I know it seems far fetched for D&D, but in all seriousness, do you think there's a chance the show will flip around and make Dany into the villain, saying she's slowly becoming like her father, the mad king?
Her decision to murder the Tarly's had no real explanation aside from "we need to show what happens to those that oppose us". I'm sure there were many people outside this board outraged at the fact she killed them. And the fact that they have Tyrion, the most likeable character in the show, slowly growing into an opposer of her choices shows that the story could be leading toward Daenerys dying. It would be a pretty killer ending, and we know that the only thing GoT really has going for it are sudden big plot twists like Ned's execution and the Red Wedding.
it may be that way in the book series but it's too late for the tv series to have her turn into the villain. the normies love her way too much. even black women are obsessed with daenerys despite her being white and having the word a last name that almost has the word aryan in it.
the show just panders to normies and panders to the popular surface theories.
Xavier Reed
>I'm sure there were many people outside this board outraged at the fact she killed them. Most of my friends were happy that she killed them. There's no way they'll turn her into the bad guy. There's not enough time to do a heel turn in the 6 episodes left.
Hudson Campbell
Will we at least see her get sacrificed to reforge Lightbringer?
Daniel Rivera
>The leftist-liberal strong womyn becoming the villain Would never happen but the idea is great, kudos.
Jack Wright
Nah. Her incompetence and wanton violence is only obvious to people who think. To everyone else, D&D included, it's just "YAAAS QUEEN SLAY". >may be that way in the book series I'm not sure that's the case. I think Dany will come close to becoming a villainous figure once the entire Westeros greets her with the points of their swords, and Aegon steals her triumphant Targ restoration, but she'll come back on track after she sees the WW threat.
Joshua Johnson
Tyrion is in love with her, I thought they made that clear in the scene where she names him hand. It's why he was miffed about her feelings for Jon and started "opposing her choice" to trust him.
That's all this is. That's the direction they're going. It's a love triangle.
Martin initially wanted a love triangle between Jon, Arya, and Tyrion, but scrapped that idea. Well, turns out that he was going to do it anyway, only with Danaerys instead of Arya.
As for the show, there is no way Dany is becoming a villain. They have not even allowed themselves to portray her with several of the flaws she has in the book.
Hunter Clark
>do you think there's a chance the show will flip around and make Dany into the villain, saying she's slowly becoming like her father, the mad king? no, they know their audience
To be fair. She also doesn't have book Dany's good traits either. Can't have her questioning herself or trying to improve because that would mean that she isn't a strong, confident woman.
Brody Jenkins
that's exactly where it is going, and it's obvious too
Brody Perez
>make Dany into the villain She's never been a "good guy" to begin with. Hate that cunt more than anybody else. I really don't get the love she got from everybody, when she's a goddamn unlikable Mary Sue.
Mason Cruz
Dany being Mary Sue is the consequence of of the writers trying to wrap her story up. She left a ton of devastation in her wake for the first five seasons due to her impulsive and impetuous behavior, and was being pretty cuntish in the first half of S7. She has flaws, her detractors are allowed to have a good point, she makes bad choices and people around her suffer because of them. If anyone's a Mary Sue, it would be Jon. No flaws, everyone who isn't on board with what he's saying is either wrong or evil, he has super special secret parentage and birthright, when he makes what anyone would judge to be mistakes he gets rewarded for it, has titles just fall into his lap, acts as a narrative black hole for the people around him, generally boring as fuck.
Christian Stewart
The guy who plays Jorah said that the ending might upset people.
“When I read it, I thought it was rather brilliant,” actor Ian Glen told INAS. “I am a bit of a fan of the series as well, and it satiated my expectation and hopes … But we will just have to see. You know with something this big like Game of Thrones, you cannot please everyone. All I can say is that we will be doing what we have done before and the writers have written great episodes. They have had a great strike rate up to now and I am sure that will continue.”
Make of that what you will.
Dany will obviously win, my bet is Arya goes to King's landing and takes out Cercei. Sansa get Winterfell. They make a truce with Cercei. Jon dies in the north. Tyrion won't get with Dany, but he'll be her Hand, she's revealed to be pregnant with Jon's kid. Jaime dies. Jorah dies, protecting Dany. Sam gets fatter. Rickon, as the dead king dude, kills Jon and is all woo woo mystical afterwards, and disapears into the North to wait for the next Winter. Or something nobody understands, because that part of the story sucks in the book, and the show. I don't give a flying fuck about Brienne.
Wyatt Robinson
>There's no way they'll turn her into the bad guy. There's not enough time to do a heel turn in the 6 episodes left. please, they will be called: edgy, bold, fierce and daring for doing this stuff, GOT has be known for this crap.
In the books, she was what she was - it was intentional by Martin. He set out to tell an epic story that didn't follow the "Fight against the ultimate bad guy" pattern, he wanted to make bad guys, according to what perspective you took. The Starks were bad guys, if you looked at them from the point of view of the Lannisters. Cercei is the bad guy, from the point of view of everyone, except her family.
The problem is, Martin lost interest and stopped working it from that angle, and let the show writers create cardboard cutouts of his characters, and decided for the audience how to feel about each character. The conflicts and complexities of "The Song Of Fire And Ice" are now "Dany and Jon save the world, and hee hee, isn't Tirion amusing?" Tirion is supposed to be a tragic figure, who you want to like, but is so flawed himself, he's just pathetic and unlikable. He doesn't have a fucking nose, in the book.
Isaac Jenkins
>they save the realm from the White Walkers but there's a Mad Queen monster on the throne with 2 dragons guarding her
It's always those same people, and the annoying wide mouthed black haired fringe girl.
Jason Cooper
>she isn't capable of having children >dragons are easily killed with cersei's scorpion It's actually a happy ending
Owen James
>in my point of view, it is the starks who are the bad guys Exposing someone else's crime doesn't make you a bad guy in anyone's perspective dude. They're a hindrance for the Lannisters, but you don't see them crying about how mean, unfair, and evil the Starks are. Because they didn't actually d anything mean or unfair. At least not intentionally. >except her family Not including Tyrion, Kevan, Lancel, Tommen, and post ASOS Jaime. The whole "grey world" thing is for the most part just hype.
Or history repeats itself and she goes nuts, leading to her own child killing her/the death of her own child through war like Aerys and Rhaegar.
Michael Powell
It's even dumber than that. The original plan was to crown Viserys.
Jackson Richardson
It wasn't. Viserys was the decoy, he was betrothed to Arianne to keep Doran happy, but he would've had an unfortunate accident whilst Aegon was being groomed.
Ethan Taylor
>normies Stop pretending youre not one of them.
James Campbell
I think the point of Jon is that he IS the traditional generic fantasy hero, he's strong, moral has the secret royal ancestry etc. Then he gets fucking murdered. That's the sort of s u b v e r s i o n GRRM likes.
Of course Dabid ruined it by resurrecting him two episodes later with no consequences, then erasing 5 seasons of character arc by making him King in The North. In the books he's either not coming back at all, or he's gonna be some Stoneheart-esque zombie lunatic. In fact I'm convinced the decision to cut Stoneheart was just so they didn't have to deal with the negative effects of resurrection when bringing back fan-favorite Jon.
Gavin Howard
I meant in the show.
Samuel Young
The user was referring to the show. Since none of them exist. So his big plan was to replace Robert with Viserys.
Brody Rivera
>I'm sure there were many people outside this board outraged at the fact she killed them.
I tend to wonder if anyone gives a genuine shit about them. Certainly I don't.
Levi Green
No offence OP but the only people who seriously think Dany is becoming a villain are hardcore Jonsafags who are just mad that Jon didn't fuck Sansa instead. GoT isn't that deep, and even ASOIAF sticks to a lot of the core fantasy tropes. We already have a tragic mentally ill queen for the audience to feel conflicted about and shocked by, and it's Cersei.
Yeah, it makes Viserys look even more retarded >But what if...I were to crown this Beggar King who is fast getting the reputation for being bonkers - delightfully devilish, Varys.
In the books Jon isn't as much of a Mary Sue though. He has a big problem where he doesn't listen to anyone or explain himself because he is so obviously right. Bowen isn't a bad dude. He's trying to save the NW from Ramsey and uphold the NW principles. Bowen came to Jon multiple times with advice and questions, but Jon dismissed him every time. He was literally crying as he was stabbing Jon. In the show, they gave Bowen's role to Alliser, an obviously sadistic asshole who is motivated by nothing other than racism.

How do Jon and Dany hook up in the books and to a lesser extent the show because D and D are retards, if she's being groomed to be a fire worshipper and he's an Old Gods worshipper and they're going to govern a realm of Seven worshippers?
falling in love with book-Dany considering how different their personalities are
I accidentally my post
Luis Roberts
I heard from a guy who knows Kristoffer Hivju (Tormund) that he got jewed hard by DnD. He literally earns only around 30k USD for his entire participation in GoT, and that includes work in future seasons. Hes also contractually obliged to prioritize GoT over all other projects.
Nah I reckon they'll share many of the same beats as the show in terms of how they'll interact and do the slap slap kiss thing. Only Dany will pretend to be retarded because she likes doing that in the books to have her enemies underestimate her.
And yet he still acts well like a champ. What a nice guy.
Hudson Perez
those two cannot create, only twist things already in existence.
Their stories run very parallel to each other. And their personalities are quite similar, where they differ, they compliment each other. Dany values council, Jon does not, Dany is impulsive as all hell, Jon is temperate and plans shit out. They'd work well as a couple. The religion thing isn't that big of a deal. Ned and Cat worked out fine, and who knows how Jon and Dany will develop. Maybe Jon becomes a firefag after his resurrection. Maybe Dany sticks to her agnosticism. However, there's no way for their relationship to realistically develop during the course of one book. Especially considering that they'll have a ton of other shit to do. Even if TWOW comes out, GURM will need two or three more books to complete the story. And knowing him, he'd just use those books to further bloat the story instead. Not that he'll live long enough to write any of them.

She's still in Mereen in the book, and marries some dude, and then when one of the dragons attacks at the fighting pit, she flies off on it, and is stranded.
Jon at the end of the 4th book is dead, stabbed at the Night's Watch.
You don't realize how far behind the books are, and how different the stories are, do you?
Ryder Myers
She marries Jon Snow. The Targaryans keep the bloodline pure
Jon gets resurrected, joins up with the North and with Stannis, and destroys Ramsay not giving a fuck about the Watch because he's been Beric'd.
Dany goes full jungle bitch now that she's tamed Drogon, becomes the Khaleesi of the entire Khalasar after burning the Khals alive with Drogon. She comes back and utterly roasts Mereen, packing up her shit and setting sail to Westeros.
