>the sun in our solar system is the only star
Yes, should've stopped right there

I did smilar when I was forced to go to sunday school age 8... lasted barely half hour before being thrown out

Only atheists think in terms of science vs religion. Think of it this way, science is the measure and study of the physical using observation and experimentation. By it's very nature it cannot presume to offer any substantial view on the metaphysical. You cannot materially quantify the immaterial. It's like looking through a microscope and trying to find an atom of justice or a molecule of mercy.

I hope you see why you're being fallacious.

wow Sup Forums now compares themselves to young sheldon

what fucking shit show of a site this is

>calling a pastor a priest

Do R*dditors always do this?

pastor priest and reverend are synonyms

>reddit larps

WOAH WATCH OUT WE GOT A BADASS OVER HERE

I just watched this and I spent the entire clip repeating the words "This is reddit, this is memes, this is reddit, this is memes..." under my breath.

I fucking hated it. I was writhing around on the floor in front of my sofa for the last 30 minutes it was so painful.

>Ayy bazinga lmao
If you liked it you're in the wrong place

>Was the word "Kaboom"?

Chuckled.

those top comments made me laugh more than the actual video

Dumb Racist Christians DESTROYED Compilation #18 Why You Should Accept Islam And It's Beautiful

religion destroys itself op

>So gods a photon?
Photons are a work of god.God is not a product of photons. Also in the metaphorical sense yes god is a photon. Bringing light to a void. Why is this so hard for redditors to understand.

And what is immaterial, if not just concept?

Islam has the same origin story you illiterate fuck.

It's a sitcom joke. There is meant to be an applause break

And That's A Good Thing

Atheism is the fastest shrinking religion in the world. Atheism is in decline worldwide, with the number of atheists falling from 4.5% of the world's population in 1970 to 2.0% in 2010 and projected to drop to 1.8% by 2020,

Real surveys and statistics say atheism is on the decline worldwide. Sorry atheists but atheism is not on the rise nor is it winning. It's still the minority and a declining one at that.

The Pew Research Center's statistics show that atheism is expected to continue to decline all the way into 2050 with a continued growth of religion. Other research also shows a huge surge in growth for Christianity in China which is currently the world's most "atheist" nation because of the atheist communist government suppressing religion, the research suggests that China will soon become the world's most Christian nation within 15 years.

This is simply history repeating itself: Christianity prospered in Rome back in the ancient era when it was suppressed and it still grew in the militant atheist soviet Russia when it was suppressed there only a century ago with the majority of Russians today now also identifying as Christian. Just goes to show that atheist suppression of religion still doesn't stop religion.

>that awkward minute where the cast stares at the camera for you to laugh

Really felt out of place desu

I think the problem is when contradictions happen.

Are you claiming concepts don't exist?

There's no proof god's real user, why is that so hard to understand? Some people don't feel the need to have faith in something supernatural, and that doesn't make anyone better or worse.

>using sarcasm
>on the internet

Ultimate nihilism

all that pasta to reply to me when im not even a fedora user
never go full retard next time

>You cannot materially quantify the immaterial.
And that's exactly what religion tries to do. It makes specific claims about the unknown and potentially unknowable nature of the cosmos. I do agree that science and religion aren't really comparable though.

Good. Islam is the one true way and will overtake them all.

Praise Allah.

It wasn't sarcasm, it was satire!

And Islam is the fastest growing religion, what's your point here? That the majority is right?

>Builds civilizations
>Destroys itself
Don't you have homework to be doing

I remember a kid yelled "By the power of gayskull" in mass and the priest just said I have the power in response

That depends on what you define as 'God'. The conventional wisdom is that god is the creator. The original being. This is referenced in the clip that OP has posted with young sheldon claiming the 'Kaboom' is the creator. This just goes to show that even if you are scientifically minded you must agree that a 'god' exists even if it is non-sentient and purely a physical reaction such as the big boom.

>what are characters?
they couldn't just make sheldon a christian you idiot

Because it's impossible to be moral without God, and atheists are all fucking degenerate.

One of the many amazing prophecies of Jesus Christ from the Old Testament is that of verse 1 from Psalm 22:

>"O God my God, look upon me: why hast thou forsaken me?"

Many people have said, "Jesus said God has forsaken him on the cross, how could he be the Messiah?"
Jesus was invoking Psalm 22 on the cross. The Psalm was wrote around 1,000 years before Christ was born.

This is significant because a few verses later in the same Psalm it says this:

>"They have pierced my hands and feet."

Some renderings have it;

>"they have torn holes in my hands and my feet"

Strange. It would appear that Jesus Christ invoked a Psalm wrote 1,000 years before He was born that seemed to tell of His very unique death, crucifixion; which did not even exist at the time Psalm 22 was wrote.

Psalm 22 goes on to say:

>"They parted my garments amongst them; and upon my vesture they cast lots."

This is another strange coincidence. It is known that the Roman soldiers gambled, or "cast lots" on Christ's garments as He was being crucified. If Christ was utterly out of His depths and defeated; why does this Psalm--that was invoked as He was in unimaginable pain--foretell of exact circumstances of the very death He was experiencing? Circumstances that no one could have known?

Not only this, Psalm 22 ends by foretelling the great rise of Christendom, which was achieved based on the very death that Christ Himself was experiencing, that the Psalm undeniably addresses:

>"All the ends of the earth shall remember, and shall be converted to the Lord: And all the kindreds of the Gentiles shall adore in his sight."

Remember, at the time of Christ, only one tribe was expecting a Messiah. This Psalm called forth by Christ on the cross predicts His death to an exactitude, and it just happens to predict the unprecedented worldwide conversion based on this death.

How do atheists explain this away?

There are plenty of atheists of Jewish heritage who identify as Jewish for cultural reasons.

It should probably be noted that almost every single major figure in the atheist movement is Jewish. You could make a compelling argument that atheism is specifically being pushed by Jews in today's society, and they seem to largely be targeting western Christians and only them.

For example, Sam Harris, Chapman Cohen, David Silverman, Michael Newdow, Gregory Epstein, Sherman Wine, Bill Maher, Eric Kaufmann, and of course, Richard Dawkins's mother has a Jewish surname and was stated to have lived in the only Jewish suburb of the city she grew up in. But he hasn't explicitly named her religion.

But that's only a tiny part of the list. We could discuss the Jewish atheists who aren't pushing atheism so much as atheism-enabling political views like Marxism. For example Soklonikov, Trotsky, Deutscher, Lenin, Uritsky, Kamenev, Zinoviev and Sverdlov.

And what about atheist Jewish public entertainers that constantly run down Christianity? We can go ahead and recycle Bill Maher here and also include Jon Leibowitz, Stephen Fry, Woody Allen, Rob Reiner, Daniel Radcliffe, Larry David, David Silverman, and... I'm sure I'm close to the post cap, so rather than just name the rest of Hollywood, you get the point.

PURE COINCIDENCE though.

It's impossible to be truly altruistic with God since you're doing everything to get into heaven.

>he asks about light
>then that the sun is made on the 4th day
>HURRR SUN IS JUST ANOTHER WORD FOR STAR

kys

i was mainly talking about christianity user and the fact that today they are mainly repsonsible for whats going on in europe with their attitude
although your right the religion does not get destroyed here only gets replaced by another religion...

Why are you talking semantics? Yeah god can mean a lot of things to different people, but the definition we're talking about here is the judeo-christian creator god. Why are you being obtuse?

Yeah because fear of hellfire is the only thing holding people back from raping and killing each other. Oh wait they already do that, christians included. There's good people and bad people, no matter their creed

No, you're doing things because they're the right thing to do. You want to please God, going to heaven is only a happy coincidence.

How will christkeks ever recover?

RIGGIDY RIGGIDY REKT SON!!!

Yeah of course you wanna please God because the alternative is getting fucked by demon dick. Not much of a choice is there? So much for free will

You can be truly altruistic, but it's extremely rare.

The irony is that altruism only exists in a state of apathy, which begs the question: why act? There's no motivator.

There's nothing wrong with doing a good deed -- which is almost inherently egoistic. The golden rule, itself, is egoistic.

Anyway, doing a good deed and feeling good for having done it -- I don't see reason to be ashamed of that. I'm sure a priest feels good for helping the needy.

I'm sure someone can be altruistic with a belief in God, but it's contextual with the event; however, altruistic acts are very rare due to the aforementioned lack of motivation. A motive to act [feeling good, for example] is what drives someone to do something, subconsciously or otherwise.

YAS QUEER SLAY

>Yeah because fear of hellfire is the only thing holding people back from raping and killing each other.

Nope. People are good because that want to please God. They're thankful. It's not about the reward.

Yeah you get degenerates in all religions, but the basis of morality is instilled by God.

God means many things to many people. That is why semantics are important. It is fine to not believe in god but you have to know what you are disagreeing with. If you are scientifically minded can you really say that the big bang is not a God? It essentially meets all the definitions of a God.

No, you want to please God because you're thankful for your existence.

Do atheicucks really not murder people just because they're afraid of getting caught? Guess that's why atheist countries like the USSR were so backwards.

Preists are Catholic, pastors and reverends are faggot loving protties.

Let's face it; Atheism is so 2006. It's been kicked to the curb by everyone.

Atheists just can't get over the fact that they lost the culture war.

Let me take you under 18s back to the year of 2006:
>atheism on the rise on the internet with their voices getting more heard everyday
>atheist leaders like Dawkins, Harris, and (worst) Hitchens are respected voices in the community
>r/atheism is one of the top boards on bleddit
>corporate stores trying to push things like "Happy Holidays" and having "Holiday Trees"

Cut to today:
>Dawkins, Harris, and (worst) Hitchens (may he RIP) viewed as complete psychos for their insane political/social views
>r/atheism moved to the basement of bleddit because it was embarrassing euphoric garbage
>things like "Reason Rally" draw less than a Hitler impersonator at a bar mitvah
>atheist communities tear themselves apart over things like elevator gate (giving rise to New Atheism, and Atheism+, which are less successful than just regular Atheism)
>constant rape and sexual assault allegations at atheist conventions (even atheist leaders like Lawrence Krauss are accused...by other atheist leaders)
>"Happy Holidays" and "Holiday Trees" are a distant memory
>liberal atheists in Britain crushed by Brexit

And quite frankly all this bad stuff wasn't even needed. All it would have took was one euphoric quote and a couple of fedora pictures. Christianity is still kicking 2000 years later, and atheism is at it knees because of a jpeg of a fat guy in a fedora. Sad

You're trying too hard, user.

oh right another pretend christianity thread
never seen one of those before

Sup Forums's counter-counter culture at it again

how is this show doing? I refuse to believe this will get more than one season

I won't argue here, a lot of people find their basis of morality on religion, but that doesn't mean that god is real, just that people take comfort in their belief and are better people for it.

>If you are scientifically minded
I'm nor so i don't don't know much about the big bang, but i do know that it's not sentient and didn't write scripture. If you could call it god it'd be more of a pantheistic kind i guess. You do you

>Do atheicucks really not murder people just because they're afraid of getting caught?
I imagine that happens with a lot of them. Also with religious people, but they have more of a disincentive i'll give you that. Except when they kill in the name of god ofc, crusades, inquisition, isis etc

I don't understand how athiests find the notion of a creator or designer to be such a ridiculous conecpt, yet they believe that everything magically appeared out of nowhere, from an explosion that just happened in the middle of nothing.

god, this is so awful
go raise some Sea Monkeys. user
you'll get more respect

Idiot: I believe in God because the world is too perfect to be a coincidence.

Average: Science can explain everything. There is no God.

Smart: Science cannot explain everything, there has to be a higher power we are unable to grasp.

Sea monkey money went to fund the white supremacist movement.

Remember when baby Sheldon really stick it to the backwards barbaric ideology that is Islam, me neither.

It's easier to swallow that then to believe an all-powerful force who gives a shit about what we eat or do sunday morning

dont want to offend those precious sand people

This is pure bullshit. Theists have such little faith, they have to try and hijack science to support their superstitions.

atheism is gay

Holy fucking shit. For a single dizzying moment there I was suddenly half my present size again.
and a quarter of the God damn weight

actually, science cant explain everything yet. back in the day they literally thought zeus made lightning. people in the future will be saying that people today really thought god made souls or consciousness or whatever

>in the future people will realize that we are all idiots right now
>except for me

It's only in decline because of the population boom in 3rd world countries. The richer a country gets, the less religious it becomes with very rare exceptions.

In a thousand years i reckon atheism will be >50%

Attached: world_population_1050_to_2050.jpg (904x617, 114K)

i didnt say i had the answers lmao i just said theres a pattern

science will never explain everything

there's only infinity

>You cannot materially quantify the immaterial

And no one is trying to. Athiests don't try to quantify the immaterial because it doesn't exist.

religion is truly the opium of the masses.

Atheism has lost, all atheism managed to accomplish was one last parting shot at Christianity to get revenge on their religious parents and the zealots who criticized Metallica and Mortal Kombat. Quite frankly, that's all atheists ever cared about. Enjoy your worldwide caliphate and Sharia law.

Pondis the best

blessed quads

user i'm sorry but your sources directly contradict your very first sentence so i'm afraid I can't keep reading
thanks for typing all that out though

based

Wow, so brave!

Nice rebuttle fedora.

Hey, remember that time the atheism fairy magically exploded nothing into everything, for no reason, and had it spontaneously turn into sentient life?

No? Well you need to watch some more Rick and Morty. Then you'll be smart.

>morality without God

No. One of the problems atheists have is the unbelievers' assertion that it is possible to determine what is right and what is wrong without God. They have a fundamental inability to concede that to be effectively absolute a moral code needs to be beyond human power to alter.

On this misunderstanding is a supposed conundrum about whether there is any good deed that could be done only by a religious person, and not done by a Godless one. Like all such questions, this contains another question: what is good, and who is to decide what is good?

Left to himself, Man can in a matter of minutes justify the incineration of populated cities; the deportation, slaughter, disease and starvation of inconvenient people and the mass murder of the unborn.

I have heard people who believe themselves to be good, defend all these things, and convince themselves as well as others. Quite often the same people will condemn similar actions by different countries, often with great vigour.

For a moral code to be effective, it must be attributed to, and vested in, a non-human source. It must be beyond the power of humanity to change it to suit itself.

Its most powerful expression is summed up in the words 'Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends'.

The huge differences which can be observed between Christian societies and all others, even in the twilit afterglow of Christianity, originate in this specific injunction.

Well the sources were at the bottom, so if you got that far and still didn't understand the sources the problems probably more on your end.

uh oh

Attached: 1502725841421.png (405x559, 12K)

morals come from society not god. wtf are you talking about?

Leave it to a board full of people that hate niggers, jews and spics to be majorly christian. O i am laffin

I know I don't speak for all atheists, but many of us simply accept that we don't know the true nature of the cosmos and strive to learn more. We don't take our feelings and conjecture as fact.

I don't find the idea of a creator who exists as a disembodied consciousness to be all that absurd, it just isn't a particularly useful explanation since it prompts the question of how God came to exist. Any justification you can give for God's existence can be applied directly to the universe.

based

Remind me, 20% is bigger than 80%, right?

If they have no basis in a higher power they're not morals. It's just a social zeitgeist.
