SyFy acquires Futurama

Well this sort of kills the mood of Meanwhile.
But do any of you guys think there might be a renewal with new seasons? Or is it just lame rerunning in between crap SyFy content

100% Reruns

Great, so the show is going to get raped AGAIN.
Weren't the movies and the Comedy Central episodes enough punishment?
Can't they just let the show die in peace?

and yet they STILL won't bring back Jim Henson's Creature Shop Challenge

can't be any worse than how badly CC butchered their syndication cuts

The syfy ain't interested in purchasing a show just for the reruns, they've got plenty in their library already and if the creators just wanted to have the show rerun they'd have given it back to Adult Swim or ran it on FXX

This is a precursor to yet another revival

This

does Sci-Fi still have those creepy bumpers

I remember this one with some fairy-humanoid creature crawling on the screen, it was pretty scary

Does this mean we're getting super campy space adventures now?

nope, its basically late g4 but worse now.
I miss anime nights, it was brief but it holds a place in my heart.

ANIMONDAY

spinoff maybe?? Futurama is done. yeah, trying to restart it would be awful.

but, the Adventures of Zapp Branigan? I'd watch that.

100% chance of reruns

0% chance of new episodes

We all know this user.

i liked their anime block

Futurama had seven seasons and 140 episodes. It had like five series finales too. I don't need any more, frankly.

You don't purchase a show just to air reruns, that's what syndication is for. This most likely means some sort of revival.

At a certain point, it's more dignified to just let a show die instead of stringing the corpse up and dancing it around for the fifteenth time.

In any case, it would be an improvement for Syfy.

YA MOVIN' ON UP, SPOOPS!

Who even watches SeeFee anymore?

>first fully animated show in Syfy's lineup

Are they pretending that Sci-Fi and Syfy were really two different channels and not a horrific misfire of a rebranding or just that Tripping The Rift never existed?

I could arguments in either favor.

I watch Expanse.

Blood Drive was fun, and Channel Zero is pretty good.

Expanse is the motherfucking shit

tripping the rift is CGI, not animation

>tfw no Rocinante .

I liked Dark Matter

>100% Reruns
What he said.

user, it exists, and its named Space Dandy

>It marks the first fully animated series in Syfy's lineup
The anime block doesn't count?

This, Futurama ended before the first godawful movie.

Could Syfy even afford the production of Futurama episodes?

No
Neither does Tripping The Rift, I guess

With all of that Sharknado money, yes
Maybe even another Futurama movie

>But do any of you guys think there might be a renewal with new seasons?

How was the Nerdist podcast episode received? That may factor in, possibly. But is more than likely right. This is the exact kind of relatively inexpensive timeslot filler than cable channels LOVE.

SyFy is a shell of its former self. this was the last show that gave me a reason to watch them and they cancelled it mid season with no reason

...

I just remembered that time I saw WWE Wrestling on SyFy.

HAHAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
