Is that a fucking gokart track at the bottom right?
too expensive
I agree. it was a fascinating place that needs a good movie about it.
Bloodsport was shot there.
I can only imagine what daily existence in that cesspit must be like.
no it wasn't
hella f*cking comfy
There's a german documentary on Youtube. Also the "open-world" dreamcast game Shenmue II was set there.
City of God is set in the Favelas of south america that comes close.
There's a new place now called Chunking Mansions... same crowded megacity 2000 cesspool thing going on there...probably many kowloon residents live there now.
The German documentary is still very interesting
What would they have made?
There's the film Chungking Express, that has the crowded feeling to it.
no space for film crew
>Chinks could remove this whole slum
>We can't remove small slums in Brazil because leftist journos and artists cry about it to justice and make them stop the government
I was really disappointed when I found out it wasn't the real walled city.
favelas are /comfy/

Dredd was pretty good mate
take a look at the documentaries on youtube
The Raid maybe?
It was set in there, and some shots were on location. The fighting area supposed to be in the walled city was obviously in a studio though.

Hong Kong lost all of its identity when it became Chinese
Not entirely not yet, but it's a losing battle with no hope on the horizon.
Where would you film it? It was demolished in the early 90s.
Every British colony went to shit when they left the empire. Gandi was assassinated two years after India became independant.
Watch the first ten minutes of Dredd
Black Ops 1 was really the last great COD game before it all went to hell. That featured a mission in Kowloon, pretty cool looking place. Real dystopian stuff.
this is fucking amazing user
Yeah, I watched the whole thing right now. Seems like a pretty awful place to live desu.
Those kids in that nursery where they eat and sleep in shifts in the same room. Those sleeping kids under the florescent lights. No fucking windows my god user. And an old colonial cannon bolted right into the floor. it's pretty amazing
