No cartoon has come close to the comfiness of Season 1 Spongebob.
>slice of life
>innocent, charming
>ambient bubbling
>light reflects down onto the ocean floor below
>grainy, hand-drawn, 4:3
>beautiful backgrounds
>relaxing hawaiian tunes, instrumental sea shanties

Prove me fucking wrong, I dare you

>city
meant to say setting. whatever

...

...

>Every-character-besides-the-main-characters-is-the-same-character-ville
>comfy
its fucking creepy

SpongeBob's setting and atmosphere in general is comfy af imo. The underwater aspect really is fascinating honestly.

What about post-Aku Townsville?
Those crucified dogs make it extra comfy.

Bahia Bay

nothing unique about this place unlike Spongebob's

Rucified!?

That is not a city.
That is roughly the size of a fucking Hick town

The problem with the newer seasons is that it now longer feels underwater. In the older seasons the water was part of the setting and affected the story. Now, the show might as well be happening on land

kek
>In the older seasons the water was part of the setting and affected the story.
examples?

the city was extremely spread out.
By your definition Spongebob didn't even live in Bikini Bottom

It's just a tourist trap on the coast but the background art makes the whole town feel nice

This, I think I remember seeing the water reflections at times but I think they stopped doing that in the mid seasons and brought it back when they went HD.

If they could capture the atmosphere again (including desaturating the fucking colors and relax the pacing and screaming) they could easily get back some watchers, especially since their creative side has started to show up again, like with the feral friends episode, and the writing has been getting tweaked.

>Christmas Who?
>Life of Crime
>Hooky
>Sandy's Rocket
>Texas
>Pressure

...

He lives in the bumfuk outskirts friendo

I give it a pizza-of-the-week/10

whats that little room between the game room and the kitchen? a bath room?

Nowhere's pretty comfy.

So some people are saying that season 10 has been an improvement over the previous seasons. Is that true are they just shills?

Nowhere always gave me the feeling of dread

Its...passable. Sure, it's an improvement, but it's still nowhere close to the pre-movie seasons.

GROVE4LIFE

Battle for Bikini bottom captured this perfectly and I think it's one of, if not the best show-game adaptations ever

I think Season 2 and 3 are almost the same level. They do a great job expanding the land of bikini bottom
>sea needle
>make-out reef
>female prison
>prank store
>bubble bowl

That settles it when my DnD party goes underwater for that part of the campaign to hang with the Merfolk and Triton I am playing this right here for maximum comfy.
Thanks Sup Forums for giving me inspiration.

he lives in an unincorporated community within the greater Bikini Bottom metropolitan area

Bikini Bottom is filled with a nothing but jerks and assholes, why would you want to live there

Sneed's room (formerly Chuck's)

>only like 3 good places to be
not really

Yep.

Although they're better seasons comedically, they can't really beat the "feels" of Season 1. SpongeBob was practically born to be traditionally animated.

This may be Sup Forums material, but its semi-relevant. Morioh looks comfy enough.

I feel like the aesthetic of Arlen was pretty consistent throughout the entire show.

I've never gotten a feel for the layout of Bikini Bottom.

There's the three houses
Krusty Crab/Chum Bucket
Mr. Crabs' House
In town/shops and houses
The Boating School
Goo Lagoon
ect

But I have no idea how they fit together spatially. The backgrounds don't give good hints, and I can't even locate them on zoom-out shots like in the OP. Are they way out of shot? That's a long way to travel without a boat.

they have bikes
but yeah I think its very spread out

is that anchor mr krabs' house or a different location? it seems much bigger than krabs' house but i don't recall them visiting an achor

I dont think it is, but I dont think they ever visited it either

We need a successor to Simpsons Hit & Run with this map.

youtube.com/watch?v=7u65WiPxZKc

I thought part of Springfield's trait was that there was no consistency. In one adventure the Simpson house would be right next to the Power Plant (Homer the Great), while in another it'd be on the border of town (The Simpsons Movie).

was the power plant even in the dome?

>that music
Sorry, but I can't hear that without thinking about Nani saying goodbye to Lilo

Camp Kidney from Camp Lazlo always gave me a comfy nostalgic vibe desu

My nigga.

I always thought the cul-de-sac was the coolest feeling setting

Ocenn Shores from Rocket Power was pretty damn comfy.
>vert skatepark right next to the pier
>no shoobies for most of the year
>Shore Shack has good food and is right next to the peir
>perfect culdesac for street hockey near your house.

You wanna live here, and you know it.

Half-bath most likely.

this, I always thought it was unpleasant.

except when you get SAND IN THE POTATO SALAD

The only consistency is Moe's is always next to King Toot's.

There was a cul-de-sac type street in my Town and I always secretly wanted to live there because of this show. I lived on an isolated hill next to the cemetery and I was like three miles from the closest friend

City is a better question anyway.

See

youtube.com/watch?v=953vagWiMJM
>Grew up on the beaches of Florida
>Lived directly on the water with a dock and everything
>Went fishing everyday
>Absolutely adored Spongebob as a kid
>Used to be all about the ocean
>Now I'm living in the suburbs nowhere near the beach for miles
>Feel as if I was taken out of my natural habitat

I was gonna shitpost with an mlp city but thinking about it none of the cities we have seen seem very comfy. Maybe the crystal empire.
And rainbow falls is the only comfy town.

>isolated hill next to the cemetery
Sounds like my kind of place.

...

Oh shit I feel like I'm back home again.

>Always felt weird and/or scared as a kid when this song came on
>Hundreds of commends under the video state the same thing

The song had something oddly "uncanny valley" on it that I can't describe.

early Spongebob in general always had a creepy underlying feeling to me

>comfy

Literally all the people suck.

Yeah but in canon Arlen is worse than Wichita Falls, and Wichita Falls fucking sucks

Kinda, but it's still somehow beautiful in it's own way. It was the most nostalgia fuelled one for me.

>Feel as if I was taken out of my natural habitat
What percentage of your day do you spend flopping around like a dying fish?

Ahh
Bikini Bottom
Where the beautiful sea creatures live out their lives in peaceful harmony.

*Loud sigh*
"Another day another reminder of suburban mediocrity."
"MR SQUIDWARD! I'M NOT PAYING TO YOU LAMENT IN YOUR AVERAGE LIFE."
"He's right, the joy of working at Krusty Krab is payment all in itself."
"Good morning Krusty crew"
"DAAAAADY Can I get my allowance now?"
"TODAY IS THE DAY I FINALLY SNEAK INTO THE KRUSTY KRAB AND STEAL THE FORMULA, WHILE THOSE IDIOTS ARE BLITHERING ON ABOUT MEDIOCRITY I WILL SNEAK IN AND AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"
"Shhhhhhhhhheoot! I think I stepped in something."

Unless your these poor saps.

I like it better with normal colours though.

I grew up, and am currently living, in Minnesota. So /comfy/ for me was always bundling up next to a heater/fire and playing pokemon or runescape while the snow flies.

I still do this. Hopefully I'll have a gf this winter I can snuggle with too.

I actually dig the florida aesthetic though, spent quite some time there as a kid and I remember it being very similar to your personal description.
