Marvel Legacy may as well have been an issue of Previews. Why would anyone in their right mind buy it.

Is this actual comics sold or comics shipped to the Lcs? Because Marvels panel was angry at not being able to move Legacy.

comics shipped to Diamond customers

What does that mean?

They (Diamond customers, e.g. comic book retailers) place orders on what they want to stock and how many per item.

so this is not an indicator for shelf sales?

As far as I'm understanding this is just an indicator of how many copies comic book retailers bought, not shelf sales.

It makes sense people compalined at Marvel's NYCC panel then if they bought this much and can't move the issues.

>Marvel Legacy comes fifth in sales the week it came out
>Comes in number 1 for unit sales at end of the month
Good to see Legacy will continue Marvel's overshipping boner.

It's representative of how many comics were shipped to stores and are not representative of sales or even number of orders stores made considering it came out that Marvel will sometimes give twice as many copies as a store orders. They will also not cover shipping so stores will wind up paying more for books they didn't even ask for just so marvel can say their numbers are good.

I work at a comic store in Australia and we ordered 40 copies of Legacy because we were hoping it would be a big hit. We got sent 65 and so far have 35 still sitting on the shelves. We are now giving copies of it away with every 3 marvel purchases just because it's taking up room.

Does anyone else think the placement of some of this books are weird especially the dc books?

>always the same excuses
How about these "rioters" do more than just be passive aggressive on twitter then, huh? Because at the end of the day, their bitching on twitter doesn't change shit if they keep ordering these comics that supposedly don't sell.

Definitely a rise over last month which was at Rank 60, and this month had more big releases than last month's so I'm confident this had a rise.

Interest for this died fast.

> 65. SUPERGIRL #13 (DC ENTERTAINMENT)
Goddamnit, Yang get a cheesecake artist on New Super-Man to do the covers, I'm fucking salty how huge a rise this got. And I'm sure it wasn't Rocha because as much as I adore his art I just fucking know it's because they got ArtGerm doing the alternate cover.

>Every fucking thread
It just took 14 months for it to dip below the Top 50, on a month flooded with big releases pushing a lot of books of their usual rankings.

Because it's bullshit propagated by DCkeks. Both of the big two overship. DCs market share is 30% while unit share is 37%. Marvels market share and unit share are both 38% last month. This indicates DC did a lot more overshipping last month.

>DCs market share is 30% while unit share is 37%

A number of DC's better performing books are a dollar less than their usual books so yeah, most of their high unit moving books do amount less on the dollar share. And unless retailers are hush hush about it, literally no one has ever complained about DC sending extra books at them because it doesn't happen you mouseketard.

It's still been selling at below New 52 numbers and for a dollar less each issue. That's not good.

I don't care. At this point I feel compelled to do it, like it ain't a good day if I don't do it

every book is selling below early 10' era numbers.

Like 10 books are a dollar less. Still doesn't even begin to a count for such a big difference between market and unit share.

And why did this large difference in unit vs market just suddenly show up last month?

Did I stutter? I don't care. Harley is selling poor each month, that's all I care

No retard, DC's books are just cheaper

>Like 10 books are a dollar less
Yes, and all those books are the ones DC has on the Top 50, the ones selling above 40K meaning the ones that make up the lion's share of the Unit Share. Unless you somehow have evidence of DC overshipping you're spouting bullshit.

>19. TEEN TITANS #12 (DC ENTERTAINMENT)

>retailers literally say DC doesn't do it

Not by a lot There are only about 10 comics still left at 2.99 and even those double ship so it's still 6$/month.

> 48. MISTER MIRACLE #2 (MR) (DC ENTERTAINMENT)
It's up 12 spots from last month and this month had a lot of contention. Good for King.
Obligatory King haters BTFO

Rich the Leech's retailer friends have spoken: They agree with the placing of the titles in the initial CMX Top Ten for last Wednesday except with TWD, and most of them are negatively affected by the reception of Legacy.

user because collectfags are suckers for 1st EDITIONS, and shit like this SELLS a LOT

Variant cover collectors, Marvel shills and the occasional new fag. Mostly the variant cover collectors and Marvel shills. Compared to DC Rebirth, Legacy feels like the usual one shot shit or issue #0 that Marvel's been doing before some big event. It's literally fucking nothing. DC Rebirth promised a back to basics with what people loved from the pre-New 52 era while improving the bad of the New 52 and keeping the good stuff from it. Legacy isn't that. It's Marvel saying that they're doing the same thing but then slapping you in the face. For one, no one was asking for the OG Wolverine to come back because most people like Old Man Logan and Laura as Wolverine. Him coming back is dumb. Same shit with Jean coming back. WHO THE FUCK WAS ASKING FOR JEAN FUCKING GREY TO COME BACK!? We have the shitty teen Jean, too. Starbrand being killed off doesn't help, the 1,000,000 BC Avengers weren't even that touched upon and were only there for a minor flashback. The whole thing was a fucking bait and switch. I wanted to see Odin teaming up with Agammotto and caveman Ghost Rider and in the first couple of pages, the fucking Ghost Rider mammoth is dead. Fuck Marvel. They can't even set up a new status quo or event without fucking it up.

It turns out that the collectfaggotry of the 90's is not quite dead.

Ok. Then why this difference between unit and market share that never existed before? The only explanation is over shipping. Comichron explains it the same way.

All the events marvel does

>> 70. SUPER SONS #8 (DC ENTERTAINMENT)
RIP

The last time it was around 50.

at this point the conversation is ridiculous, everybody knows Legacy was overshipped, everybody, Marvel keeps alive many titles overshipping and Disney has the money to do so, they are overshipping x2, x2 or x4 but readers aren't buying it, they buy Marvel and Legacy but not enough for those big numbers

without the #1s the book could have been 39. That's normal for Harley, if something this indicate September, her anniversay didn't sell Palmiotti's book. Come back in one year at least

>As far as I'm understanding this is just an indicator of how many copies comic book retailers bought, not shelf sales.
Yeah that’s right. This is how Marvel works the system to come out seemingly superior. They’ve been doing this for years too.

>35 floppies take up too much space
user you lie.

Why are you so bitter?

>Kingsman not in top 100
Millar BTFO

Now's a good time to remember that Marvel forces dozens of extra copies of its books onto retailers to artificially boost Diamond's numbers.

That #1 slot is totally bogus.

>still butthurt at classic Harley gone forever

Actual sales numbers to reading customers aren't ever published, because you'd have to get all of the retailers to compile their sales. The only direct to readers sales figures are the Comixology lists, but those never have actual numbers, only placement. Digital is also only a small segment of the total readership.

All of these numbers are just Diamond shipments to shops. Good luck finding an LCS that doesn't have a stack of Legacy #1 sitting around, taking up needed space and gathering dust.

Yeah there's a ton of Legacy floppies still in my LCS shelves. People usually eat lenticulars where I'm from so surprising it hasn't been cleaned out yet.

>It's still been selling at below New 52 numbers and for a dollar less each issue. That's not good.

It's also shipping twice a month you inbred spastic

>How about these "rioters" do more than just be passive aggressive on twitter then, huh?
They are. They're NOT BUYING Marvel.

>Both of the big two overship
It's well documented that Marvel overships way, way, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more than DC is doing now or has ever done. I'm not aware of DC doing any overshipping in the last year. Meanwhile there are dozens of stories of Marvel overships, complete with scans of order forms showing proof.

>Still doesn't even begin to a count for such a big difference between market and unit share.
Marvel shipped 325,000 copies of a $5.99 book, whether retailers wanted them or not.
325,000 x $5.99 a lot of HYPOTHETICAL money showing up in the dollar share.

Marvel ships the product to them anyway. And retailers not buying Marvel hurts their business too.

Honestly, the comic industry as a whole is pretty shitty given that things like that are perfectly allowable.

Is it really selling that poorly? We've got double-shipping on a lot of titles, events, etc., and Harley places two books in the mid-50s. How is it bad if she's still the 22nd best-selling title in the entire industry?

She's selling around Saga numbers, fwif.

BTW I hate the current Harley series and creative team. But I'm not seeing how her sales are massively falling off much worse than anything else. You look at the titles that have leap-frogged her in sales, like Action, Detective, Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash... Those are titles have objectively become more popular. It's not like Harley is sinking; it's that other (mostly DC) titles are becoming relatively more popular.

The power of an event people actually want to read

Too bad the crossover was shit.
And I'm mad Schmidt's sexy art is gonna be wasted on Percy's shit writing again in TT.

If DC actually overshipped, retailers would not be quiet about it.

They probably would if the comics were getting brought

Actually that's a good point. Retailers' complaints is mainly that Marvel overships stuff that don't sell for them.

I'm going to be pissed when this and New Super-Man die.

I'm still holding out for a possible JLC book.

Idk why they stock it so low, it's always sold out at all my LCSs

Yang pretty much confirmed it on twitter after the last solicitations. He said that #18 was going to be the last issue, then _____ happened

It's going past 18 in some capacity

It got pushed down by the big release and 70 is still above 30k. It's going to be fine

It's only on issue 8 and already below Harley. 10 is going to be out of the top 100.

>Super sons #5 37,022
>#6 35,461
>#7 34,165

Out of the top 100 is about 22k. You're scaremongering for no reason.

>92. BATMAN THE SHADOW #6 (DC ENTERTAINMENT)
I guess interest for this one died fast.
I don't know why they are doing a follow-up if it sold poorly.

That's not so bad for the last issue of a mini

#92 would mean that book is at the 20,000's and the sequel is being published by Dynamite instead of DC.

By Dynamite's standards 20,000 is a really high number.

To me it seemed like quite a drop compared to the previous ones which were around the 70 mark (and the series dissapointed expectations around the final issues so I thought this was part of the reason)
But I'm not very familiar with how sales work with these lists so it probably means more than I presumed it did.

I see.

That's because the lenticular covers don't work.

so sad

Something to note is that last month, Batman/Shadow was #78, Thanos was #85, Black Panther was #86 while OP's listing has Thanos at 91, Batman/Shadow at 92, and Black Panther at 93.

I doubt that Thanos or Black Panther had much of a loss in sales so they're probably somewhere between 21,000-24,000, so Batman/Shadow #6 probably are as well.

idiot she's that crazy girl is always bothering everybody saying Palmiotti needs to be MORE gay since at the end of the day Palmiotti wants to promote his own character Red Tool instead of some romantic story with Ivy. Although DC probably doesn't want any serious HarleyIvy and soon or later Harley Quinn will be officially non canon (we know it isn't canon anyway)

so this Harley is going down but slowly and it sounds stupid to celebrate that every month

I thought it'd sell more

>42. RUNAWAYS #1 (MARVEL COMICS)
Well . . . let's hope Marvel remembers how this series actually sells.
