Watching this with the whole familly while eating

>brother: "this is the most boring movie I've ever seen"
>mom: "so, is that his child? wait, who is Macbeth?"
>stepdad: "..."

I have bad taste or it is just that they don't understand it?

They couldn’t get a black guy to play this?

The scenes are alredy too dark. You wouldn't be able to see a black guy there.

This movie is pretty much Macbeth as a video game, so that shouldn't be surprising

the other version you idolize is the one with the shitty fights and lame acting, though

Fill me in - which one do I idolize?

The editing was shit, it's a compelling play when staged well, this film though-- nonsensical and they cut most of the of lines out. If i recall, correctly, a lot of the theatrical stuff- soliloquys, monologues, most of the expository stuff, was cut. Big piece of shit movie. Brother was so excited he got it for christmas, we did not finish it. The script is inherently theatrical, and the fucks "writing" directing and editing had no clue and tried to force that script into the kind of arthaus filmaking they wanted to do.

>while eating
pig disgusting amerifat pleb kinolet

i liked it on the first viewing but on the second it felt kinda bland. visuals were nice at least.

I am european. I was eating vegetables. I am 57kg. Are you even trying?

Patrick Stewart is a good actor, but I am afraid that Ian McKellen fits better here.

I have no control over this.

>Patrick Stewart is a good actor, but I am afraid that Ian McKellen fits better here.

They're both outstanding, but yeah it's really preferences.

I was about to post these same videos. Different performances, both great.

Fassbender is not a bad actor by any shot but goddamn does he fade into the background compared to those two thespians.

I always wondered, how can a stupid guy like me learn that kind of classical acting? It is great to watch McKellen when he's not acting because that specific education shaped his own personality.

> not watching Roman Polanski's 1971 Macbeth
The fuck is wrong with you?

>Getting a movie as a Christmas gift during the current year

I'm old as fuck and this seems antiquated.

It's not just about natural talent, it really does require education & rigorous practice. It's all about having total control over your tone, movement, body language, facial expressions, breath, etc. When you really break it down, good acting is more physical than cerebral. It's about using your body to communicate clear messages to an audience alongside the dialogue

Kill them. They are just ignorant pigs. Kill them and move to the next town.

>I have bad taste or it is just that they don't understand it?
you have a bad taste
I've seen countless macbeth adaptations

Okay, I get it's Macbeth. But I literally had to fucking turn on subtitles to understand....FUCKING ANYONE

This movie was literally impossible to hear, comprehend or listen to. I didn't understand a single goddamn word out of a single goddamned character's mouth. I don't know if it was because the accents were thicker than Amy Shumer's bush, or because the sound balancing was FUBAR, but this was honest to God the first film I HAD to watch, beginning to end, with subtitles ON.

should've watched tomb raider 2 instead spainbro
