>First three panels
Actually i'm more scared when she says Yes
What if i don't like her what if i have to break her heart or i'm not interesting on the first date and fail there.

This is like the 8th LOL thread in a row. Does Sup Forums even have moderation anymore?

It's an American comic.

did that author even science? All the fields have expanded too much to consider one lesser than the other. The only meme sciences are sociology and maybe psychology, everyone else is legit as complex as their parent science.

Not just science, he worked at NASA. Part of why he has such a big ego, I suppose.

really? how someone that worked in NASA ends doing shit webcomics for pennies?

Some steely eyed missile man he turned out to be.

>Psychology is just applied biology
>Implying psychology is a real science

Because he's a redditor

Wait....Is this fucker actually trying to use the DENNIS system? The fuck, is he a sociopath or something? youtube.com/watch?v=95Fx2aYQbQs

He was the custodian-I mean 'waste disposal specialist'?

>in 2006 NASA didn't renew his contract

what did they mean by this?

They are busy hunting for chris-chan threads to delete

LOL

Do you think he knows someone that uses the MAC system or goes after the scraps once that part is over?

I'm sure he knows countless gamma males who've fallen into this pattern.

It's not about the fields being lesser, it's about their object of their study being more abstract.

LOL

He worked for NASA in 2006. For six months. That's a test period in the US. They didn't even renew his contract.

>Frank is the guy who she ends up going with at the end.

thats pretty sad actually
why would someone draw this?
get this shit from my Sup Forums

I saw a version of this with it going in a circle with a philosopher being the connection between sociologist and matematician

Its an edit, the first four panels are the real thing.

always makes me kek

That makes sense. Mathematicians and philosophers are both completely apeshit insane, after all.

...

LOL

>psychology is just applied biology
Psychologists wish!

But that's right and a bit funny. You know lol is supposed to be used ironically right?

This. The money should go to the military and niggers who need to buy more drugs.

Reminder that there's a branch of philosophy that looks like pic related and made me quit philosophy.
Sociology is bullshit though.

>not giving her the crying wojak face

>a woman has to be on top
fucking feminists

I fucking hate mathematical logic but yeah, everything can be done mathematically, maths are abstractions of reality

>cannot handle boolean logic
get a real job, hippie

Why is there no economist in that picture? Just kidding, economics isn't a science, it's just a mathematical framework for saying 1. I'm rich, fuck you, and 2. I'm rich, do things my way, or fuck you.

A joke:
A biologist, a physicist, and a mathematician were on a train traveling from England to Scotland.
As they crossed the border into Scotland, the biologist looked out of the window and said "Look! Scottish sheep are black!"
The physicist said, "No. Some Scottish sheep are black."
The mathematician paused, then said, "There is at least one field, containing at least one sheep, of which at least one side is black."

it always strikes my how diverse a field philosophy is, and how close it can get to either literature about feelings or just pure theoretical math
pretty insane how i.e. Camus and Tarski are both considered philosophers

The economist said, "The local market forces clearly tend towards the production of black sheep."

i love how in those jokes mathematicians are always the most "down to earth" and "most logical" and shit while in reality they invent bullshit like Imaginary Numbers

The philosopher said: "Inductive reasoning is a deeply flawed method. We can't actually say anything about the sheep, if there even is a sheep."

What's the latest scoop on Chris? I stopped following him about a year ago on account of the CWCki going full Sup Forums.

Well Sup Forums?

...

LOL

I don't get this. The last panel makes it fairly obvious that this is a satire on "nice guys".

>sociology and psychology is STEM
It's hilarious to see what happens when you take them put of STEM employment figures, almost like when you take out African Americans from American crime figures.

God, Sophie's such an unaware cunt. Didn't he throw a hissy fit during the Orlando shooting because it was taking attention away from trans people?

Top right dude is correct

Ugh
I fell into this pattern
I could've asked her out three years prior when I first met her
She said yes but the relationship lasted two weeks because she wasn't ready for a relationship after having broke up with some other guy
She went on to fuck like 10 guys in the span of a month, get in a relationship with another guy, and completely forget anything we had ever existed
Had I asked her out so much earlier she would've never turned into this
Her excuse is legitimately that
>Im sorry but after all I've been through Im not capable of loving another person anymore
I wish idve let go of these stupid ideals of true love and shit and had just had the balls to make a move
Well, I guess I learned my lesson
Never do this shit

>all 4 are legit opinions
>no adressing any of them just lol trasphobic

you also blogpost about your boring life in a comics and cartoons board where nobody caes about you

I love these threads, they motivate me with hate to do my best!

Except for the bottom right, which is somewhat ignorant of the differences between sexual orientation and gender dysphoria, they're all perfectly sensible stances to have and Labelle is making pointless enemies by lumping together people who disagree with her and people who'd advocate for her death or taking away her rights as all being "transphobes".

GOTTA DO MY PART!

I love Assigned Male threads. It's always funny to watch straight people talk about what trans folks are allowed to complain about.

Bottom left is a bit dickish, though. Unless you are dating a trans person - in which case, yes, they should be open about being trans - or are a close family member of that person, the gender status of a trans person is no one else's goddamn business. (And, incidentally, a trans person being "open" about being trans would likely lead to harassment and violence against that person.)

Upper right does raise an interesting point, though: While I might date a trans person, would it be transphobic to say I would not have sex with one? (Along the same lines: As a bi White guy, would it be racist to say I do not consider a non-White man to be sexually attractive, even if I would date him?)

I also enjoy xkcd hate threads, because it's full of people who secretly feel they're stupid trying to prove that everyone who seems smart is just faking it to feel good

LOL!!!

Dating people you don't find sexually attractive seems misleading. If there's no way in hell you date will ever get some, you should be up front with that in the first place. And then they'll probably call off the date. More often than not, at least.

Explain to me the hate for this strip. I think it's cute.

Fuck...this is me in a nutshell

>can't into logic
Sup Forums posters are really uneducated

It gets tiring after a while, because everyone just posts the same few strips.

>That lager comic
>First amendment means you can still be punished
>I'm with her (LOL HILLARY SUCKS AND TRUMP IS GREAT AM I RIGHT Sup Forums)
>White knight comic
>Megan comic
>Comic where hat guy is semi-Rick
>Then some Assigned Male comics because boy those haven't been overused amirite

I mean, come on. You guys can do much better than that.

Hi Randall.

All these guys making fun of his short NASA tenure

How many NASAs did you all work for?

It's just fucking useless and I felt like I was wasting my time doing it. I understand the intent but it isn't applicable to reality because it deals with concepts, which aren't things. It's a cute representation but it's just wrong.

>while in reality they invent bullshit like Imaginary Numbers
Spoken like a completr math illiterate. The name is bullshit but the concept is nessecary for math, math is very incomplete without it and it follows naturally from negative numbers. Physics wouldn't even work without imaginary numbers because fermions behave in a way that need imaginary numbers to actually calculate. Without imaginary numbers you can't solve simple electro magnetic equations.

Plus they make a lot of calculus much easier. Once you fall in love with imaginary numbers you don't go back

Bottom left depends hugely on the level of transparency they expect.
It could mean anything from
>don't lie to somebody you want to date
>don't lie to somebody who asks
>don't change official documentation like birth certificates
>you have to loudly announce that you're transgender whenever you enter a public bathroom or changing room in case someone in there wouldn't be comfortable with it
>all transgender people should be branded with a T on their forehead so you can tell them apart on sight

Given the lack of information, I think it seems reasonable to err towards a more charitable interpretation.

>would it be transphobic to say I would not have sex with one?
No more than it would be homophobic for a man not to want to have sex with a man. The dick wants what the dick wants, and while there are certain immoral things that a dick could want, there's no compulsory moral behavior for dicks.

>beer is bad
Could be said about anything you consume. But that is still a shit opinion

The only respected psychologists are the ones that delve with neuroscience and psychiatry. Everyone else is a brainlet and mostly a glorified counselor.

american beer is bad. it tastes like piss and doesn't even get you drunk very fast. there is literally zero purpose to it.

>He doesn't realize that all digital electronics are modeled as boolean logic and it's one of the most lucrative career paths imaginable

Isn't boolean logic at the core of all modern programming? That seems pretty applicable to reality.

>cannot handle boolean logic

you literally hate modern technology. Neck yourself

European beer is bad. It tastes like piss and gets you drunk too quickly. There is literally zero purpose to it.

this american tendency to hate educated people fascinates me. psychologists devote years to studying the complexities of the human mind, constantly being tested on their knowledge, year after year, paying for the privilege of doing so, and earning a degree that proves they've done it.

Then they get paid a lot by people because their expertise is in demand, and most definitely not something just anyone can do.

You don't have to like them but you really should respect the fact that they know more than you about their field, and that it matters.

Most educated people are actually stupid, though???

>I understand the intent but it isn't applicable to reality
It is for real STEM fields.

so, I hate to fuck traps to be progressive?

No, most educated people are above average intelligence. a person of average intelligence can't get a PhD

>deals with concepts, which aren't things.
You missed the entire point. The point of it is to define concepts so that when you are talking about them it can be handled as something real. It would be more usefull if they integrated set theory into it but unfortunately most students are math illiterate and would freak out. Ideally a person should take set theory and linear alegebra first and then a short philosophy course about logic, wouldn't have to be a term long class a month would do. Physicists need a good influx of philosophical thinking right now, the shut up and calculate school is far past its day

...

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand xkcd.

>Be friends with a girl.
>Do a lot of the stuff described here without any romantic inclination, ie. at no point do I think that I want a relationship with the girl.
>She ends up falling for me.
>We're in a relationship now.
Is the secret just to not start with any romantic intent? Because so far as I can tell this really shouldn't have happened.

no, you just need a slightly above average knowledge of the sciences. Not even a deep one.

This strip is a good example. Do you know what all these words mean? If so you probably got a chuckle. If not then you probably feel really insecure about it and have to lash out by hating on how Randall and his friends are just trying to "seem smart"

>this non-brainlet tendency to hate educated people fascinates me. feminist studies experts devote years to studying the complexities of the human society, constantly being tested on their knowledge, year after year, paying for the privilege of doing so, and earning a degree that proves they've done it.

>Then they get paid a lot by people because their expertise is in demand, and most definitely not something just anyone can do.

>You don't have to like them but you really should respect the fact that they know more than you about their field, and that it matters.

>psychologists devote years to studying the complexities of the human mind, constantly being tested on their knowledge
But the entire field is based on self refferencial concepts. It is not a top down field and thus has no core concepts that can be tested and built from. I'm not saying it's all wrong but the field has no way of properly test what IS wrong. The whole field is statistical basis and could be wrong.

I agree. We need more variety in shitty comics threads.

This is literally a fucking straw man about people who call out straw man arguments. Who the fuck would consider the idea of someone saying "trannys are men in dresses" a straw man?

t. american "drinker"

>this american tendency to hate educated people fascinates me
It's related to the American notion of equal rights, which some people have unfortunately assumed means everyone is supposed to be treated as equal across the board. Add in all the TV celebrity doctors that are off the wall crazy, the Bazinga factor, and the average American citizen doesn't get a good idea of how the average person holding a doctorate functions.
That was a meme you dip, specifically referencing Rick and Morty.

girls feel more comfortable around guys who don't show any romantic interest.

Males are predators, Females are prey. If a girl feels like you have sexual intentions, her instinct is to set up a wall and be defensive, because that's what most men she meets do. If she feels no such threat from you, she'll relax and be at ease, which can allow a more natural emotional connection to form.

This is assuming the girl isn't looking for a mate at the moment. If she is, then you very much want to be aggressive.

>psychology has no core concepts that can be tested
imagine being this guy

a lot of people would, because they don't understand what a strawman is, so it's not a strawman at all. And you accusing it of being one is just another example of people using the word where it's not appropriate.

The secret is to not build a relationship on a lie. If you want a relationship but pretend like you just want to be friends, that's bad. If you want to be just friends but pretend like you want to bone her, that's also bad.
Don't lie and communicate honestly, and you can't steer completely wrong.

most people are too stupid to realize that the best relationships are friendships. Fucking can be added, but the whole "romantic" wovy dovy shit never lasts, its just our dipshit compulsion to breed

May be smug but this is accurate and even a bit insightful

keep telling yourself that
