours since release
and no torrent
how come, Sup Forums?

this
where is the fucking torrent? Is it that hard to turn a netflix stream into a mkv file?

I have Netflix but I'm in America
is there any way I can watch this

visit your local movie theater

it wasn't about superheroes

>However, the alien killing itself really ties the movie together.
ummm thats a LIE made up by the alien. you see the movie as the alien pretending to be natalie portamn is telling the story. its LYING to the people. she doesnt kill the alien the alien kills her

why is best girl all the way in the back?

Any place to download: Kantaro, the Sweet Tooth Salary man??

Attached: kantaro-sweet-tooth-salarymanb.jpg (800x451, 55K)

so how does netflix decide the release time?

is it based on location?

yes user time zones

yeh but is it for your location or do they "unlock" on local time for netflix hq

Someone pls link a mega download when they get their hands on it.

Attached: 1520614591130.jpg (500x375, 32K)

i can't watch it even with an australia vpn + australia time zone on my pc + cleared all cookies

As much as it pains me to say it, Sup Forums is almost always right about shit... don't tell them I said that though.

What was the book ending? Curious because I just got back from the movie and was pretty disappointed with it.

Loved this movie

Light house is actually a demon contained in glass and there's no way to stop it from destroying the world, and unlike the ayy lmao with a pussy in the movie it's actively malicious.

Attached: 1507445348645.png (645x729, 147K)

I just tried using ExpressVPN and a Paris server and was able to at least find the title on their site. Still says coming March 12th. I'm in the US and it doesn't appear at all without my VPN on.

The only good part was the bear scene, pretty spooky shit, everything else was fake deep.

that sounds worse

Portman leaves the door open for BBC

how many hours till it releases?

30 minutes?

that sounds fucking terrible

It was awful and a snorefest, I had to force myself through the last chapters. There was also a retarded subplot about teh ebul sekrit government that's too smart for you introduced around the end of the first book and that was so retarded I just skipped every part where it was mentioned.

>Light house is actually a demon contained in glass
that is not at all the book ending, you nigger

Attached: anakin 1.jpg (724x723, 71K)

you're listening to a person who couldn't read a short series of sci fi books and is a vocal and open brainlet

You still can't watch it though for some reason. Maybe I'm doing netflix wrong but I'm clicking on it and nothing is happening. It says March 12 but you can only add it to your 'list' at this stage. Maybe later on today...

What's wrong with that? They're allowed to improve on the source material.

desu I thought it was pretty good

yeah, you can skip most of authority. it was so pointless.

the book ending is more or less vague, no real revelation as to the purpose or origin of Area X, just the nature of it. The biologist just decides to give it up and let the place transform her. That's it. No demons or whatever that soycerer said. The series then (STOP NOW IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW) goes behind the scenes of The Southern Reach and what it does and doesn't know. We end up finding out in the last book that a strange imperfection in a fucked-up crazy refractive lighthouse lens was more or less a leak to another dimension/planet/level-of-reality that is only doing crazy shit with people and animals as a form of communication. It's not even remotely supposed to be Hell or a demon or whatever. We can never really know what it wants because we can't read "fucking with nature" as a language. Also, the lighthouse keeper is a tremendous fag

Support this movie if you can please. We need more good sci-fi and I want the sequels, Authority and Acceptance, to get made too.

The original book ends when she goes in the hole and it doesn't explain what she finds down there.

Somehow the movie actually had more closure.

thanks for correcting/clarifying. still sounds worse than the movie though.

>skips entire sections of book
>doesn't understand it

I'm not saying it's good... I've never read it. But Jesus how dumb can you be?

>I wonder if the fact that the alien had assimilated Ventress (with her terminal cancer) had anything to do with it allowing the grenade to go off in its hands (instead of just dropping it and mirroring her as she fled)
No. It wasn't the alien the grenade.

i read it. im talking in retrospect dumbass.

*holding the grenade

where
can
i
see
it

What time does it get released on Netflix? What time can we expect the torrent to drop?

Just saw this, the final bit was pretty cool but the rest of the movie was ass

explain how you know it was not the alien
