I don't watch new late night anymore. It's just whiny political bullshit. I've been watching old Letterman episodes from the 80s and they're still brilliant and timeless. Johnny's shows are harder to rewatch, he basically did the same thing every night. There's nothing really wrong with that, it's just rarely laugh out loud comedy.
His interviews are cool though, he was friends with a lot of the celebrity guests and he had casual conversations with them during interviews. It's an era of Hollywood long gone by, we'll never see anything like it again.
