I like Hannity. He's not a bad guy. Trouble is, he's not a great politico, he's just got a prominent position. He's more of a "conservative anchor" than a real journalist or political analyst. He doesn't have the political MIND for being a serious politico (and he knows it - he talks about his lack of a college degree from time to time). However, he speaks clearly, and thinks clearly, and he does some pretty good interviews. Like O'Reilly, he takes the moral high ground and preaches from it, which can be tiresome to those of us who listen to him regularly (I do a lot of driving). and when he gets into his "high dudgeon" his voice goes up, he gets loud, and he stays that way for the rest of the hour.
So yeah, he fucked up with the twitter thing. Thsi happens in this media age. Rush has done it half a dozen times too. They own it and move on.
Sean Hannity is just your generic good guy Joe Blockhead conservative and he does well with it.
To his credit, he has always said "I am a commentator, not a journalist," unlike some other commentators who pretend to be journalists.
O'Reilly is a bully and an asshole many times, and is definitely right-leaning biased, but he's still several orders of magnitude better at journalism than Hannity.
You notice that even many left-leaning talk shows invite O'Reilly on, but they never invite Hannity.
Uh, yeah. Well, O'Reilly is definitely more talented and experienced than Hannity. He's even demonstrated professionalism by going on the road with Jon Stewart. I won't argue with you when you say he's a bully -- some would call it "confrontational" and "cheap", but he does what he does. He's definitely smart, and he knows his audience.
Hannity...yeah, he doesn't appear on many other talk shows (I can't think of any). They probably guess that he'd get angry and talk over the other guests, and basically charge at anyone else in the room like a bull. Stephanopoulos would probably take him apart in a political debate, but neither one would have anything to gain by such a confrontation.
