Who here is pleased the High Court took the decision it did today?
When you talk about an establishment stitch up, people look at you as if you're a crazy conspiracy theorist, about to go off on one about steel beams and chem trails.
Finally, people are beginning to see the absolute contempt in which they're held. How little they matter. Let the revolution come

As they should. The "findings" of the case were basically that the government couldn't invoke article 50 because that would deprive the people of the right to use EU institutions and the government can't deprive people of their rights even though the people voted for it and it is written directly into the european treaties that the prime minister has the sole authority to invoke exit via article 50.

Reminder that the Mail is also the paper that broke the recent story that Huma Abedin's husband sexting with a minor which led to the FBI investigation into him, the seizing of his computer, and eventually the re-opening of the Clinton e-mail investigation two weeks before the election potentially swinging the entire thing for Trump.
There is no paper more based that the Mail, and I'll fight anyone who says otherwise

Furthermore, there have been many treaties that removed our rights incrementally and nobody called for Parliament to have a vote then.
Parliament is still sovereign. If it is unhappy with the executive it can have a vote of no confidence in the government.
Colton Gonzalez
On the basis of my knowledge of constitutional law (and I have formally studied this), the decision seems kind of strange.
In Australia, in which we based most of our law off England, the entry into treaties is solely for the executive government.
Parliament only comes into play by turning the terms of the treating into legislation (supporting legislation). The power to invoke provisions of a treaty remains with the executive government unless otherwise stipulated in the terms of the treaty.
A treaty is equivalent to a contract between nations. If the government entered into it, they are effectively the 'party' to the contract, I cannot see was reason there would be for parliament to be involved.
Has anyone read the judgment and can explain?

Owen Rogers
>the decision seems kind of strange That's because it is strange. The court has exactly no jurisdiction since it can only be involved in domestic law. Up until the point that the exit procedure involves domestic law they have no authority and invoking article 50 itself does not in itself involve domestic law.
tl;dr they're full of shit
>muh u wanted parliament to be sovereign rite These faggots, people wanted their politicians to be accountable to the people. But remainers are all of a sudden all psychics. There was me thinking people voted to leave because of muh racism.

What is it with people and a lack of common sense these days?
I'm an employer and the amount of my employees thar think it's OK to piss me off is really baffling. Do people think pissing off the boss is a good thing for their long term employment prospects?

Don't really see what the problem is. Parliament will vote article 50 through regardless. If they don't they're signing their own death warrant, either by the mob or sent to the gulag by Corbachev. Why does this rile you up Sup Forumssters?

Literally this I have no idea where this belief that I'm paying people to do anything more than shut up and do as their told.

He has attacked Christians before for claiming that the Magna Carta and Bill of Rights were based on religious belief in the authority of God being above that of the State
He also claimed that the men who signed it were atheists because they were all too clever to believe in God despite it being centuries ago
